Waching daily Jun 30 2018

Oooh, look what time it is! It's that time! It's Death O'clock! Yeah! So after I

put a face on my compulsion to drink, and it turned out to be the mutant Love Child

of a dragon the size of a garden gnome - with a skin condition! - and Gollum

from Lord of the Rings, my Booze Gollum, I checked in with it the next night. I went

another 24 hours without drinking, and then that itch started in. Right around

Happy Hour. As always. "Oh you can start tomorrow." You know,

the usual. So instead, I was like: "Well, let me do something different. Let

me check back in. Just have a look at that creature." So I closed my eyes and

checked in with it. And I was like, "You know, I can swear this looks worse than

last night!" Because I'm starving it of the alcohol it wants, it's not looking

quite so satisfied with itself. It's not looking quite as peppy. So I'm like, "Hmm,

this is kinda cool!" I felt like it was a little bit of my reward for not giving

in to those impulses: like wait 'til tomorrow. I kind of got

a reward watching that compulsion suffer, instead of me!

So another 24 hours went by, and throughout the day, I'd kind of

wondered to myself: "I wonder if it's gonna look worse tonight?" And that kind

of cheered me up! Which tells you a little bit about me. It's a little scary

up here. I'm not not right! So I checked in. Again, the Happy Hour urges start, and

I check in. And it's definitely worse! Definitely worse!

And so I'm like, "Oh yeah, it's Death O'clock! Let me get the popcorn!" So it

goes: "You know you'll never quit!" And I'm like: "Huh. You look like you're about to."

And I swear to God this turned into this kind of fun game. It was really fun

having that face to personalize it. And get angry at. Anger really, really helped

me. Having a way to focus all that rage. And then getting my

"reward" every night for not giving in and watching it starve to

death. And return the favor: the way it had tortured me for so

long, it got a little of its own torture medicine. So that was super

awesome! "My precious!" "Bye, Precious! See ya on the other side!" So leave a comment below

how it's going with you picturing your Booze Gollum. What it looks like. All the

disgusting ways that it's dying as you're starving it of the alcohol it's

craving. And we can all get a kick out of each other's! Death to the Booze

Gollum! We need t-shirts, right?!

On this I finish the introduction.

Now we're turn to the top 5 works of the contest!

So, in the fifth place is the editor, whose nickname you now see on the screen.

(Sorry, I cant read)

Quite an original idea and a good fulfillment brought him to the top.

Lets watch!

Well, the fourth place went to the keelas with its worthy dm edit.

In relation to other dm works this video can be called truly original and interesting.

We are in the top three, friends.

Rufflexos opens it with his skills in editing.

Excellent work with smooth transitions, which, among other things, is made with a song of toby.

With the help of his ability to accurately give the mood of the song to the video, the space literally takes off to second place.

Good flow, good moment with a mask, good colors:

all this allowed him to rise so high.

The first place deservedly receives to donny with its simple, but therefore not a bad edit.

It's very cool that even minor sounds are part of the sync.

Let's watch it!

Well, that's all.

Thank you everyone, today's commentator is sprity.

See you soon!

Homemade Fruit Punch ~ Torani Friday ~ Noreen's Kitchen - Duration: 6:56.

Hi everyone, welcome back to my kitchen and another installment of Torani Friday today

We're taking it back to our youth and we're gonna make some fruit punch. Let's go see how this all comes together

Let's make some fruit punch for Torani Friday

Now Rick and I have been in the Torani Friday lab for a good portion of the morning trying to come up with a delicious

Tasting fruit punch for you. Since Torani doesn't make a fruit punch

I don't know why they don't make a fruit punch syrup - Torani, perhaps you could like fill us in there

They make every other flavor Under the Sun that you need to make a fruit punch

So today we're gonna make a delicious and refreshing fruit punch

We're gonna make it into a spritzer after we get the base made

So what I've done here and this is super easy

All right

I'm gonna move these forward just so you can see the whole lineup of

The red the the Torani syrups that I used now you all know. I have a massive collection of Toronto syrup

I don't actually have all of them

But I have a lot of them and so I got to doing some research. What's in our favorite fruit punch

What is the iconic fruit punch flavor from when Rick and I were kids that's Hawaiian Punch

Hawaiian Punch has a very

Distinctive taste and when we were kids it was delicious

But now Hawaiian Punch is full of gross junk that I don't want to give my family

and fruit punch is definitely a

sometimes

Enjoyment here. And with the fourth of July coming up. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity

To come up with a combination for fruit punch that everyone would enjoy

For our holiday celebration. So we have seven different flavors of Taurani syrup

and I know that sounds like a lot but I tried a few different combinations and

Honestly, the easiest one was the best one. You're gonna take one or equal parts, okay

I did one shot which is 2 ounces of every one of these flavors

and then we're going to enhance it by using some real fruit juice and then we're going to dilute it by using some water and

this is not going to be any different from when you were used to making a

Bottle of kool-aid when you were kid

We're gonna use equal parts of pineapple strawberry raspberry

Cherry, lemon tangerine and lime you can use orange in place of tangerine

but I had the tangerine I used it because tangerine is slightly tenure than the orange and I wanted this to have a

Little tang to it aside from what the lemon in line. We're gonna offer me. So I use that instead

so I mixed all these up in a two cup measure and it gave me slightly more than

Two cups of our fruit punch concentrate is what I'm gonna call it

Now if you were calling your kid and you made kool-aid

The little packet of kool-aid made a half a gallon and you added two cups of granulated sugar to it

So this is syrup syrup has been

Done equal parts of sugar and water and shirani syrup is similar

It's equal parts of sugar and water and for with flavoring added in so when you use the syrup, you're actually using less sugar

So let's just keep that in mind for a moment

And because I know some people are gonna say, oh my gosh, that's so much sugar. You're gonna get diabetes

No, I'm not gonna get diabetes. I don't have diabetes and neither does any one of my family

So we have two cups of the fruit punch concentrate is what we call this two cups of orange juice

two cups of pineapple juice and two cups of water

So that's eight cups total that's gonna make us a half a gallon

Okay

I'm gonna start with the water because this is gonna kind of self mix a little bit and I'm gonna use a funnel to

Keep things moving there goes our water and our orange juice and I don't think I can avoid making a mess

So I'm not even gonna try avoiding making a mess

But there goes our pineapple juice and here comes the magic with the Taurani syrup. There you go

That's right

So I'm gonna put the lid on I'm just gonna give this a little bit of a judge boom

Homemade fruit punch to Rani style looks like fruit punch, right? Look at that

There you go delicious

Homemade to Torani style fruit punch it would make things a whole lot easier

Ani if you would just make us a bottle of fruit punch syrup and you might want to put that on your list

So whoever's over there right now

Notes down when you're watching my video tell your research and development department. That fruit punch would be an awesome way to go

Do you want to try this?

Is it it really is it has just the right combination of flavors if you want to make this into a spritzer

I've got some crushed ice

I'm just going to cover this about half way with the punch and then we're gonna top this off with some

Lemon-lime soda, and that will give you a really lovely fizzy fruit punch

it's gonna be light and delicious and refreshing and

I'm not gonna lie if you're gonna be serving this for the holidays for

your barbecue if you're gonna have a dull surround you could have your your

Adult beverages next to that and they could mix in some rum or some tequila or some vodka

I think this would be really lovely with a shot of Jim Beam or Jack Daniels

Or some of the like the the Jim Beam, honey

that would be a really lovely like a planter's punch and it would be delicious and it's gonna be

Refreshing and cool and just perfect for a fourth of July. That is how you make to ronnie style fruit punch

I hope that you give it a try

I know it's seven different flavors, but honestly

they're worth it and I'm gonna leave links down below to where you can find these on both my Amazon page as

Well as the Torani website, if you enjoyed this video, please consider giving me a thumbs up

And if this is your first time joining me in the kitchen welcome

So you will receive a push notification on your smartphone or an email whenever we upload new content

I hope you give this to Torani style fruit punch a try and I hope you love it and until next time I'll see ya

How To Optimize IGTV With Hands-On Tips & Tricks - Duration: 5:41.

Hey, how's it going everyone?

So instagram released ige tv about a week and a half ago and during that time I've just

been playing around with it and tested some optimization ideas, so I wanted to go ahead

and share those with you today.

So if you haven't used this before, if you're like myself, I waited quite a while.

Um, but you can see that on instagram you can either go through the APP or you could

go through the, uh, the, the standalone Ige TV, whichever one you wanted to use.

But uh, with, within instagram it's kind of cool.

We're going to back out.

I don't know what the hell he's talking about, but usually right up here above the stories

is where like any new, uh, ige TV notification come up.

So it's really cool to be able to do ige tv videos in shows because you'll be able to

capture the toppest Korean and that's kind of the basis of marketing.

So what we're gonna do is just jump in and take a look at some ideas for how to optimize.

So the first thing is, I just brought this up, you'll notice kind of hard to read these

items, but I'm, I'm clicking right now on some of the hashtags and my profile and that's

the first thing to realize is that the hashtags in the channel are not clickable nor are any

of the ats.

So just keep that in mind that even though your profile, my profile shows up here, the

only thing that I'm able to click on is my profile picture.

That brings back to my instagram profile.

And then also you'll see right there where it says 160 plus a marketing tools, there's

no url and that's usually where my company url would come up.

But for some reason that's not there.

So that's just important to realize.

But when we click here, if you just go ahead and click on the plus button and it opens

up, you know, whatever video we want to use, stop that.

So once you select video that you want to upload to Igt v, there's a couple of things.

One is the title.

Uh, what I realized is that a, the title is cutoff at about 18 to 20 characters, including

spaces.

So as you build this out, uh, you know, you want to make sure to keep that within a certain,

um, uh, within a certain length and just make it with keywords that are based on whatever

you're trying to rank for right now.

Ige, tv doesn't have any kind of search function by content or context.

It's only by creator, but in the future I can promise you that's going to change.

So if you use keywords in your title and then also your description, it's going to help

you out.

And this is kind of a cool thing here.

I'm going to switch here really quick and then getting on my site and it's something

that's actually really interesting.

I'm gonna go ahead and copy this, uh,

once a

you figure out how to do this properly.

Copy.

There you go.

Thank you.

The really cool thing is that you could actually put urls in your ige TV show description.

This is huge.

This is way different than how instagram is now, uh, because you can't put urls in your

instagram posts or stories, but this, this allows you to.

So I usually do that and then since I like to make my instagram the Instagram TV descriptions

longer, what I usually do is I'll write it up first on my computer and then I'll go ahead

and just open up like this and whatever, make it really long and then go ahead and paste

it.

And you still have to do those little breaks.

I like to use periods, but uh, it doesn't recognize paragraph breaks from what I've

found.

And then also, um, his inside GTV has tried to take on youtube and other platforms like

that.

I like to use hashtags in my descriptions.

They're clickable.

So that's great.

And I think in the future, as instagram integrates IGV into their overall economy or ecosystem,

a little bit more, hashtags are really big.

So, so the big thing, the big takeaway here is include a keyword rich titles and make

the beginning really count because only the first 18 to 20 characters are gonna show up

in the channel.

The scription use keywords in your description area.

Use a naked url.

I always put a naked url right at the top for youtube, so I'm just going to continue

to do the same thing with a instagram tv and then also put hashtags in your description

as well, and that's going to help you rank in the future as Instagram TV expands and

really increases their capabilities.

So go ahead and check that out.

If you haven't used Igt, Viet, just go ahead and try it out.

I know it's a little bit intimidating, but it's a lot of fun to use and you can make

up to 10 minute videos soon.

They're going to be up to an hour, so we'll come back and show some other great ideas

for how to leverage instagram TV and optimize it.

Thanks.

The County Seat - Shortage of Sheriff's in Utah - Duration: 28:51.

When you go to a buffet you

expect that there will always be

enough of each kind of food on

the menu so that your favorite

dish will be there when you go

through the line. But what if

the chef only spends $100 instead

of $200 dollars to make sure that

there is extra food on hand "just

in case". Well, in a way that is

similar to the problem we will be

covering today on The County

Seat. Hi I'm Chad Booth and

hello again. In our scenario,

the buffet is your protection as

a citizen, and the entrees are

the available law enforcement

officers to serve and protect the

community. It seems that we have

not spent enough time and money

in the kitchen, to make sure

there is an adequate force on the

serving line. As a result, law

enforcement agencies have

resorted to stealing from each

other's plate to get the officers

they need. That is the topic of

our discussion today. We will

start today at the supply line,

as there is only one place in

Utah to get certified law

enforcement officers.. The

Academy.. Here is Ria with The

Basics.

hat and join the world of law

enforcement. That is a noble

ambition, in fact, my nephew

followed that path back in

central Illinois. It was very

hard work and required more from

him than his college education

had.

You see, most people think that

to be a deputy all you need to

know is how to shoot a gun, drive

a car fast, tackle the bad guy

and read them their Miranda

Rights. Something that you might

learn in one quarter at a

technical college or by watching

five seasons of Hawaii 50, but in

reality, law enforcement officers

have to wear several hats.

In any given hour of duty they

might have to wear the hat of a

psychologist, a negotiator, a

technical writer, a race car

driver, an expert marksman, a

para-legal, a professional body

guard, and a member of a crack

military patrol squad.

In fact the skills required of a

law enforcement officer are so

specialized that in Utah they are

not offered in any college or

university curriculum, but rather

through only one academy: The

Police Standards Training

Academy.

To get into the main campus of

this specialized school you

actually have to have already

been hired by a law enforcement

agency, and while offering the

course to non-hired students, the

7 satellite academies located at

traditional education

institutions, are still governed

by the academy.

The course is divided into three

certifications. Special function

officer (SFO), Basic Corrections

Officer (BCO) and Law Enforcement

Officer or (LEO). All applicants

have to take and pass the SFO

course to continue. If your goal

is to be a bailiff, reserve

officer, or a constable, this is

all the training you need. From

there, jail officers complete the

BCO and Law Enforcement officers

the LEO.

To pass the LEO course have to be

physically present for at least

588 hours of in class or hands on

instruction. There are topics

you might expect like: Emergency

Vehicle Operations; pedestrian

stop and approach; traffic

accident investigation and report

writing, and topics you might not

think of such as: Crimes against

government; court demeanor and

testifying; natural weapons

defense, or Law enforcement

encounters with citizen dogs!

In addition to all this training,

you will have to be versed on the

entire, Utah Criminal Code,

Homeland security laws, and the

Utah and U.S. constitution. (You

see, it is hard to enforce the

law if you don't know what it is)

To top all of this off you have

to be proficient in first aid and

CPR.

Each student has to sit for and

pass a final exam and meet

additional requirements to earn

the right to wear his or her

badge like: Meet a list of

physical condition requirements

A candidate will have no criminal

record, a valid driver's license

and be a U.S. citizen, and most

important possess a desire to serve

and a passion for justice.

It is not work that will ever

make you money rich, but if you

are the right personality, it can

be oh so ever rewarding. Best of

all, there are no shortages of

jobs for good officers anywhere

you go in the state. In fact

your interest in becoming an

officer will help deal with a

major problem our Sheriff

Departments are having state wide

as we will discuss when we come

back to The County Seat. I'm Ria

Rossi Booth

Welcome back to The County Seat we are

talking today in our discussion part about

Sheriffs as Ria alluded to in her story on POST

there is a shortage, this is not a slight it's a

severe shortage of eligible deputies coming out

of POST and there is not a single county across

the State that isn't looking for extra help in the

Sheriff's Dept. for deputies. Joining us for

discussions about the problems and possibly

the solutions from Sevier County representing

the rural counties Nathan Curtis, the Sheriff of

Sevier County and we have Rosie Rivera the

new Sheriff of Salt Lake County who didn't have

to drive as far but has busy schedule so we will

get our conversation under way so we can get

you guys on your way and on to your day and

thank you for joining us.

So I want to start the conversation by just

asking where do the shortages come from,

spot?

I think a lot of it has to do with that there is a

cultural change where people do not want to be

police officers anymore also the retirement

system changed so there is not a real incentive

when you have to work 25 years and get less

than the person you are working side by side

with that has Tier one state retirement its 20

years and you get 50% but you are working

right next to someone else that has to work 25

years.

So that was a recent change the legislature

went through about 4 years ago did we make

any headway I know it was big topic in the

legislature to try and get that corrected.

We did not get anywhere with that a big part of

it is the public opinion of it. When I was hired

on about 20 years ago that was part of the

enticement to come into law enforcement is

hey in 20 years you can retire and play and that

is why we are going to pay you only 10 bucks an

hour we are going to pay you less now because

you can do that later on. That option was taken

away and so a lot of our officers you are seeing

them not stick around we are losing a lot on the

upper end the bottom end it is hard to get new

people just because of that very reason the

retirement the pay the legislature changing

different things on us.

So are you actually losing officers that have

already gone through POST and been in the

field and thae retirement changed and they go

oh forget this?

They cannot see themselves working 25 years

for a young person 25 years is a long time.

Especially when you hit that 20 years and

partially in this line of work. You have to be

able to run mile and half and got to be able to

scale walls and pull yourself over its not easy

work.

Absolutely, it's just the day to day that is why it

was set originally at 20 years the things you see

and the things you deal with every day tends to

burn out a lot of people and so if they get

beyond that 20 years say 25 to 30 years and you

look at those men and women some of them

are really jaded about how things are done and

they get very burned out we don't become as

effective when we are that way.

So how do we solve the problem I mean we

cannot just go on stealing form each other. I

noticed you guys were like how many deputies

do you have I'm not going to tell you when you

walked in here today.

There are some things we can try and do we can

try to retain the employees that we have which

is still really tough because the job market is

right now anybody can go out and get a job and

make the same as a deputy makes. Right away

so we will have to start raising the pay more

and more and that is what we have been doing

in this crisis is we are all competing and raising

our pay to catch up with the next agency. I am

going to be taking to the Sheriffs a suggestion of

maybe hiring officers at a younger age 18, 19 or

21 but only for jails. Not for the law

enforcement side just to come in the jail there

are some jobs that they can possibly do but that

is a huge change to what we have been doing.

I guess that begs a question why not just wait

until they are 21?

If you wait until they are 21 there is a gap when

they get out of high school they have 3 years

but in those 3 years they either get married

have children find jobs or some of them even

find themselves in trouble and then they cannot

pass a background so if we can get them right

out of high school military does it all the time

and we train them well we should be able to

have them work in a jail. Law enforcement side

is always going to take from the jails. We train

our people very very well and they like that

they like experienced officers to go to the road

if we could even have them for that 3 year

period that still going to help us out. So I guess

the background check is kind of a stunner to me

is that has that significantly changed. Have

other states lowered their standards?

I do not know what other states are doing I

know other states are not quite as intense as

the state of Utah is and what we accept for

offices but I know in the years that I have been

a sheriff it has changed requirements on drug

use, things like that those things have been

loosened little bit so that we can still allow for

that.

Some of the deputies that you have hired today

could not have gotten hired when you got

hired?

Most of the ones I have been lucky enough to

hire I have a couple that were turned down that

were considered but years ago we would not

even accepted their application at all.

Do you think part of this is a problem that the

perception of law enforcement officers people

still think it's like a technical school and training

is that it is like 6 months of training and they

don't realize that you have got to understand

the entire criminal code you have to understand

Homeland Security and all these different areas

of law. Between that and the psychology and

the hostage negotiation it's tougher being a law

enforced officer than it's ever been. Do you

think there is apperception that people do not

understand the skill set is required verses what

they think the job is?

I think people understand what is required but I

think the attitude towards it all across the

board everything from our county

commissioners our state legislatures the

general media and public have perception that

we are not as important or that it's not a good

of career so they are not willing to put the

money or the attitude towards it that this is a

good career and an honorable profession and

we want to have the best people we can.

At some point though it's going to implode isn't

it? At some point if you are losing people to say

oil field security officers because they can make

60 grand a year and there is no way a deputy is

every going to make that and all of the sudden

your shortage will continue to grow until you

are not down 8 but down 25 then people start

getting hurt because there are not enough law

enforcement. Is that what we are going to have

to go to until it changes?

You know I think that law enforcement will

always step up and make sure those

communities are safe but I think he real issues

is going to be in the jails. If you cannot staff a

jail law enforcement side cannot be booking in

then what do you do. We have a situation right

now Salt Lake County jail we are down about 88

deputies right now trying to hire and all the

other agencies around us are taking our people

but they don't realize when you do that it

affects you as well because if we have you put

people in then what happens.

I know you are too gracious to say this but I can

say it so Salt Lake City comes in and they hire

away your jail staff they put them out on the

beat they arrest somebody and send them to

the jail they stole the deputy from and you got

no way to book them. You are having more

problems staffing then the total number of beds

available.

We are having more problems right now with

staffing but we are at full capacity and we have

been for several years.

What is your situation like in Richfield?

I have replaced a fifth of my office in the last

four months. We did a hiring back last October

we had 4 applicants. 4 applicants and only one

of them passed the background and

interviewing process then when we told him

how much his pay check was going to be he

says that's okay I'm going to the prison for $3

more. I wasn't able to hire anybody because of

where we were pay wise. The other thing we

can consider especially when it comes to the

jails when you are that short staffed now you

are going to be paying overtime to cover that

and when you start paying overtime that affects

her budget my budget all of our budgets and

then those guys get burned out as well. Then

when we really need them for other things they

are not willing to come in.

Basically they are done at 15 years instead of 20

or 25.

Right.

How do you fix the problem? I hate to use

magic wand people make fun of me for saying it

too much but if you could write a prescriptions,

that's a new one, if you could write a

prescription to solve the problem hand it to the

Governor and the Legislature and your county

commissioners what would the prescription be?

I would first start with the retirement system.

We have to change something. We cannot

have the same people working in the same

department side by side with 2 different

benefits. We lose people that way we lose our

Tier 2. Also I do believe if we take a look at

changing the age for the jails for corrections

that could help where pay is always an issue we

are always competing with pay and until we

figure it out that is what we are going to have to

do is keep paying and paying more and more

money.

Do we just have to find more money?

Pay is a portion of it. When it comes to a point

where the pay is not the worry then it helps the

work environment so it's a combination of all

the above exactly what we have been talking

about. It's your work environment, it's your pay

its people working on a task force side by side

doing the same job getting completely different

pay those things affect it but also we need to

and I think Sheriff Rivera is exactly right we start

in High Schools a bit and do a law enforcement

class and they also learn that I have to wait 3

years and go do something else in the

meantime and those things happen and we

have to continue that progression all the way

from high school find way to keep them

involved in what they are doing and excited

about it and continued hat process. So pay is a

big part retirement is a big part but work

environment is a big deal and we need to

continue that process.

So there you go the prescription has been

written all you legislatures you need to pick it

up study it and look at thank you so much for

your input today we are going to come back

with the County Seat in just a minute we are

going to go on the ground in one county to find

out how a deputy shortage actually affects their

day to day operation. Stay with us we will be

back on The County Seat.

Welcome back to The County Seat.

So far today we have looked at

how we get a pool of qualified

through the POST Academy which is

required whether you are hired or

elected as a sheriff. It is

important to note that while most

POST certifications are paid for

by the hiring agency, people can

get the certification on their

own. We have also examined the

causes of the shortages and

explored some possible solutions,

but to consider the impact of

what a shortage does to an agency

and the community, we need to go

On The Ground.

Hello I am Sheriff Mark Gower with the Iron

County Sheriff's office in southern Utah My job

is to patrol the unincorporated areas of Iron

County as well as operate the county

correctional facility,

So one of the main issues we have within the

state of Utah is that state wide the officers are

down 600 throughout the state agencies have

that open and void area to try and fill 600 slots.

Where we have lost some deputies both to

corrections and patrol to agencies that are

offering these incentive packages and it's

created a deficit of employees here that has

resulted in lots of overtime for deputies both

corrections and patrol that are working. And

general staffing shortages that put in the long

run public safety as issue because we are not

running at full staff and employees are starting

to get burned out because they are working so

much.

So here is where we control all movement

within the correctional facilities as far as the

inmates and corrections deputies. Staff

shortages over here have resulted in a lot of

overtime costs. And employee's correction

deputies are working more hours then they

really should be because of shortages. Its tough

on them when they are away from their families

that much they get burned out. It just has an

effect on them eventually they want to see a

light at the end of the tunnel where they cannot

put in so many hours but as far as them doing

their job and doing it well that's still in place

they still come to work each day with their

game face on and are ready to go to work.

Some of them are working in a two week period

are putting in upwards of 150 hours in a two

week period to cover the staff shortage over

here

It's a struggle there are a lot of things that

contribute to it, I think on a local level we are

doing everything we can to attract people in to

this profession. But again its going to come

down to our senators and our representatives

in state government listening to law

enforcement leaders.

We have a plan moving forward to keep

recruiting and retain employees because in the

long run we lose employees it an expense to the

tax payer. It costs the tax payer money when

we have to re train. Our incentive is to maintain

and retain our employees so that's not a burden

to the tax payer.

We'll be right back with my final

thoughts on The County Seat.

Welcome back to the County Seat

If you are like me, the

conversation about law

enforcement shortages usually

only comes up on the radar scope

when there are budget fights at

the county and I interpret the

warnings of county leaders saying

that "without increased spending

there will be staff reductions at

the sheriff's office" as a hollow

threat to get support for tax

increases. I interpret it as a

scare tactic.

But as we have seen today, the

impact of not having the right

compensation along with a culture

of support for law enforcement in

a community, will eventually lead

to no one being available when

danger comes to your house. We

spend oodles of money on

education, as well we should, as

Sheriff Curtis pointed out, but

how much less important is our

safety at home and our

responsibility to justly punish

those who are incarcerated?

Maybe the old library is fine for

right now.. maybe the old swing

set at the city park will do.

Those seem like problems of

privilege in comparison to our

safety as citizens in town, on

the street and in our own back

yard. Wherever we live in Utah,

we should all want well trained

people to protect us, we should

want to be picking the cream of

the crop of people with a desire

to serve instead of scraping the

barrel.

After all, we grant them power to

detain us, we grant them power to

restrain us, we even grant them

the right of lethal force to

execute their duties. Don't we

want the people in those

positions who are equipped of the

best temperament and training to

apply those powers judiciously?

I would hope so. To bring this

into focus, this is not a problem

in someone else's county, this is

a problem in yours. It is

currently affecting every county

in the state.

So it is time for us to delve

into this as responsible citizens

and advise our elected

representatives as to how to

proceed. And that is my two

cents worth for today. Thanks

for watching, we will see you

next week on The County Seat.

Shortage of Sheriff's in Utah: The Basics - Duration: 3:47.

hat and join the world of law

enforcement. That is a noble

ambition, in fact, my nephew

followed that path back in

central Illinois. It was very

hard work and required more from

him than his college education

had.

You see, most people think that

to be a deputy all you need to

know is how to shoot a gun, drive

a car fast, tackle the bad guy

and read them their Miranda

Rights. Something that you might

learn in one quarter at a

technical college or by watching

five seasons of Hawaii 50, but in

reality, law enforcement officers

have to wear several hats.

In any given hour of duty they

might have to wear the hat of a

psychologist, a negotiator, a

technical writer, a race car

driver, an expert marksman, a

para-legal, a professional body

guard, and a member of a crack

military patrol squad.

In fact the skills required of a

law enforcement officer are so

specialized that in Utah they are

not offered in any college or

university curriculum, but rather

through only one academy: The

Police Standards Training

Academy.

To get into the main campus of

this specialized school you

actually have to have already

been hired by a law enforcement

agency, and while offering the

course to non-hired students, the

7 satellite academies located at

traditional education

institutions, are still governed

by the academy.

The course is divided into three

certifications. Special function

officer (SFO), Basic Corrections

Officer (BCO) and Law Enforcement

Officer or (LEO). All applicants

have to take and pass the SFO

course to continue. If your goal

is to be a bailiff, reserve

officer, or a constable, this is

all the training you need. From

there, jail officers complete the

BCO and Law Enforcement officers

the LEO.

To pass the LEO course have to be

physically present for at least

588 hours of in class or hands on

instruction. There are topics

you might expect like: Emergency

Vehicle Operations; pedestrian

stop and approach; traffic

accident investigation and report

writing, and topics you might not

think of such as: Crimes against

government; court demeanor and

testifying; natural weapons

defense, or Law enforcement

encounters with citizen dogs!

In addition to all this training,

you will have to be versed on the

entire, Utah Criminal Code,

Homeland security laws, and the

Utah and U.S. constitution. (You

see, it is hard to enforce the

law if you don't know what it is)

To top all of this off you have

to be proficient in first aid and

CPR.

Each student has to sit for and

pass a final exam and meet

additional requirements to earn

the right to wear his or her

badge like: Meet a list of

physical condition requirements

A candidate will have no criminal

record, a valid driver's license

and be a U.S. citizen, and most

important possess a desire to serve

and a passion for justice.

It is not work that will ever

make you money rich, but if you

are the right personality, it can

be oh so ever rewarding. Best of

all, there are no shortages of

jobs for good officers anywhere

you go in the state. In fact

your interest in becoming an

officer will help deal with a

major problem our Sheriff

Departments are having state wide

as we will discuss when we come

back to The County Seat. I'm Ria

10 Behaviors People Don't Realize They Display Because They Are Intuitive - Duration: 5:24.

Intuitive personality is classified as a personality of people, who have more interest in theory,

abstract things, and possibilities rather than the practical and concrete reality of

the world.

Also, most of intuitive people actually don't know that they have such personality since

they don't realize it.

Are you one of them?

Well, if you show these signs in your life, you might be one of the people with intuitive

personality.

Let's take a deeper look at highly intuitive people.

If you're new to our channel, please subscribe, click the bell and watch this video until

the end to know the complete information.

10 Behaviors People Don't Realize They Display Because They Are Intuitive.

#1.

Sometimes They feel like don't belong here.

Do you ever feel like you are not in the right place?

Or, you feel like you are lonely whereas you are in a crowd?

If you do so, it may be a sign that you are an intuitive person.

Intuitive persons have a different way of thinking than other people do.

They got that idealistic thought which can make them feeling frustrated because of the

gap between what they think and what the world really is.

#2.

Living by their own rules.

Because intuitive people find it difficult to understand the reality of the world and

its rules, they make rules for themselves.

Maybe some people think that persons with this intuitive personality are somewhat selfish.

However, they do so not without any reasons.

They judge the existed rule is only a barrier for them to develop.

#3.

Emotional decision making.

Most of intuitive person do decision making based on their emotion as they don't care

much about logic.

What the next step they should take is often determined by what they are feeling.

#4.

Imagining and dreaming big things.

Speaking of dream and imagination, intuitive persons are in the top of the list.

They are adapted to long term vision, set the goal and plan on how to reach the goal.

#5.

Prefer to be alone.

It may sound crazy, but we can't deny that intuitive persons are considered as solitary

creatures.

They live inside their own minds as the world's noise will only distract them.

Dreaming and arranging plans are their priority, after that they can socialize with other just

as an interlude.

#6.

Conservative.

Have you ever met a new person that anybody around you likes him or her, but your inner

self warn you not to get too close to them?

It's like yourself shouting "Stop right there!

Stay away from them!"

For some people, this might be considered as paranoia, but what if we say that it is

intuitive person's nature?

#7.

Prone to addiction.

A bad thing that an intuitive person may have is that when they don't realize that they

have intuitive personality, and they want to get rid of their intuition, they may find

alcohol, cigarettes, or even drugs as an emergency exit.

#8.

Hunted by psychic.

Do you ever feel like there are some people are getting their eyes on you?

Well, this frequently happen to intuitive persons, even if the reality is not.

#9.

Stalked by synchronicity.

Your intuition might put you into the external world when you don't realize you have that

intuitive personality.

It shows up like a holy revelation that makes you feel awesome.

#10.

They socialize selectively.

People with dominant intuitive personality may see the interaction with people is an

exhausting activity.

However, they are actually excellent in making a good quality conversation, since they tend

to apply a strict selection to whom they are socializing.

Well, those are the 10 behaviors people don't realize they display because they are intuitive.

How To Remove Heavy Brake Dust? Review & Test of NEW Spectrum Reflex Wheel Cleaner - Duration: 6:08.

Hey everybody Brock Frady here helping you enjoy your ride. One of the most

important things to me in all of car ownership is good-looking wheels . And

the best way in the whole wide world to maintain a good-looking wheel is to not

have all that nasty brake dust on your wheel. And it's not just for good looks.

It's for the overall maintenance of your wheels as well because if brake dust

sticks to your wheels and it stays there it can literally etch into the alloy,

aluminum alloy of your wheel and it can actually damage it. And we're gonna do

something about brake dust thanks to Spectrum Reflex All Wheel and Tire

Cleaner. These guys reached out to me and they said hey we love your videos. We've

been fans for a while. We love your content. We think you're the best

automotive Youtuber in the whole world. Your personality is so funny, just bring

light into our lives. In fact we have no idea. And this is their first product. It's

called Reflex. I love this stuff. I've used it before and it's so cool what it

does. See the top of that wheel right there? And here's the thing about brake

dust. It absolutely gets everywhere and you can see it doesn't look so bad right

there. Look down in there down into that crevice. The carbon from the brake pad

itself is is literally going to etch the wheel if it's left on there long enough.

Now you've seen wheels that look much worse than this. You can tell when people

simply don't wash their vehicles. You know that the wheels actually look black.

These don't look as bad until you do this. Check this out. Look at that!

So that left on your wheels is not good. That's just, that's just bad. That's what

my wheel could look like but because that brake dust it looks blackish. Have

you ever noticed that most cars have dark wheels that are covered in brake

dust up front and not as bad in the back? In fact the back wheels look like they

don't have any brake dust on them at all. The brakes in the back are what's called

drum brakes and it's a contained system so that the brake rotor is not exposed

and it doesn't allow the brake dust to come off of the pad and on to the wheel

itself. It's contained inside of what's called a drum and on

any car with disc brakes up front you can see that reflective looking thing. It

almost looks like a mirror behind the wheel there. That is the brake rotor. And

pads squeeze that rotor. The pads are contained inside of that and they

squeeze the rotor. They cause the car to stop. And what squeezes that rotor is

what that comes from. It's actually dust that comes off of that pad. So let's get

rid of that mess right now. And here's another thing I like. Simple stuff. Look

at those directions. Spray. Wait. Scrub. Rinse. Spray the entire wheel generously

with cleaner. Wait until the surface turns deep red or purple. Scrub any

additional grime and surface gunk. And clean with warm water.

Now I would say compared to what that looked like before I started or you know

use the spray that looks absolutely fantastic. All right so that's the

passenger side wheel and there's your driver side passenger side driver side.

Passenger side, driver's side. Passenger side, driver's side. Passenger side, driver

side. Passenger side, driver's side. I don't know about you but I think this

stuff did pretty well. And I love the fact that it changes colors. It just kind

of makes it kind of entertaining for simple people like me. So there it is.

SpectrumRreflex and this is like I said that first of what I think is at least

three products for right now. And I'm looking forward to testing the other

ones in the future. If you want to get any of this stuff there's a website that

you can go to and that is Spectrumautocare.com/discount/howtocarguy

or you can just go to the Spectrumautocare.com

website, buy some of that stuff, and enter a coupon code howtocarguy for 10% off

of your order. That's pretty cool and I'll also be sure to leave a link to

Spectrumautocare.com in the comment section below so you can look them up

and then get yourself hooked up with some of this fantastic tire and wheel

cleaner. I like it. Thanks Spectrum Auto Care for sponsoring this video. And

thanks everybody for watching and learning how to take care of that

disgusting, inconvenient, and possibly money costing brake dust. And I hope this

helps you enjoy your ride. Remember to subscribe and

have a great day everybody!
