in this video I'm going to be looking at three different ways that I've learned
to get your clear block your stamps to stick to your clear blocks I'm gonna be
explaining what they are testing out a new product that I haven't tried yet and
seeing which one works best so if you're new to my channel I'm Hannah from
handcrafted cards comm and consider subscribing because I post new videos
every single Monday Wednesday and Saturday so if this is the type of video
that you enjoy then I hope that you will come back so let's get started so like I
said we're going to be looking at different ways to get our clear blocks
to stick to a cute segment our stamps to stick to our clear blocks so obviously
when you're stamping you've got your stamp if you go to pick it up I mean
I've didn't press very hard there at all but you can press down quite hard and it
can still whoops it can still come off now a lot of the times I press down
really really really hard and it's usually okay
but then occasionally it still might just quite easily pop off so three
different ways that I have learnt to stop that from happening the first one
is probably the what I've found so far to be the easiest that I've recently
learned from another demonstrator and our Stampin Up demonstrator facebook
page is to use surgical spirits or rubbing alcohol so all you need to do
for this one is I've already got a cloth that I've soaked in surgical spirits and
this I've just bought in the chemist over here in the UK I think this butter
was less than two pounds so it's not a lot and I've used I do actually need to
get some more because I've been using it everywhere it's really really good for
cleaning or little sticky bits and everything so I am gonna actually
probably go and get some more today because I'm gonna run out soon so like I
said I've soaked this cloth in surgical spirits and I just keep it in a lucky
luck bucks just because the smell is quite strong so for this one all you do
is wipe over your clear blocks which I do clean my blocks are wash them in warm
soapy water and let them dry so having a clean block does definitely help your
statistics so give it a good wipe over and it will dry quite quickly but also
wipe your stamp as well then this is something that I hadn't thought of doing
before because if this gets grubby and sticky and whatever then whoops only
stamps em will as well so give that a good wipe over and then let's put that
back in it there so don't choke myself and then when that is dried it will
quite easily hold that now and that this have found that works really really well
and it doesn't come off and you don't get any stickiness or anything I mean
it's dry now and it gets rid of like fingerprints and oils and anything
that's gonna stop it from sticking and holding on it really well so that is why
number one surgical spirits okay this is the very celebration stamp set by the
right O'Casey one doing so the second way is to use a tumbler now you might
not know that when you if you put Tumbo down and leave it to dry without
sticking anything on top it becomes removable so if you
just do a little squiggle like that over your stamp and obviously it dries clear
as well so I set that aside to dry and I've got another stamp set that I've
done this too already this is the in this world stamp set then if you can see
if I get the right angle there you go you can just see the squiggle across
there so it's dried clear and it's tacky so now when you come to put it on your
block it's gonna stick to the blocks you can see that squiggle line and it
doesn't leave any sticky residue on your block this stays clean but again what
you could do is if you use this and over time it did happen to start leaving some
sticky residue or just anyway wipe over your blocks with em the surgical spirit
because that will keep that really really clean that is probably one of the
the best tip that I've learned is keeping your blocks really clean so that
sticks every time and it doesn't well there you go
came off after a good shake this one
yeah it's not coming off so so far surgical spirits is the winner okay
those to the side and so this a product I got told about is called invisi grip I
haven't tried it yet the package is still unopened
I actually got told about this or did it straight away and then learn about the
surgical spirit so it was kind of like Oh for anyway we'll try it let's see how
it goes so basically this stuff is I mean it is to prevent your rulers from
slipping if you're using a rotary cutter but obviously
you don't just need to use it for that so let's see how it comes I don't even
know what it looks like let's see okay so it's on a like roll and you get quite
a lot on the roll well okay that is quite a long roll so let's see what it
says to do so unroll you envy the group onto your
putting mat with the invisi grip facing up so that'd be that way but I'm
guessing then position your ruler over the top and cooked with your rotary
ruler so obviously I'm not using a rotary ruler so I'm thinking I might
turn it this way and then I can put my block down grab a pencil and draw up you
can still see draw around the block so I'm leaving a little bit of a gap there
on the side and then I'm just gonna draw around it and then it smells really nice
by the way
okay so then peel off the backing and stick it to your below
well obviously the black so I try not to touch that button on the side okay and
rub that over and you can see it's kind of got a film on there now rub that on
really well make sure there's no air bubbles and grab a stamp so actually
that one I've already cleaned with the surgical spirit so that one I don't want
to try I'm showing I haven't cleaned to see if it stinks well okay so I didn't
press very hard and huh it's sticking okay so it's just a really pressed
lightly that time Wow okay that sticks yeah it did fall off eventually but I
did only press it very very lightly I barely put any pressure on so let's
press it really hard and see it's got it passed the shake test and it looks like
yeah that is working so that's another way that I think I might give it a go so
obviously I've got a lot of blocks but I mean
laughs I can just say how much you get there and you only need I mean you don't
need to cover the whole of the block you could just have leave a little border
around the edge suit it's gonna go quite a long way I think so I'll show you the
I'll put a link to it in the description as well I got this from Amazon called
invisi grip so out of the three ways that I have tried I think the invisi
crip and the surgical spirits definitely are the best out of the three so tombow
it does work but it didn't pass the shape to us test quite as well but if
that's all you've got it's gonna work of the two of these I'm thinking surgical
spirits is probably the easiest because he could always have this to hand to
wipe over your blocks I'm thinking maybe over time the invisi
crip might get grubby as well so eventually I'm gonna need to change it
so obviously this is the first time I've used it so I don't know how long it's
going to last but it's kind of maybe it will get sticky get sticky and you'll
need to to like change it eventually but not exactly sure how long it'll last
but for now it definitely works as well as the surgical spirit so you've got two
options there if you can't get hold of this then try the invisi group if you
can't get this then try this so you've got two options that work well like I
said this I got online from Amazon this I got in their chemist I don't I'm
assuming you can get it online I'll have a look and if there is a link then if I
find somewhere then I'll put a link for that in the description below but like I
said I'll just got it from my local chemist and all pharmacy
and it's literally just up the road from my house so it's easy for me to get so I
hope that you found this video useful and what is your favorite way of getting
your stamps to stick to your clear box let me know in the comments below if you
found a way that works really well for you and I will give that a try as well
but for now that is it so thank you very much for watching don't forget to Like
and subscribe and share the video if you found it useful as well so thanks very
much for watching and I will see you in the next tutorial bye
you
