Atelier Pruno : The best sugarbush tools on the market
This is the Pruno Quick Dropline Tool.
It is quick indeed : we can make up to 400 droplines an hour.
This machine has an integrated cutting system.
We put a winder on the side to distribute the tube and we pull the tube into the machine.
As we pull the press-lever to install a spout or a T on the first end,
the system activates the tube cutter.
We can disable the cutter by removing the pin.
We can choose to disable the cutter and only insert the fittings, with pre-cut tubes for example.
When there are kids around, we can remove the pin and the cutter does not work.
We can also adjust the droplines length from 24" to 40".
We simply unscrew here...
and we remove the cutter pin.
Now we can extend the bar in lengths of 2"...
24, 26, 28, ... up to 40 inches.
We screw it back to fix the bar.
In this case here, we are ready to make 32" droplines.
We put the pin back to enable the cutter.
Now the machine will cut and make 32" droplines.
For this demo, I will put it back to the 24" mode,
which is the shortest the machine can do.
We tighten the screw and put the pin back
in order to enable the cutter.
The winder should be about 10' away from the machine.
We bring the tube through the guide (cylinder).
The guide will keep the tube aligned with the cutter.
We have a stopper for our hand here.
It serves as a reference for the length of the tube.
We have the same stopper here.
We grab the tube, pull and bring it to the plier.
And where our hand stops, because of the second stopper, is where we should stop and grip the tube.
We will insert the first fitting.
We insert a spout and the tube automatically gets cut 24" long.
We flip it around and do the other end with a T.
And the first dropline is done!
Let's make an other dropline.
You see? The cutter is activated.
Let's grab the tube and bring it all the way to the plier.
We put either a T or a spout.
And, as we activate the system to insert the T, we cut the tube.
We flip it around, and we are ready to do the other end with a spout.
The machine works with all different kinds of spouts and Tees.
Whichever type of fitting (dimensions / material) will work with this machine.
This tool is also available without the cutter.
The Dropline Machine without cutter would be this part here.
We also have a version for the workbench...
This is the Workbench Quick Droplines Machine.
There are holes to fix it on the table.
We can screw it on the workbench either vertically or horizontally.
If we use it horizontally, we use it just like the version with cutter we just showed in this video.
The system is the same...
We bring our tube and insert the fittings like with the other machine.
