Waching daily Oct 25 2017

Okay, wait, wait, wait.

Glasses on or off?

On or off?

This is off.

This is on.

Off.

I'm thinking off!

It'll be like a teen movie where the shy girl gets a makeover!

I'm Kathleen Whinn-eh.

Winnie?

Is it Winnie?

Whine-neh...What?

How do you pronounce that?

I'm Kathleen Wynne, and I'm running for re-election.

Sorry, it's a reflex.

I know you're all "maaad" at me right now, but if re-elected, I promise to work

hard for everyone in Toronto...I mean Ontario!

Eff it all to h!

By raising the minimum wa— I swallowed a bee.

No, keep it rolling.

It'll look metaphorical.

Hi, I'm Kathleen Wynne, and I put booze in grocery stores.

Any questions?

I have a problem with this next line, the one that says "sex ed, lol."

There's nothing funny about sex ed.

Ohhhh!

"Sex ed 101!"

You want us to act like we're friends?

What do friends do?

I'm unfamiliar.

Boop.

Something...hahahahahahaha...

So get ready, Ontario because Wynne-ter is coming.

That's a good thing, right?

I don't watch Game of Bones.

The MacArthur Study Bible and Unexpected Growth - Duration: 1:46.

You know, twenty years ago when I finished the Study Bible and it was published, I was

so grateful that the English-speaking world would have an

explanation of the precious Word of God.

What I never ever imagined would be that that Bible would be translated into language after

language after language,

including Chinese and Arabic and Portuguese and Spanish and German and Russian and more

to come.

I always have believed, of course, that the Word of God is not bound.

I mean in its original language it's Hebrew and Greek, not English, so it was always intended

for the world.

It is not bound.

The Word of God is intended for the world and for all peoples throughout all history

in all situations.

But the Study Bible sort of brought that into reality.

When I think about somebody in China reading the Study Bible or Arabic people in the Middle

East--

When I think about people in Latin America, people in Europe, in France--

I remember introducing the Study Bible in Geneva in Calvin's Cathedral where he preached

and thinking how wonderful is this!

The Word of God, the same thing I wrote originally, is the truth of God explained, it knows no

bounds, and it can speak to these people in French as John Calvin did half a millennium

earlier.

So I think that's the big surprise is that the world has found it a helpful tool.

GORIŠKA BRDA: Wine Region Part II | Visit Slovenia Vlog - Duration: 3:37.

We have to be careful not to be stung by bees, right?!

Meet out Brda tour guide, Tomaž!

Famous Brda beekeeper.

We are at the location of one of the beehives.

We need bees in Goriska Brda to pollinate our fruit trees.

And this is like the symbiosis between cultures that we grow here from the fruit trees,

also vines and these olive trees.

During the history we changed how to keep the bees.

These ones are really old school.

Gets inside from the bottom.

These beehives here are named after Anton Znidarcic.

We keep the bees inside and it's a different type of beehive that are only used in Slovenia,

mostly used in Slovenia.

Bees are not only good for honey producing but also for the apitherapy.

Let's go inside and boost our health.

Now let's take a look also on the inside of the beehives.

You can see here the bees living in their native world in their houses.

The apitherapy offers this inhaling of aerosols that are good for respiratory system.

And these aerosols help people with asthma with their problems.

Not only for the beehives but we have also special type of bee called "Kranjska sivka".

She's really hardworking and tender and doesn't like to sting you very much

as the other bees.

So, like the people from Brda.

They're tender and that's why we can be here and don't get attract by them.

Yaaay, another castle.

Almost.

This is Gredic.

It's famous because they film here telenovela.

Slovenian one.

And it's also a high-class hotel and underground is a really really beautiful wine cellar.

So, we are enjoying a glass of Ribolla or Rebula in Slovenian in San Martin.

It's a hotel.

In one of the many wine cellars in Brda.

Tower with the most amazing view of Brda.

And sunsets here are truly something else.

30 60 90 Day Plan for New Managers - Duration: 7:25.

All right, this week, I'm going to be talking about my strategies I use in my first 90 days

as a leader in a new role, whether it be promoting within the same company or be changing companies,

you're gonna learn a lot today that you can use for that.

Also, if you're not in a leadership role, the things I'm going to be teaching you, you

can use it in your business, you can use it in your life so make sure you stick around

and watch.

I'm Roman Ryder.

On this channel, I teach you how to unlock your powers and be the hero of your story.

If you're new to my channel, please click below to subscribe.

I put out new videos every week and you don't want to miss out.

All right, so your first 30 days.

If you're new in the role, first 30 days is all about communication.

First of all, you got to get out and talk to all your people but most importantly, in

that first 30 days, you need to sit down with your direct reports, whether it be supervisors,

engineers, whatever it is that you do.

You need to talk to your direct reports and you're gonna use something here.

This is one for you people that aren't leaders that you're gonna love.

It's called either the FORD Technique or the FORM Technique, so F is for family, O is for

occupation, R is for recreation, and D is is for dreams or M is for money, depending

on which way you learned it.

So anyway, so you want to ask them questions along those lines and get to know them.

Take lots of notes, if they give you birthdays, that type of thing, wives names, all that

kind of stuff.

For me, I like to put it in my cell phone.

It's in my calendar.

I never miss anybody's birthday, even people that worked for me in the past because those

relationships you build are important.

They're gonna be a part of your life, part of your work family.

So you want to keep in touch with them and keep track of those things.

Now the next thing I like to do is kind of a mini version of a SWOT.

I'll get to what a SWOT is later, but we're gonna concentrate right now on the S and the

W, strengths and weaknesses.

So you want to find out what they consider their strengths are and what they consider

their weaknesses are.

Here's the thing.

You don't want to try and fix their weaknesses.

What you're looking for is what they enjoy and what they feel they're strong at.

Down the road, you're gonna be trying to find ways to use those strengths to your advantage,

to put them in roles that they enjoy, that they excel at and will help your organization

the most.

All right, so once you get those things done, you're starting to get a feel for what's going

on.

You've been talking to everybody.

Now, remember one thing is that perception is reality, so for all these people you're

talking to, whatever their perception is, that's reality.

But it's not necessarily your organization's reality.

So keep that in mind.

You want to take into consideration what they're telling you.

Down the road, you might want to consider addressing it in some way, but it may not

be totally a truth.

It may just be kind of their truth, so you may shift some things around to kind of get

rid of that perception.

But it may just not be the true case.

It may just kind of be what your organization considers as true.

So that's kind of vague, but I don't want to go any into any details and some of the

situations I've come across in the past because I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings or

anything like that.

So anyway, so keep that in mind, so you're 30 days in.

What do you do?

You need to make a small change.

Some people like change.

Some people don't.

Most people don't, but it's important about 30 days in to make some sort of change.

Let everybody know you're there.

People are expecting you to make some changes, so if you don't make changes and they're not

happy with the current organization, they're gonna be like, "Hey, what's going on?

We're waiting for this new guy to do something, this new lady to do something."

So go ahead and make some sort of change, especially if you can address something that

you've heard multiple people complaining about in that first 30 days because that can be

a quick win.

It's gonna make you look good.

It's gonna make everybody feel better about you being there and taking over their team,

their organization.

So now let's get onto the next 60 days, so obviously continue to communicate.

I go out on a daily basis and I talk to people because if you don't know what's wrong, you

can't fix it.

But in that first 60 days, you need to start really digging in to all the things you're

hearing.

So if you're hearing people complain about this, that, and the other, if you're seeing

some issues possibly, this is your time to start gathering facts, start asking the harder

questions about those things.

Take lots of notes, once again because you're gonna need them later and start to really

dig in and find out what the current situation is, what's fiction, what's fact, what's the

reality of this organization, and you're gonna start to kind of figure out where you want

to head.

Maybe at that 60 day part point, if there's anything else that comes up that you really

feel like you need to address and change, go ahead and make another small change or

two.

You don't want to do anything just drastic yet because you don't necessarily have your

team's buy-in yet.

So you want to get them on board.

All right, so now onward to the 90-day point.

Okay, so now it's time to really sit down with your team and go into that SWOT that

I talked about before.

So you're looking at strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

I give everybody a pad of stickies.

If you can get one of those big sticky sheets or wipe board or whatever you have to do,

split it up into four quadrants, S, W, O, T.

Tell everybody to write down everything they can think of on the stickies and put it where

it goes, whether it be a strength, a weakness, an opportunity, or threat.

Then you want to try and figure out how you can turn those weaknesses into strengths,

how you can turn those threats into opportunities and start to identify where your organization

is going.

You can also take those if you watch my Pareto Principle a couple weeks ago.

Go back and look at that video.

I talk about how to do impact versus ease.

You can take some of those things and throw them on the Impact, Ease and start to figure

out kind of maybe your top 10 things you wanna to knock out this year kind of deal.

The remainder of the year or whatever point you're at.

All right, also another great thing to talk about with your team is what your mission's

gonna be for your organization.

If you need help with that, if you go to my website, romanryder.com, there's a free course

there for finding your Why.

I actually teach you how to kind of use that to find your organization's why and to make

a vision or a mission statement.

All right, so now, you should have a pretty good idea of who's in your organization, what

their strengths and weaknesses are, get an idea of what people's concerns are in your

organization, where the opportunities are.

You identified those strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Maybe you've made some top 10 goals for the year and hopefully, you've got a mission or

vision statement.

You've got your team's buy-in.

That's what's most important, right?

Because you have to get people behind you because you can't do it by yourself.

This is a team effort.

It takes everybody to win, so now you're ready to get rolling and you're through your first

90 days.

So if this sounds good to you, one thing you can do is look in the description below.

I'm including a link to my new Facebook group called The Hero Mastermind.

This is gonna be an awesome place for us to connect online and also for you to connect

with other people that have the same kind of interests as you as far as, hopefully,

some people are into the same kind of pop culture stuff as we are and also people that

are looking to be the bard or the hero of their workplace.

I just want to connect with y'all and find out what y'all need, how I can help you and

help you grow and go along your journey to become a hero.

How to Make a Toy Camera - DIY Crafts - Duration: 5:07.

Ching! Say Science!

Today, we'll be making a toy camera. It's so easy and fun to make.

I will show you the materials that you will need for your toy camera.

You'll need a plain sheet of paper, construction paper, bottle caps, foam paper, a Popsicle stick, some beads, duct tape, glue, scissors, pencil and most of all your box.

I'm using a cardboard jewelry box. You can use any cardboard box on hand.

First step, take a sheet of paper, put the bottom of the box down and trace it out.

Cut out the shape you traced out.

With the piece you just cut out, cut half an inch on all sides. This is your template.

Cut out several pieces of the same size. These will be your 'photographs'.

To make the camera strap, slowly unroll the duct tape.

Keep on folding until the sticky sides come together.

Keep doing this till you've reached your desired length.

Take a piece of duct tape, wrap it around the box but make sure not to cover one end so you can open and close it.

To make your lens, you'll need a large bottle cap. Glue onto the front of the box.

Here is you camera lens!

This is your small shutter button, glue it onto the top, right side of your camera.

Cut out a rectangular piece of construction paper for your camera display. Glue it onto the back.

Take your beads, use them for lights and buttons and glue them onto your camera.

You can other use other supplies to make your camera. You can decorate it however way you like.

Use duct tape to secure your strap onto the box.

Ching! Now, your camera is ready!

Remember those papers that you cut out? You can draw in advance or you can draw as you see it.

Here's one of my photographs.

Don't forget you can store your photos in your camera.

Camtasia Tutorial: How To Make Interactive Videos Using Hotspots - Duration: 17:34.

Do you want to take your videos to the next level by making them interactive?

Well, in this video I'm going to show you an easy way to add interactivity to your

video projects without coding, using the video editing application Camtasia.

Hey, it's Mike with more tips and tools to help you create engaging, informative,

and educational video. And if it's your first time here make sure you hit the

big subscribe button, and don't forget to click the little bell icon so you don't

miss a thing. Interactivity seems to be the holy grail

of online media these days, whether you're making educational videos, or

product demos for your video marketing. But up until now, creating an interactive

video was beyond the reach of most of us. It required coding and some fairly

sophisticated and complex software. Well, that's no longer the case with software

application packages like Camtasia. Camtasia is a screen capture and video

editing application, but it also has the ability to create interactive videos

using a feature called Hotspots. In a nutshell hotspots allow

you to create interactive areas in your video. Let's hop on into Camtasia so I

can show you how Hotspots work. So, here we are in Camtasia. This is Camtasia 3

for Mac. There's also a Windows version of Camtasia that's up to version 9.

Hotspots work exactly the same way in both versions, so whether you're on Mac

or Windows this tutorial will be useful. So, I've created this demo project, here. I

have this video on my timeline and we're going to make it interactive using

Hotspots. So, to get started I'll go over to the Media Panel

and I'll scroll down and select the Visual Effects section, not the

Interactivity section, as you'd expect. If you go to the Interactivity section

you'll only find Camtasia's interactive quiz feature, not hotspots. Not terribly

intuitive, I know. You'd think you'd find Hotspots in the Interactivity section.

We have to go to the Visual Effects section and there at the bottom is

Interactive Hotspots. Okay, let's add a Hotspot to our project. To do that I'll

click and drag a Hotspot onto the timeline and... what's going on here, where

is the Hotspot? Well, what you need to understand is that Hotspots are not an

object under themselves. They don't exist on their own in Camtasia. To make a

Hotspot work you need to add it to another object. You can add Hotspots to pretty

much any type of media object in your project - a shape, a piece of text, an

image, even a video clip. This will make more sense if I show it to you, so let's

back up. Remember, Hotspots need to be attached to a media object, so the first

thing I'm going to do is create an object for the Hotspot. I'm going to

create a button and I'm going to do that using a Callout. So, I'm going to scroll

up in the Media Panel and select Annotations and select the

Callouts section, and we have this wide selection of

Callouts. I'm just going to grab this simple Callout, here and I'm going to

click and drag it down onto my timeline and line it up with the end of this

section of the video. As you can see, a Callout is just some text with a shape

for a background. We can edit the text in this Callout by simply double-clicking

it then I'll enter "Button 1" as my label and I can place this Callout button

anywhere on the screen by clicking and dragging it, here, in the canvas. I'll just

place it, here, for now. To make this Callout button work like a button I'll

add a Hotspot to it. So, I'll go to Visual Effects and scroll down to the bottom to

Interactive Hotspot. I'll click and drag the Interactive

Hotspot and drop it onto my Callout button in the timeline. You can also drag

the Hotspot onto the actual Callout on the Canvas.

So, I'll drop the Hotspot on the Callout button and now this Callout

button is clickable. Okay, so our Hotspot is in place with our Callout button

selected. Have a look way over here at the Properties Panel. Make sure you have

the Visual Properties tab selected and when you scroll down you'll see you have

settings for Interactive Hotspot. This is where we make our Hotspot actually do

something. The first setting is Pause at End and it's checked by default. What

that means is when the playhead reaches the end of the Callout clip containing

the Hotspot the Playhead will stop and wait until the Hotspot is clicked. When

the Hotspot is clicked one of four events can occur and those four events

are represented by these four choices, here. You'll notice the fourth choice

down here Click to Continue is selected by default. This means that when the user

clicks the Hotspot the Playhead will resume playing from where it stopped.

If we select URL and enter a URL or web address in this field, here, when the user

clicks the Callout button that webpage will appear in a new browser window.

Marker jumps the Playhead to a specific marker on the timeline. When the user

clicks the Hotspot. To create a marker, you can go over here to this little

arrow at the end of the Timeline. Clicking that opens this new track in

the Timeline and you can use this new track to place Markers. So, if I select

Marker and run my cursor along this track I get this blue cross icon which

represents a Marker. So, I can drag to a spot click and that creates a Marker on

the timeline. You can also place markers directly on media clips in your timeline.

You just find a spot on the clip and click and that places a Marker. And if

you select your Marker then go over to its properties in the Properties Panel

you can rename it to keep things organized. I'm going to rename mine

"Button 1." To get out of Marker placement mode you

just go back to that arrow at the end of the timeline and click it to close the

Marker track. Now if I go back and select my Callout Hotspot to bring up its

properties in the Properties Panel and select Marker, you'll see this dropdown

menu that displays all the Markers in your project. So, here's the marker we

created: "Button 1." I'll select that so when the user clicks the Callout

Hotspot the Playhead will jump to the "Button 1" Marker. Below marker we have

Time. If you select this option when the user clicks the Hotspot the Playhead

will jump to a specific timecode in your project. And you enter that timecode in

these fields right here. So, how do you know what timecode to enter. Well, you

can find the current timecode of the Playhead right beside it.

It's these numbers right, here. So, you just drag the Playhead to the spot on

your timeline that you want to jump to, make note of the timecode, then enter

the timecode over here in the Time field. Now, you've probably noticed this

Test button down here. You use this to make sure the Hotspot is linking to the

correct destination. For example, we currently have Time selected and this

timecode that we want the playhead to go to when the user clicks the Callout.

Well, let's see if the Hotspot actually goes to that timecode, and we can do

that by clicking Test and the Playhead jumps to the timecode we entered. We can

test it with the Marker option. Let's select the Marker option and select our

one and only Marker, "Button 1" from the dropdown list, and we'll go down and

click Test and the Playhead jumps to our Button 1 Marker.

Let's try URL. I'll select the URL option and enter the URL of my website.

I'll move down and click Test and a browser window opens up and there

is the homepage of my site.

The testing feature is really useful, but how can we be sure all of our Hotspots

are working properly, how can we really test the interactivity of our project?

Well, unfortunately you can't preview your interactive project here in the

Camtasia editor. All you can do is use the Test button to test the targets for

the Hotspots. To truly test the interactivity of your Camtasia project

you need to publish it, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to pause the

video so I can build out this project with a few more Hotspots and when I come

back I'll publish the project so we can test it out.

Okay, I'm back. I added a few different types of Hotspots to our project with

additional Markers as you can see. So, let's publish this to see if everything

is working. To publish your interactive project be sure to save it first then go

up to Share on the top menu bar and select Local File from the dropdown.

You'll get this export dialog window. So, I'm going to name our project

"Interactive Test."

We'll export it to the desktop. We'll leave everything set to the defaults,

except we'll select Export as Web Page. You need to have this option selected in

order to export interactive projects out of Camtasia. You'll see why in just a

moment. In the Windows version of Camtasia the export process looks a bit

different. When you go up to the top menu and select Share and then select Local File

you get this Production Wizard Panel. You want to click the dropdown

arrow and select mp4 with Smart Player up to 480p, mp4 with Smart Player up to

720p, or mp4 with Smart Player up to 1080p, depending on the final resolution

of your video. The key is the Smart Player. It's what makes the interactivity

happen in your exported video. So, I'm gonna select mp4 with Smart Player up to

720p because that is the resolution of my demo project.

You get a description of the export preset you selected and if you look down

here in the description area you can see that it says Interactive Features such

as TOC, which is Table of Contents, Closed Captions, Quizzes and Hotspots are

included in the video. Then you just go down here and hit Next

and then on this screen you give your project a name, select or create a

destination folder and hit Finish.

Back over on the Mac, I'll hit Export and Camtasia will generate the necessary

files.

Once Camtasia is done exporting, I'll go find our published project on the

Desktop. So, here's our published project. It's a

folder and if we double-click it to open it we'll find a webpage called

"index.html" and a folder labeled "media." If we open the media folder

we'll find a collection of files - JavaScript files, video files, all kinds

of different scripts. These files make up our interactive project. So, if you wanted

to share your interactive Camtasia project online you'd need to grab this

folder, containing the "index.html" webpage and the "media" folder and upload it

to your web server, or Amazon s3, or Screencast.com, which is a hosting

service offered by TechSmith, the makers of Camtasia. Once your project is

uploaded you'd create a link to this "index.html" page and that link will

launch your interactive project in a browser window. However, you don't need to

upload these files to a web server in order to test your interactive Camtasia

project. You can test it right on your computer,

locally by just double-clicking this "index.html" file.

Your interactive Camtasia project will load into your default web

browser and you can test the interactivity. So, let's see what we've

got. I'll hit the Play arrow to start our

interactive video. "A good quality webcam can be a versatile

and cost-effective tool for creating high quality learning videos if you know

how to use it properly. If you want to get the best possible video out of these

little cameras follow these four steps."

"I'm recording right now using the blue Yeti Pro USB microphone placed just not

a shot."

"If you want to drastically improve the quality of your webcam video invest in a

good external microphone."

Just one last really important point regarding Hotspots. I'm just going to go

down on a Timeline, here, and zoom in a bit so that you can see better. Now,

remember this Pause at End setting in the hot spots Properties Panel? It causes

the Playhead to stop when it reaches the end of the Hotspot object on the

Timeline. Well, in order for this setting to work properly in the final video the

Hotspot object on the timeline needs to be at least half a second or 15 frames

long. Any shorter and the interactive video player won't have enough time to

register the pause properly and your video won't pause at the end of that

Hotspot. It'll just keep going right through or it'll pause a few frames late. Just

something to keep in mind when you're creating Hotspots. The ability to add

interactive Hotspots to just about any media object in Camtasia opens up a lot

of creative possibilities. With some solid planning and a bit of imagination,

you could create a pretty engaging and immersive video experience. Well that's

it for this video experience. I hope you found value in it. And if you want to

discover more tips and tools for creating engaging, informative, and

educational video, be sure to hit the big subscribe button on the screen, so you

don't miss a thing. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time.

Healthcare Is a Human Right—Don't Let Economics Tell You Otherwise | Nicole Hassoun - Duration: 5:37.

Several years ago the World Health Organization declared that it wasn't cost-effective to

help people get treatment for drug-resistant tuberculosis.

And there was an organization called Partners in Health that simply refused to accept this

claim they said we're going to do whatever it takes to help these people.

So they came up with a program for treating drug-resistant tuberculosis in some of the

world's most conflict-ridden, poorest places.

And they succeeded in doing it they had very good treatment outcomes.

So they thought creatively about how to come up with treatment programs that worked and

as a result funding for drug resistant TB increased spectacularly, and now many people

around the world have treatment.

So what did they do?

I think what they did is they have this virtue, which requires three things.

First, that we commit to fulfilling human rights.

Second, that we think creatively or imagine ways of doing that.

And finally, that we act to do so.

So let me explain the virtue of creative resolve a little bit more and hopefully you'll see

why I think it's really important.

So first to have the virtue one has to question evidence against the possibility of fulfilling

human rights.

We can do this in many ways so we can question the source, reliability or implications of

that evidence.

It's possible to acquiesce too quickly in the face of evidence that it's impossible

to help people, or to be so pigheaded that we refuse to accept the constraints of the

given.

The second thing that we need to do is I think consider all of the options on the table and

then use our imagination to come up with new options.

Finally, we should act to fulfill human rights.

And this requires a measure of grit, will or resoluteness.

We can't be inflexible and persist even when it is actually impossible to fulfill

rights, but at the same time we shouldn't be complacent about it.

Since change is difficult, people who don't think that it's possible or desirable to

fulfill human rights probably won't try hard to do, so hope is important for the virtue

of creative resolve.

Hope is simply believing something that one desires is possible but not certain.

Still, even when we lack a kind of hope I think we should have the virtue of creative

resolve as long as there is not conclusive evidence that fulfilling human rights isn't

possible.

So the kind of hope we need is a radical hope.

In the face of uncertainty we must persist and exercise our moral imaginations to help

people meet their basic needs.

But the reason we should have creative resolve is this: the ground for the human rights is

protecting everybody's ability to live a dignified human life, and it's really important

that we do that so we should try hard.

I think the imperative to try hard is particularly compelling given that there's a lot of psychological

evidence that people don't try hard enough.

They tend to search not far enough for solutions to problems, and many people seem to have

a narrow view of possibility and feasibility, assuming tight time frames and financial constraints.

When we imagine ourselves succeeding in tasks we're often more likely to do so, perhaps

because our imagination spurs a sense of agency and lets us set plans for the future and act

to achieve them.

The crux of my disagreement with critics of the human right to health who think we have

to ration and that the human right has to tell us how to do that is this: I don't

think that's what the human right to health has to do or even that it should, rather I

think it does something much more important for us I think it inspires us to do our best

to help everyone meet their basic needs.

Okay.

But if we do have to ration here's what I think, I think creative resolve can help

us do that.

I think it can help us find better ways of helping more people.

We can't, though, simply build hospitals in the city rather than also in the countryside

because it's most cost-effective to do that.

Everybody has a human right to health and if we think creatively enough about how to

do it, we may be able to help everybody.

Okay.

So there's two sides to this virtue, on the one side we should try very hard to help

people fulfill their human rights.

On the other side we don't have to try when it's impossible or impermissible to do that.

But I'm going to stress and I have been stressing the positive or commitment side

of the virtue for this reason: millions of people around the world are suffering and

dying every year from poverty related causes, and it's not as if there's millions of

people trying to help them.

I believe we need to try harder, try harder, try harder.

I think we need to find both the resources and the political will to do this.

And like Martin Luther King, we should refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt.

Asking Your Higher Self For Answers - Duration: 4:00.

Asking Your Higher Self For Answers

by Conscious Reminder

Have you met your Higher Self?

Have you even tried to reconnect with it?

Yes, we have reached a point of time where all of us are somehow aware about the concept

of Higher Self but not all of us have met our Higher Self or had a conversation with

it?

So, your Higher Self is what you really are which is obviously so much more than your

corporeal form.

Your Higher Self knows so much about you that even you arent aware about.

Thus, it is obvious that conversations with your Higher Self are going to be far more

productive than you can imagine.

These conversations can actually make you so much more than what you think you will

become because these conversations will fill you with positivity and happiness.

You have to remember that you are always connected to your Higher Self.

Yes, you can talk to it anytime you want because the bond you share with it is of unity; its

basically a part of you.

So, we feel that we are separated from our Higher Self but that is not the truth.

Separation of such a kind can never ever exist.

All that you have to accept is that you have far more energy than your physical being and

thus you will experience far more than just what you experience physically.

So why should you listen to your Higher Self?

Because it is always, always there to help you.

Whenever you feel that your intuition is telling you something, the truth is that your Higher

Self is trying to talk to you.

Listen to it, keenly.

How Does the Higher Self Communicate?

It does through your intuition or through the random signs and symbols that you may

see here and there.

Dont dismiss these just like that.

They have a meaning that you must try to comprehend.

All you have to do now is to take your Higher Self on a date

To go on a date with your Higher Self, imagine yourself to be in a peaceful place; someplace

where you are happy and comfortable.

Now, try and feel the presence of your Higher Self.

Once you feel it, talk to your Higher Self.

Ask anything, dont worry the Higher Self wont judge you or bother you.

Once you have asked the questions, wait for the answers.

The Higher Self might use various methods like images and feelings and words; just pay

attention to the answers.

Sometimes, you may have to distinguish between your Ego and your Higher Self.

In order to do that, you have to see yourself when the answers come.

If you feel any anxiety or stress, then you are talking to your ego because the ego is

attached to the feeling of pain.

Ego creates a feeling of negativity through creating and appropriating some sort of identity.

The Higher Self doesnt do this.

There is no identity in the Higher Self situation.

It is just boundless and abundant, overflowing energy.

You can also try to ask more yes/ no questions because such questions go beyond the functioning

of the mind and are answered by the Higher Self.

You can also try and use Journaling.

When we journal, we can distinguish between the noise of the mind and the things that

the Higher Self says.

So, it is time to sit and chat with you Higher Self.

You will probably end up finding something about yourself that you never knew existed.

bachelor's degree if you are homeschooled

if you're interested in this information stay tuned

tip number one every school is interested in how you went about the

learning process as a homeschool student they're not really going to criticize

you or judge you based on the curriculum but they do want to know how did you go

about the learning process so if you can provide an overview of how you pursued

your learning in the humanities Social Sciences go ahead and do that and submit

that info the second thing that the school will be looking for is for your

transcript an evaluation of how you were graded based on your homeschooling so

provide this information to them as well 3 they will also need a detailed

description of your curriculum so that you can be able to see some of the

you do have a lot to bring in in terms of the lived experiences that you have

gained within your particular learning environment there will also need your

test scores based on the standardized testing for the appropriate school which

would be like the SAT and there will also need your letters of recommendation

now remember they will need a letter of recommendation from your guidance

counselor this could actually be your parent because most students who are

home-schooled are actually homeschooled by their parents so one letter could

Spirituality and Religion - What are You - Duration: 9:14.

Well, Hi friends! This is Ron today from Rome

And the beautiful Holy See, the Vatican and over my shoulder you see St. Peter's Square

And this is the square where people come together,

hundreds of thousands including yesterday on Mother's Day of this year

where the Holy Pope bless the people here and of course this place is just filled with history

as you may know the Vatican is a nation unto itself.

It's the center of the Roman Catholic Church worldwide

and it's a place where so many deep religious and spiritual things happen

and as I was walking around today while my wife and another couple are

touring st. Peter's, the Cathedral of the Sistine Chapel and Museum

and these beautiful grounds. Things I've seen before.

I've been walking around just thinking and contemplating about the power of religion

and the power of spirituality and I want to make a distinction

or have you think about a distinction?

I've heard someone say that the religion is man's best attempt to reach God

and spirituality is God's best attempt to reach man.

Now that's an oversimplification but I want to process with you a little bit

about the difference, some distinctions between religion and spirituality

and how do you think about it?

Religions been around for a long time

and of course there are major religions.

There's Christianity.

There's Islam. There's Hindu. Judaism.

There a number of other major religions around the world.

Even including Atheism, which is basically a belief that there's no God

Or Agnosticism, which says I don't think there's a God but there might be

Some people turn their work into a religion. Some people turn their family into religion.

Some people turn power or running after money as their religion

Or self-gratification as their religion

but there are religions and fundamentally as we're sitting here

in the middle of one of the religious centers certainly of the world

I want you to think about religion and so many of the qualities as you could see

That with religion there's tradition

with religion there are laws. There are principles.

The Catholic Church believes the Bible is the foundational truth for the Word of God

as interpreted especially by the Holy Father, the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church

and so they have very distinct specific views about life and Catholicism's like that

Every religion is like that. Islam's like that. Hinduism's like that.

Protestantism, Evangelical, Christianity is very much like that.

Every religion has its own code of ethics or rules.

The key thing to think about with rules and regulations is we need those.

One author said, You never know a line is crooked unless you have a straight line to put next to it

So, we need straight lines.

We need principles, they're kind of our guides.

Someone who said the difference between a lake and a swamp is a border

unless you want your life to be a swamp just going on and on without any definition

or clarity or purity, you need borders and that's what religion does provide.

A set of principles. The key question for you about whatever religion you may or

may not follow is, What are the foundational principles and then

What are the source of those principles? Are they universally true?

Are they absolute?

A principal by definition is a truth that is always true everywhere

like in the Bible that says love God with all your heart mind soul and strength

and love your neighbor as yourself.

Now that's a universal principle that many religions by certain extremes of

many religions don't buy that but fundamentally that those are rules.

So as you're thinking about religion think about what are the rules that are there

and then every religion has tradition. Like here you see tradition everywhere

As you go through the museum, as you look at these marvelous buildings

as you look at the Sistine Chapel there's so much story that reflects a tradition

and of course with Christianity the stories especially about Jesus and in the

Catholic Church, there's a heavy emphasis on Mary, the mother of Jesus

and her special unique role of course, but Jesus is a centerpiece of the Christian faith

because of his death, burial and resurrection

and in Judaism there are key figures. Moses was a key figure and Abraham was a key figure

and others throughout the Old Testament and the Pentateuch especially

and of course in Islam we understand the power of Islam and in Mohammed and

there's great respect there for many of the prophets including Jesus and Moses

and others because of tradition but every religion has its own story.

Its own history. Its own culture.

So look into that and see what makes sense to you in that particular process.

Religion (some people have said) focuses more on the dont's.

Spirituality more on the do's. I'm not sure about that.

I'd like to hear what you say but religion does tend to say "thou shalt not" you know

and the Ten Commandments in the Bible -- thou shalt not steal

thou shalt not have any other Gods before me

thou shalt not commit adultery

and again those are straight rules in life that we need.

but also in Christianity which is my core faith

There are so many positive do's you know that we're to love others

That were to be compassionate, we're to be honest, we're to be filled with integrity,

we're to be kind, we're to be helpful, we're to be selfless, we're to be giving.

Those are foundational do's. So religion can have both of those in them

I would say though by way of mindset

Religion has context to it, has history to it. has story to it.

Has some healthy rules and principles that guide our life.

It has the depth of history, so there's something reliable and dependable to live on

and so religion in all those senses are good.

The danger can be when we all of a sudden start living like

what we think that kind of religious person ought to live like

so we start acting a certain way it's not truly what's consistent in our heart

but we try to fake it till we make it so to speak or just fake it anyway

because then we're accepted and that so often happens among particularly leaders

in various religious movements and those who attend

There's an acceptable lower bar and that's not a good way to live.

That's a bit hypocritical.

so what I want to urge you to do and as you pursue religion

and study it and I urge you to do so.

It's to think about relationship think about your personal relationship with God

That's the cord of spirituality

That's having God at the center of your life.

That's having a relationship like you and I can have right now

or I can have with my wife or my friends as we walk around

where we talk with one another, we get to know one another,

They listen to me, I listen to them, I realize in my case being a follower of Jesus

that he's the God of my life so I wanna love Him with all my heart, mind, soul and strength

but I want to live in intimacy with Him I want to build relationship with Him

and that's the core of spirituality.

It's seeking God in a personal deep way but letting God also penetrate your life and impact you

and fill you and create intimacy with you so you have an incredibly strong spiritual core.

So my assignment for you is to think about religion and various religions

and those things that are attractive to you.

There's great value in religion.

There can be great dangers when we just start acting like what we believe the faith is

we don't live it. But focus in on your spirituality.

Not just a general, generic spirituality but something that's rooted in

something's deep and meaningful and has history and credibility to it.

So you're living from the inside out. A life of spirituality.

A life of grace.

A life of love.

A life of integrity.

Well here we are at the Holy See. St. Peter's Cathedral behind me.

The bell's in the background.

Loving this.

Enjoying the wonder of a religious setting

and especially enjoying the spirituality that can pull out of a place like this

and can flow to your heart right now.

Bless you.

You can "turn off" aggressive breast cancer genes and make tumors treatable by eating Brussel sprout - Duration: 4:52.

You can turn off aggressive breast cancer genes and make tumors treatable by eating

Brussel sprouts and drinking green tea, according to new study

A new study finds that eating brussel sprouts and drinking green tea can turn off

aggressive breast cancer genes and make tumors treatable, as reported by The Daily Mail.

The researchers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) conducted an experiment

on laboratory rats with estrogen receptor (ER)-negative breast cancer.

Trygve Tollefsbol and his team used epigenetics, the study of biological mechanisms that will

switch genes on and off.

(Related: Breast cancer cells controlled by lifestyle factors, plant nutrient combination

and epigenetic changes.)

One way we can use epigenetics as a powerful tool to fight cancer is through compounds

found in our everyday diet, Tollefsbol, study author and professor from the UAB, said

in an article by Nutrition Insight.

He also said that one reason why some researchers avoid combining two or more compounds at a

time for research on treatments is because of the fear of negative effects and unpredictable

possible interactions.

The researchers fed the rats with two compounds: sulforaphane, which is found in cruciferous

vegetables, such as brussel sprouts and polyphenols, which are found in green tea.

They picked out the two compounds because they felt that the compounds would work well

combined.

Sulforaphane and polyphenols may both have biological effects, but still have diverse

means for processing these effects that would not stand in the way of each other.

In addition, the compounds are commonly found in the daily diet of people and are previously

known to prevent cancers.

The compound sulforaphane turns off tumor genes that stimulate the development

of cancer, while polyphenols have formerly been found to prevent and treat ER-negative

breast cancer in rats.

Tollefsbol and his team discovered that the rats fed with the two compounds combined transformed

aggressive breast cancer tumors into more treatable tumors.

The study was published in the journal Scientific Reports.

Your mother always told you to eat your vegetables, and science now tells us she was

right, Tollefsbol said.

More on breast cancer

The study explained that breast cancers are either ER-positive or ER-negative.

However, ER-negative cancer tumors are unresponsive to hormonal therapy compared to ER-positive

cancer tumors, so the ER-negative cancer tumors are more aggressive.

Unfortunately, there are few options for woman who develop ER-negative breast cancer,

Tollefsbol said.

He explained that because of the poor prognosis of ER-negative breast cancer, new discoveries

in prevention and treatment of the disease have great importance.

The results of this research provide a novel approach to preventing and treating

ER-negative breast cancer, which currently takes hundreds of thousands of lives worldwide,

study author Yuanyuan Li said.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women next to lung cancer, and the

chance of a woman dying from this cancer is about 2.7 percent or one in 37 women.

For 2017, around 252,710 new occurrences of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in

United States women and approximately 40,610 women will die from this type of cancer, according

to the estimates of the American Cancer Society.

Other health benefits of sulforaphane and polyphenols

Aside from cancer prevention and treatment, sulforaphane also contains cellular antioxidant,

protects the DNA, prevents H.pylori, a bacteria that causes gastric ulcers, stomach inflammation,

and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in people suffering from diabetes, as listed

by HealthLine.com.

On the other hand, polyphenols contain antioxidants, lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure,

support digestive system, lower blood sugar and risk of diabetes, improve bone health,

reduce inflammation, aid in weight loss, and help slow cognitive decline, according to

an article by NaturalNutrition.ca.

Senate Republicans Just Gave Banks A Free Pass To Break The Law - Duration: 4:56.

Late Tuesday night, as most Americans were headed off to bed, the Senate was still hard

at work trying to strip you of your constitutional rights.

Specifically, the Senate was taking aim at a rule by the Consumer Financial Protection

Bureau that prevented banks and credit card companies from slipping, what's called, arbitration

clauses into their contracts, which takes away your right to sue them in court, when

they eventually screw you over.

Now, in a 50 to 50 tied vote, they came to a stalemate on whether or not they could repeal

this rule by the CFPB, and so Mike Pence, vice president had to come in, he was the

tiebreaker, and he was the one who agreed and made it official, that yes, banks and

credit card companies can use arbitration clauses, even if you don't realize you're

signing them, because they do not want you to be able to sue a bank when they screw you

over.

Here's what this means.

Arbitration panels are usually a panel of anywhere between one and sometimes up to five

arbitrators, who hear a case from a plaintiff and their lawyer, and the defendant and their

lawyer, in a private room, and you basically just argue in front of this group, they make

the decision and that's final.

Allegedly, what Republicans and corporations tell us, is that this frees up the court system

for other things.

But here's the thing, usually in these instances, it is the corporation that gets to choose

the arbitrators on that panel, so they get to choose their friends, their buddies, the

people they work with all the time, the arbitrators that they constantly hire and keep feeding

money to.

The plaintiff in these arbitrations wins less than 20% of the time.

Here's what else it means.

Arbitration is far more costly for consumers than it is for corporations, because you still

have to pay all of those attorneys fees to recover such a minute amount of money.

The goal here is to limit class-action lawsuits brought by consumers against corporations,

in this case specifically banks and credit card companies.

Why?

Because they know you won't do it.

That's the bottom line here, they know you're not going to go hire a lawyer to go to arbitration

to fight over a bank that was taking $2 a month from you when they shouldn't have been.

Nobody wants to go to court and try to recover $24.

The cost of hiring a lawyer for just a few minutes is going to exceed that.

That's why we have class-action lawsuits, so not everybody has to go out, pay hours

upon hours of attorneys fees, show up in court, pay the court fees.

We form them all into a class, we sue together, then everybody gets their checks in the mail

without ever having to go to court.

You get your money back, the corporation pays, everybody goes on with their lives.

But not with arbitration, because if you think about it, when we have banks that get accused

of charging excessive overdraft fees or improperly assessing an overdraft fee of, let's say it's

$2 a month from you, so at the end of the year you're out $24, but here's the catch,

they may have done it to 10 million people, so you're out $24, your neighbor's out $24,

but overall the bank is up $240 million, because again, they did it to 10 million people.

We've seen that with companies like AT&T overcharging people $2, $3 a month, but they're doing it

to 20 million people a month, but you can't sue them because of the arbitration clauses.

And last night Senate Republicans said, "You know what?

To hell with American consumers, to hell with the United States Constitution that says you

have a right to take people to court.

We're going to give a massive gift to corporations that's going to save them millions upon millions

of dollars every year, give them the green light to go ahead and break the law," because

they know that consumers cannot afford anymore to hold them accountable for stealing from

them.

We have seen too many crimes from the banking industry over the last 10, 15 years, and now

Republicans in the Senate, even those anti-Trump Republicans, who everybody's been praising

recently, came out late last night while you were sleeping and said, "To hell with these

people, let's go ahead and essentially give away the bank, by giving everything

to

the banks."
