Sign Duo

because i'm very active on there

anyways!

most people suggested the Spicy Ramen Challenge

i thoguht thats old but guess not

I actually wanted to do that long time ago, but

he's like my stomaches gonna hurt

i guess we have to

Yeah we have to. Have to do it now!

Here we are. We got the

What is?... The thing is I'm not really sure

that this is the right brand

But we'll try it. If it's not good maybe we'll go get something else

R: but look.

E: Woah! That's red.

E: What?

E: Oh. My ring?

i got her that ring

maybe three years ago?

I think three years ago

It was that Valentines Day that we went to the park

and we had a little picnic

yeah that. i gave her that

it was from tiffany's

sterling silver ooo

My favorite ring

I got it

yeah its ready

you ready?

it smells like beef

No, It smells like *cough*

It smells like plastic, because of the packaging

put mine in

Ah! You ready

mmhmm

don't hog the water

share! ok.

Okay

so we thought we were ready but

oh we forgot about the spicy sauce

I know. All that red stuff and then you're gonna

add the chili sauce

*whisper* what?

Chili sauce

you shouldnt open it with your hands

okay

It actually looks really good

this yes. not with the chili sauce

Putting up my hair

Hair. This is the sign for hair. hair

Cause it's gonna get messy

babe! make sure you get the syrup sauce

okay. ok ok

Can I just take a moment to say. I'm so proud of you for using chopsticks

7 years of experience

When I met him he did not know how to use chopsticks at all

Cheers

I feel the heat. I feel the heat

but it's like not coming that fast.

its spicy but its good

yeah

yeah, it's not that bad

actually pretty good

But it's hot. It's hot

Is it kind of hot in here?

no its cool in here. its just you

No! It's hot.

just you

I'm like wearing jeans

It's not spicy enough

your talking but you didnt finish yet

I will finish

Did we get

Did we get the right one?

I'm pretty sure it's that one

It's the black one. I don't know. Let's see

Maybe it won't be that bad

Maybe it won't be that bad

its very sticky

yeah

The noodles are really thick

oah

oh that is spicy

That is spicy

Wow! I only had a little bit

It's just misleading

Or it's just like kind of tricky

because

it smells sweet

it doesn't smell spicy at all, but when

you take a bite it's like

It's actually really good though

first one to drink water loses!

The trick is you have to keep eating it

you can't stop or else the spiciness comes and ...

its going down my throat

not that bad

It's actually really good

cant use this?

can i?

mmhmm

I didn't make the rules. I don't know

We turned on the AC for this

its starting to get a little bit

The longer you don't eat it the more worse it gets

crap

at first it was a little bit sweet

but as you eat,

it progressively gets spicer

Oh my gosh

it's really bad now

my throat!

starting to burn a bit

throat starting to feel it

Actually it's really really uncomfortable right now

I'm really uncomfortable

i will finish!

ooo. Why is it like that?

Oh my god

*painful* ahhh

I thought this would be easy

but I'm in a lot of pain

why do you think its a challenge??

why do you think its titled "challenge"

That's true. That's true

woooh

hey you guys

That would be funny

let us know if you want to see him do it

Oh my god that would be so funny

That would be hilarious. Izzy

Izzy would be screaming and yelling

my ears are starting to get plugged up

me too

But you're not even that red

i dont feel good

You're not even...that red

a little bit left

ahh. I still have a lot

I still have a lot

owwwaha

comon. finish it!

This is gonna kill me

Are you serious?!

Are you serious now?

Yeah you finished

I still have along ways to go

wooh

My stomach's starting to hurt

I feel like passing out

I can do it though. I got this

I got this

I got this. I got this. I got this

Why'd you guys have to suggest this

I love you all, but why. why?

why? why? why?why?

why? why?why?why?

are you seriously crying right now

I'm crying. It's painful

it wasnt that bad to me??

Babe babe

the trick is just to not allow it to touch your lips

yeah

hold on

i feel

ok. I'm done

i feel it on the inside of my lungs

My mascara came off

it came off

awww

So sweaty

you have a lot on your lips

20 thousand views. 1 thousand likes

we'll do whatever you want

Let's go back to doing each other's makeup

NO.

i'm doing whatever you want

serious right now

Anyways thanks for

suggesting this so we had to endure through it

it was fun

honestly i feel fine because i feel motivated

i feel motivated because..

all of you watching and supporting makes me

feel like "oh this is nothing"

What?

it feels like nothing now.

I still feel it

That was really hard to finish though

I was almost going to tap out

I was almost gonna quit

well yeah first few bites

pretty bad

Sarah's Monologue on Truth | I Love You, America on Hulu - Duration: 4:31.

- Okay, so today we're gonna get some life advice

from my Dad, I'm gonna find common ground

in one of the reddest counties in Texas,

I'll interview the brilliant DeRay McKesson,

and of course we'll end the show with a prayer.

(laughter)

But first, before we get started,

you remember this guy,

he's our special security blanket,

the white man at a desk, Mather.

- Sarah!

(clapping)

- Isn't he great?

If you weren't here last week, what it is,

is we go to Mather if the show gets to be a little much

and we need that reassuring comfort

of a traditional late night talk show host.

So, say we're mid-show

and I'm talking about a c**** seahorse

with floppy p**** lips (laughs),

we have Mather.

- Um, so that just happened.

- Brings us back to normalcy.

It's good, right?

It's like I never just said floppy p**** lips.

In fact, you know what,

I'm gonna go ahead and claim I never did.

I never said "floppy p**** lips,"

and frankly I'm disgusted by the accusation.

Yeah, that's good.

That's the point of this monologue, really.

It's that we don't know what is true anymore.

The truth has become subjective.

Remember when truth was facts?

(crowd laughing)

Wasn't that fun?

How are we gonna heal this divided country

if we can't even agree on what is true?

It's the Red Sox and the Yankees, right?

If you're from Boston,

even if the Yankees had the best record in all of baseball,

your truth is that the Yankees suck.

Which is true, they f****** suck, right?

(laughter)

But hey, a Red Sox fan is just a Yankees fan

who happened to be born in Boston.

Make no mistake, it is location-based.

It's teams, and that's what it's supposed to be.

It's sports, that's fine, it's adorable.

But that same kind of blind allegiance

has infiltrated our government.

It's party over country.

It's party over everything,

it's party over tenants of your own party.

I mean, Obama did stuff in his presidency

that should have had Republicans j****** rainbows.

Truly.

He f****** murdered Osama Bin Laden.

(crowd cheers)

Yeah.

He took out several known terrorists with drones.

And I didn't even know this until like a month ago,

but it turns out that he deported more immigrants

than any other president.

Now, that's something for me to reconcile.

I don't know how I feel about it,

but I sure as hell know how Republicans

should feel about it.

They should be creaming their khakis.

But no, they still say Obama was weak

on terror and on immigration

because they're Red Sox and Obama was the Yankees,

and there's nothing a Yankee can do

that the Red Sox won't hate, and that is that.

People cling to the truths that they know,

and that's because...

You know, changing your mind

can feel scary.

But you've all done it.

Remember when you believed in Santa Clause,

and one day you didn't believe in Santa Clause anymore?

You did great.

You did.

You got new information and you let it change you.

Or remember 20 years ago when we were all walking around,

like, Princess Diana's totally alive.

You could never say that today.

There was even a time when I believed

that I would go blind if I masturbated.

Which of course, I have since disproved

time and time and time and time and time again, furiously.

- Too fast, too furious.

- Even the happiest people masturbate furiously,

I would say.

And that is a fact.

That's a fact.

Sarah's First Monologue | I Love You, America on Hulu - Duration: 5:48.

(audience clapping)

- Hi everybody.

Oh my gosh, thank you.

Whoa, first show.

What's it gonna be?

I don't know.

Sometimes, it's just gonna be aggressively dumb and silly,

and sometimes, it'll be super funny,

but of course, that's subjective.

And sometimes, it's gonna be totally earnest,

and you'll go into it expecting it to be funny

and you'll be like

(laughs)

and then, you'll be like,

oh.

That's why I wanna manage your expectations,

because when we don't know what to expect

our brains naturally kind of like fill that gap

with something.

And you all are s***** writers than me.

(audience laughing)

So, you're gonna imagine something,

and you'll get tied to whatever s***** thing

you're imagining and it's not gonna be that.

So, really, you know, you're just setting yourself

up for disappointment if you came into this

with any idea of how it should be.

I mean, what are you imagining?

Like what's a first show bit in your

adorable pedestrian minds?

Like, ooo, I'm so nervous.

My friend told me I should picture the audience naked.

Some bit like that?

No, no, it's great.

I can tell you why you thought of it.

It's because you've seen it before

on television.

It's a very well trodden premise.

Especially, in like first episodes of shows.

But no, I don't need to imagine the audience naked.

I'm not nervous.

I've been doing this a while.

But I would like to see some actually naked people

because we can.

We're streaming, so why not test the limits

of what we can do, and see what's what.

So, I brought in a couple naked people.

Hi.

(audience cheering)

Okay, so your name is Scott.

- Yep.

- [Sarah] Hi, Scott.

- Hi.

- [Sarah] And these are your pubes, et al.

(audience cheering)

- [Scott] Yep.

- This is so exciting, you know.

We're on Hulu,

and the human body isn't something

that Hulu deems unviewable.

So, here is Scott's pubic hair and his penis.

(audience clapping)

Does it make for better TV?

Probably not,

but I find it interesting our taboo human outer shells.

Great penis, Scott.

- Thank you.

- It's interesting right, because that's jarring.

It was jarring.

And we've all seen nudity,

but it's always sexualized.

And it's funny because it's actually jarring

to see clinical nudity like there is a penis.

(audience laughing)

Yeah, all right.

Wait, this might be a good time to do this.

There are gonna be some moments on the show

when you feel uncomfortable,

and for that I have got you covered.

Because, you know, sometimes it is gonna be a lot,

and it's not necessarily gonna be what you're used to.

So, what we're gonna do is have a white man at a desk.

Just your average, run-of-the-mill, late night

talk show host to go to whenever things get

a little uncomfortable.

And this is not me being condescending, by the way,

I get it.

I need to watch a Law and Order to get sleep every night,

even though I've seen every episode a thousand times.

I need it.

I need that familiarity.

I cannot fall asleep unless it's to the gentle

tones of soft-core murder ripped from the headlines in 1993.

I can't.

And for a lot of people that nighttime comfort

is late night talk shows.

So, if things get a little bit too obscure

we've got...

Can we cut over to the white guy at the desk?

(jazzy music)

Hey.

So, this is Mather.

And whenever things veer off the beaten path,

all we have to do is just cut over to Mather,

and he will bring us back to the relatable

comfort of familiarity.

Isn't that right, Mather?

- That's right, Sarah.

We've got a great show coming up tonight.

We've got Sarah visiting a family in Louisiana.

And an interview with Megan Phelps-Roper.

Big show.

(audience clapping)

- That is right.

Okay, so where were we?

Oh, Stella, hi.

Okay, so you are Stella.

Hi, Stella.

- Hi, Sarah.

- [Sarah] And of course, these are your boobs.

Fun.

- Yes.

- I feel like we should censor...

We should censor something, right?

Like something should be taboo, like hands.

Hands.

Hands are filthy.

We don't know where hands have been.

Show me those dirty digits, Stella.

Oh God, gross.

Blur those things out.

Yeah.

Gross.

Fingers go into butts.

(audience laughing)

Yuck!

Know what never goes into butts?

Tits.

(audience laughing)

And yet, they're taboo.

Think about it.

Speaking of taboo, we never get to see vaginas.

Stella, this is your vagina.

Amazing.

(audience cheering)

And a beautiful vagina.

I can see that you have a full, but manicured, bush.

Which I also subscribe to.

Well done.

And you can see just the promise of some lip.

Which I like.

Labia majora.

Sounds like a constellation,

but it's not it's vagina lips.

What do you think, Mather?

- Check, please.

(audience laughing)

- Oh Mather, you're not too much.

(audience laughing)

episode 8/2017 Opalicious and upcoming Syfestival - Duration: 38:37.

With a rhythm like the waves and the heart beating,

I knit one stitch after the other and one row after the other

at the same time I collect my thoughts and feelings

without the woolen threads, I get lost

but if I can knit one more row and one more, I can find my way home again

through the magic of the threads I take my way through the days and the nights

I live on Gotland, the island of the roses and the fairytales in the Baltic Sea

together with my husband and our children and Watson the cat

Kammebornia is our art project as well as our own kingdom

Kammebornia is about our wish that everyone could live in their own fairytale kingdom in this place we call reality

and it is about our wish that everyone could be the king or the queen in their own life

In the Kammebornia podcast we want to invite you to our world

that is full of thoughts, feelings and discussions

caused through the scent of the coffee and the soft peaceful rhythm of the knitting

Kammebornia podcast is about life in general and knitting in particular

Welcome to Kammebornia podcast and the 8th episode in 2017

Today you will meet my friend Marie, who likes knitting so much that she started a webshop for yarn

Dennis and I talk about the bloomer-riot and we talk about good stuff and good people and

and we prepare for the Stockholm sewing and yarnfestival

Hi Pia!

Hello!

Are you ok?

Yes

What are you sticking on? (sticka =knitting in Swedish)

But you were supposed to say What's on (Watson) your needles?

Our own joke you mean?

And you should hold Watson, the cat...

That's fun...

But he is not here!

Have I destroyed the joke now?

It does not matter, it is fun anyway!

But what are you knitting?

I am knitting on a pair of bloomers!

It is a pattern from my friend Maja @majasmanufaktur

It is available for free at Järbo garn, (linkto pattern in many languages in show notes)

Right now there is a bloomer-riot going on

You can imagine how exciting this is!

It is a nice kind of real girl power with woolen bloomers!

We are many people knitting the pattern from Maja right now

The pattern is available for free in both Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, English and German! (Links in shownotes below and on ravelry)

The riot comes from the fact that alarge yarn company have made a pattern almost exactly like Majas without communicating about this

It is very hard not to think of it as a copy

The sad thing is that this has happened several times before

and the strangest thing is that they do not answer any questions!

They just erase comments and questions

I have written to them in a very well behaved tone and friendly asked them about this but they do not answer

and they ERASE comments instead of answering them

But they think it is ok to take Majas pattern?

It seams so...

Instead of crawling in irritation and anger we raise our voices by knitting Majas pattern!

Let us lift the things we think are good! We lift Majas pattern and knit bloomers in yarns we like

from companies we like

They are well suited to knit in Gästrike or Ullcentrum 2-ply for example

I would love to make a pair in rainbowyarn from Opalicious

Where do you buy the pattern?

It is free on Järbo garns homepage

Järbo had paid Maja, so everything is ok there

Maybe some people do not know what bloomers are?

It is a pair of panties, knickers, underpants

and these are knitted in wool

it is a perfect garment to keep warm in the winter, especially if you wear a dress or a skirt like I use to do

I used to wear them when I was younger. I had a pair that my grandmother knitted for me and also some from the store

I have really missed them because they are warm and comfortable

I guess thay are also nice to wear under your skidress or under your pants.

They keep your butt warm and they look good!

Check them out on Majas Instagram at @majasmanufaktur

I knit my pair in grey and mustard and I will make a small pattern border in red

I took it from this old book from the 50's

It will be small hearts

I love old knitting books and magazines

What are you knitting?

I am working on my Riddari

I have put the parts together and I have to coose a new colour for the yoke

it is a bit tricky to choose colours

Yes, it is difficult!

I have different ones here

But you know what you think?

I like the deep red

Yes, maybe that is the one

or another beige

Well, we will have to think about that

that is what I am doing

The important thing is to find a colour that you like!

Yes, of course, but it is very difficult to see before you knit

Maybe I just have to try

You have knitted the pieces together now!

Yes, Ella helped me and explained how to do

Ella is also knitting a Riddari, so you have your own knitalong

Yes, that is right

What do you want to talk about?

Well, this is kind of an episode about nice people and yarn

Those things often go together

Yes, like Maja with this pattern,

Linnea Öhman who made this pattern, I have finished my Juni cardigan

@fruvalborg whos dyed this beautiful yarn

We will meet her irl for the first time at Syfestivalen!

On Saturday

That is right!

Because today we will tell you about things you should not miss if you go to the Syfestivalen in Stockholm (Swedens largest yarn and sewing fair)

We will be there and shoot some film

I have been there several times but it is so exciting to be able to bring you and Ella!

It will be so fun to go all three of us!

I hope you will say hello if you are there and you recognize us!

That would be fun!

It is a lot about that, saying hi to nice people and meet in real life

It is about nice people and yarn!

nice people and yarn!

I think I will wear my new cardigan!

It is nice to wear a newly knitted thing at Syfestivalen. What if you are ready with your Riddari?

There is not enough time

No, probably not, but my cardigan is done, I have found the right ribbon and buttons from my grandmother

My grandmother was a seamstress and I have a lot of beautiful thigs from her

This is Grandma!

Yes, that is her!

I like my cardigan!

And I like Linnea who made the pattern!

Let's go!

I have showed this lovely book before - Lek med tradisjoner (Play with traditions) by Kristin Wiola Ödegård

It is such a lovely book

And now I will knit the Wiola cardigan you can find in this book

I will knit two... because it was too difficult to choose colours...

I will make one in my own colours, brown, red, mustard

And then I will also make one in the original colours from Kristin Wiola

This is the original colours, it is also brown and mustard but also seagreen

She is so good at colours

You will be able to follow my process with the Wiola cardigans

I knit in Peer Gynt, the yarn the pattern is written for. It is a popular classic Norwegian yarn

I have not tried it before so I am excited!

You can find Peer Gynt at YlloTyll

The Peer Gynt?

No, only the yarn! (Peer Gynt is a character in a famous Norwegian drama by Ibsen)

There is also a version of the pattern for a thinner yarn

This is really cosy

Something that is going to happen in this episode is that you can follow me and my friend Marie on an outing

to a small fishing village where we went to knit and talk

We got to know each other through the knitting

I filmed you!

We were a bit giggly, we had a lot of fun

Marie has the webshop Opalicious and she is a sponsor of our podcast

That is how we got to know each other but now we are also friends

She came to Gotland a while ago and we had such lovely autumn days together

We have been knitting, laughing and talking

we are talking about a luxury yarn that I am going to try

I also got a skein!

This is yours

Oops!

The grey and pink go well together

There is cashmere in this yarn, it is soooo soft!

I do not know what to do yet, maybe a hat or a pair of wristwarmers

It is so soft and cosy so it is nice to have close to your skin

It is also a nice thing to tell, that Opalicious is not only about Opal yarn, there are also other yarns and stuff in her shop

I also want to show something I am working on

I have knitted a sock, but it is not the second sock syndrome, I will soon make the other

This is a lovely hand dyed trekking sockyarn from Garnbolaget

Another nice person, Kristin

I met her at a knitting festival 2 years ago and she is sometimes a sponsor here

You are going to meet her on Saturday because she is going to Syfestivalen in Stockholm!

Do not miss Garnbolaget if you are going to Syfestivalen

She has a lot of lovely hand dyed yarns

Many lovely yarns and colours

I want to show some nice things

I will talk more about this book in our next episode

It is a book about cables by Ivar Asplund

Last time we went to Stockholm we met Ivar and talked about this book

So in our next episode you will hear more!

It is Anna!

Yes! Another nice person!

Anna Bergman, Tant Ulltuss (Aunt Wool Wad)

I took the pictures in her first book, Tant Ulltusssocks

That was when we met

We still have a lot of fun together

Now she has made a book full of mittens and also this booklet with retrosocks

Annas daughter Julia has taken the pictures

You have not been to the Syfestivalen before so I want to tell you what we shall not miss

Ullcentrum will be there, it is always a feast for the eye

It is like a candy store

Then I want to go to Korps and look for nice fabrics to sew medieval clothes

Maja will be there!

Garnbolaget will be there!

Do not miss Kamilla Svanlund!

She was here!

Everyone has been here!

Almost... Yarnesty was here, she will be at Limmo design

Petra from Fru Valborg is going to be there!

Solkusten will be there!

Do not miss Magasin Duett

And do not miss Tant Ulltuss and the book release!

Organic knitters will also be there!

So many nice people to meet!

Please say hello if you see us! It will be fun!

Are you ready now?

Yes, I am hungry!

I have finished my brown Juni cardigan

It is warm and beautiful with lace knitting both front and back

I found the perfect buttons in my grandmothers drawer

and I have a nice woolen ribbon sewn into the borders

I am very satisfied with my brown cardigan and feel prepared for autumn and winter

A while ago we had a visit from Marie at Opalicious

We had great days together

One day we went to a small fishing village and of course we did some knitting there

I do wish that Marie lived here on the island so we could meet more often

Hello Marie!

Hello Pia!

And hello to all of you! Here we are at Själsö, north from Visby

I am so glad that you are here!

You live on the mainland, outside from Stockholm

It is a nice thing to have friend that comes to meet me and we can knit together

It has been too long!

Yes! We met through the knitting

The first time we met was a year ago

Yes, here in Visby, I was here on the autumn break with my family.

And we could use the moment to meet

and we found each other directly

we both felt that we wanted to see more of each other

then we have also met at Syfestivalen in Stockholm

and on Instagram all the time

and we also work together as Opalicious is a sponsor of our podcast

Marie has a webshop called Opalicious

It is such a lovely name!

Yummy like the yarn!

You started selling Opal yarn, that is why the name Opalicious came natural

Yes, I have all the collections from Opal yarn

there are both 4-ply 6-ply and 8-ply

But you also sell other yarns than Opal?

Yes I have a Danish yarn from Mayflower

and I am interested in trying new yarns

I want to expand my assortment

I have hugged a luxury yarn from you today

It was like a luxurious candybar

It is a very cosy yarn, I am excited to see what you will be knitting with it!

I think it will be a hat, or a pair of wristwarmers

You want to have it close to your skin

It is totally not itchy

I have knitted a lot from your Opal yarn

It feel so great with this job I have created for myself - I get friend at work!

Both you and I have the best jobs!

Yes! And we can knit a lot!

These are all socks I have knitted in your Opal yarn

My Lucky me socks, the brown pair are already this autumns favorite

And the pair I am wearing

These are good looking!

I have made another pair of knee highs

Opal yarn is well known for the multicoloured yarns

Yes, and the special thing for Opal is that they release new collections all the time

There are eight colours in each collection and there is always at least one to die for

There is a big variety

There are also single coloured yarns

Absolutely!

There are also different kinds, I have just started to use the 6-ply, it is great

Yes, the 6-ply is DK and the 8-ply is worsted

I have mostly used the 4-ply, fingering weight

Yes, it is 425 meters in 100 g.

I love these rainbow colours

I am knitting a pair for Dennis in the 6-ply, DK.

He needs the thicker ones to not wear them out too fast.

The 6-ply is great, it is not too thick, just perfect and it knits up fast

What needles do you use for the 6-ply?

I use 2.5 mm but of course you can also use 3.0mm

Yes, I think it says 3-4

I use 2.5 because I want them to last longer, we use our socks so much

I usually go down in needle size too

I have 56 stitches and 2.5 needles both for me and Dennis.

Tell me about when you started your webshop!

Oh, what happened... it all started with my grandmothers yarnstore where I grew up

both my mother and my grandmother had a yarnstore

and that was before the webshops

yes, we had no Internet when I was a child!

I have always been knitting

I got in contact with Opal about 6 years ago

and I immediately fell for it

It is hard to run a yarn store today

therefor it can be hard to find yarn and I wanted everyone to be able to find Opal yarn

so it was like your mission

Yes, I wanted everyone in Sweden to be able to find it!

That is why I started Opalicious

it was almost four years ago and it is so much fun

You have your storage at home in the basement right?

Yes, and sometimes I have a pop up-store in our green house in the garden

I would love to come!

You are more than welcome!

It is so cosy and my cute and crazy dog runs around

Oh, Frasse!

Here comes an airplane

How unsuitable!

I think that Opal yarn is mostly associated to sockknitting but you can use it for other things also, right?

Ifell in love with your shawl today, this is knitted in Opal

Yes, this pattern is called Find your fade

I have knitted mine from left over yarns

So it is both Opal and some other yarns

You can knit so many varietys of this one

a good way to use left overs!

it is so much fun to blend all the colours and exciting to see the result

all multi coloured yarns do not blend so well as the Opal yarn does

it feels like they know what they are doing

I also like the one coloured yarns

I am knitting the Birkin sweater in Opal 6-ply

But you feel that you never get finished?

The fun part is already done with yoke

On the Icelandic sweaters you have the yoke to look forward to

Like a dessert

This is the other way around with the dessert first

This is for my sister so I put love in each stitch

it is so nice to knit for beloved people

I am working on it sis!

You have also knitted a Birkin for yourself?

Yes, but I knitted mine in Rauma

It is a great sweater

It is a fun knit!

I think I might knit another one later on!

How much do you knit in a day?

My God!

Too much!

Or is it possible?

I have some knitting injuries...

Then I get obsessed with crocheting for a change

I like making granny squares

When I have knitting injuries I take a break and clean up my knitting basket for example

I put everything on the floor and find new old projects

and I get to finish other things

Where does it hurt in your body when you knit too much?

I have learned to relax so Ido not have so many problems with that

It is also very important to rise up once in a whileand move around

do some stretching and bending

get a cup of coffee for example

I walk around and make strange moves that feel good

strange dances

I have seen them!

My family always look surprised and amused

Your body says thank you

mostly it is my wrists otherwise

and the shoulders

stretching!

But you do not have pains now?

Actually I do not talk so much about it but I have pains every day.

I try to ignore it

I have to knit

Yes, we HAVE TO knit

What is your next Opal project?

I have some sock plans

You like the rainbow yarns?

Yes I do

They are happy colours

The skein you got yesterday comes from the Schafpate collection

That means it is only German wool right?

Yes!And Opal is such a good company because they are very aware of the workers, and they want the sheep farmers to have good conditions

In the other collections half of the wool is from Germany and half is from South America.

All the farmers have to sign contracts about treating the sheep well

Opal also have people travelling around to see that the rules are followed

It feel so good to know that all are treated well!

I also want to finish some of my granny square blankets

I do love happy coloured blankets

and I would like to make a shawl like yours

it is such a fun knit!

I mostly like to use the one coloured yarns and meke my own patterns, but I also get carried away by all the loveliness in the multi coloured skeins

It is nice as a variety in my knitting

it very good for social knitting

like in the knitting café yesterday

it was so fun that you could be with us

there was this funny man there who seemed allergic to wool

We were about 10 people together in a café knitting

There was only one more guest at this café and he was sitting at a table next to us

He started to sneeze, one more time and one more time...

ten times, twenty times, it never ended

we guessed he was allergic to wool

finally he said so himself, Ithink Iam allergic to your yarn

Poor thing!

That would be a nightmare, to be allergic to wool!

Yes, My God what a nightmare!

I would ignore it!

Use a gas mask!

Oxygen tube!

Just to have to wool!

Like Darth Vader!

I would totally do that!

Yes! And keep on knitting!

Totally crazy!

I hope it does not happen to us!

We decide that it will not happen!

We are so happy to be able to share our yarn happiness, Gotland love and coffee moments with you!

Thank you for being with us!

Invoice Generator Lets You Bill Trump For Your Birth Control Copay - Duration: 2:33.

Invoice Generator Lets You Bill Trump For Your Birth Control Copay

Earlier this month, the Trump administration rolled back the Obama-era mandate that required employers to cover the copay for employee birth control, thus leaving up to 62 million women without contraceptive health care coverage.

Now, one group wants to protest the move by encouraging people to bill Trump directly for the amount those contraceptive copays would cost.  Keep Birth Control Copay Free, a campaign funded by the Women's Equality Center that advocates for access to contraceptives, launched a tool on Wednesday that allows users to select their contraceptive type from a drop down menu and get the estimate of what that contraceptive would cost annually.  Once the user selects their type of birth control, they see the annual cost.

An IUD, for example, costs $1,111, and oral contraceptives cost $600 annually.(Keep Birth Control Free pulled the numbers from Planned Parenthood and health care research group Amino.) Users are then prompted to send the invoice to the Trump administration and the Department of Health and Human Services.

"Women are tired of footing the bill for male politicians' attacks on essential reproductive health care," said Amy Runyon-Harms, Keep Birth Control Copay Free campaign coordinator, said in a press release on Wednesday.  "Together, we are pushing back against President Trump's

dangerous political decision to reduce access to birth control and today we are sending him the bill . and we figure, with Donald Trump's frequent proclamations that he's 'very rich,' he shouldn't have a problem absorbing the cost." While it's unlikely, to say the least, that Trump will change his mind about rolling back the mandate, the invoice campaign still serves to educate users about the actual costs of contraceptive care, and rally women around the hugely important issue of reproductive health care access.   .

You Might Not Like The Ingredients But: Amazing Drink That Melts Pounds Like Crazy,…

You want to get your body in shape but no diet has ever been proven successful.

As announced in the title, you might not like the taste of this beverage but this drink

has proved to be very effective and has been tested by many people who got their body in

shape they always dreamed of.

Once we present the ingredients and show you how to make this weight loss drink, we will

try to explain why it is so effective in melting the excess fat.

Ingredients:

One teaspoon apple cider vinegar Pinch of ground chili pepper

Juice and zest of one lemon (organic)

Directions:

First of all make sure that the lemon is organic and has not been treated with any chemical.

Using a zester or peeler scrape the lemon and pour the zest with 1 cup of boiling water.

After 10 minutes, add the lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and hot grinded pepper.

Stir before each sip and drink before and after every meal.

WHY THIS DRINK IS SO GOOD

The grinded chili pepper helps with digestion, accelerates the metabolism and stimulates

fat burning.

In fact, its ingredient, capsaicin, stimulates the nervous system to produce heat in the

body which in turn stimulates accelerated burning of calories.

The lemon contains compounds that inhibit the deposition of fat, and its rind contains

policosanol, a compound that helps burn the accumulated fat.

Apple cider vinegar, i.e. its regular consumption in moderation, helps dissolve fat in the body.

Deep Voice Tip: The 2 Types Of Booze To Make You Sound Smooth ❓❔ - Duration: 4:06.

Alright listen, we can all talk about how drinking is bad and all this but the truth

is that when most people go out on the weekend, they're gonna have a couple drinks!

And what we drink can serious impact the way our voice will sound that night… so lets

talk about how to do it the right way.

Lets float my head up here in the corner and get into this…

A lot of alcohols seriously mess up our voice but I'm going to give you list of liquor

that is the least detrimental AND at the end of the video I'm going to tell you two specific

ones that will actually help your sound.

Now this video is only about how booze impacts your voice.

If your looking to get some techniques about how to make your entire voice stronger, I

put together a Vocal Power Cheat Sheet that you can click right here in the upper right

corner to download an I'm not gonna charge ya anything for it.

It's gonna show you 5 things you can do right now to beef up those pipes!

Think about it this way, when you go out to a bar or restaurant or other social event,

you are gonna do a lot of talking.

Much more than most people will any other time of the week.

This means we need to prepare just like a vocal performer would.

And don't give me that, "oh I don't care what people think about how I sound they

should just like me for me!"

If you want to be an average joe - struggling through life then that's fine, keep that

mindset.

If you want to be a top performer and get what you want, lets start doing what we know

will help!

The majority of alcoholic drinks are carbonated, and carbonation is the worst thing you can

drink when talking.

I've got a whole other video talk about just this that you can click up here to watch.

So alcohols is bad for our voice… what can we drink?

The list of vocally approved alcohols are as follow: Vodka, Port Wine, Gin & Whiskey

and Brandy.

So what are the two drinks that can actually help to make

your voice sound warm and hardy?

First, although you may sound with her 1, drink a day in the nursing home, you can drink

a vodka and water.

This is one of the very best options because its base is vodka, an approved alcohol, it

has water which acts to help balance out some of the hydrates that alcohol naturally causes

and doesn't have carbonation.

The other drink, to take you to your Texas cowboy roots, straight whiskey

Sipping straight alcohol can actually keep you drinking at a nice, slow pace as its much

harder to breeze through a glass of whiskey than a cold beer.

If you haven't seen this video right here, your gonna like it I suggest you click on

it to watch.

And if you didn't take advantage and grab your free vocal power Cheat sheet, you can

click right here.

Best Ways To Make Money With Cryptocurrency 2017 - 2018 (Top 3 Ways I Invest In Crypto) - Duration: 14:34.

what is going on guys how are you guys doing welcome back to another video

today I want to talk about how to invest in cryptocurrency late 2017 / beginning

of 2018 what I think the trends are looking like if I think it's a good

investment no I'll try to give you guys some information this video is gonna be

very laid-back very relaxed just kind of go over some points what I think is

going up what I think is going down all that stuff obviously I'm only gonna be

speaking on coins that I'm more familiar with all that stuff there I'm gonna

explain you guys different ways you can invest you know mining lending all that

stuff we're gonna cover everything today's videos so let's get started

basically first starters we have the number one way you can invest the number

one way would be buying coins right buying coins holding coins trading

points all that stuff now the main coins I'm gonna go ahead and say our Bitcoin

etherium litecoin those are the three main coins after that you have the

ripple which is gaining a lot of momentum you have other icos that are

gaining a ton of momentum but we're gonna stick to coins here that are you

know currently out in the marketplace I think if you guys want to invest in any

cryptocurrency Bitcoin is difficult to invest in because of the price you guys

know it's almost at 6,000 do I think it's a bad investment though nope I'd

see cryptocurrency going I see Bitcoin going up the trend shows

it the fact that so many that they think about it this way right supply and

demand again just like last video supply and demand

there are more people that are learning about Bitcoin and that want to get into

Bitcoin because they see so much potential in Bitcoin that the prince is

gonna keep dragging up that my in my opinion that's what's gonna happen for

the next you know a couple of years until Bitcoin establishes itself in the

world as like I'm here to stay I think the price is just gonna keep going up

and the problem is I see I see huge potential guys if you guys want to see

me make a video my Bitcoin price prediction for you know the end of the

year beginning of next year the end of next year wherever it may be

leave in the comments and I will go ahead and make predictions but for now

I'm gonna say that I see a lot of potential and I see a greicy constant

growth in Bitcoin at least for the next several years right so I think bitcoins

always a safe investment how would you buy Bitcoin coinbase I'm

gonna leave a link for coinbase down below if you guys use the link you get

ten dollars in Bitcoin for free when you make your first purchase of over $100

that's just that's the number one way I can suggest you buy Bitcoin aetherium

and litecoin now bitcoin through my coin I think these three are very very safe

bets let's open up their graphs all right let's talk a little bit about

graphs and trends and stuff right oh my god computer spazzing Bitcoin first one

right let's see boy if you got into if you got in back here it's already $100

here q Matt all the way back you know all the way back can we see all the way

back now but Bitcoin was trading for very little money at some point and now

look at where it is it's crazy to see I missed on that opportunity I'm sure

telling you guys did too otherwise you probably wouldn't be watching this video

you just be laying down on your yacht but let's take a look so what is the

trend with Bitcoin right we're looking at the long term trend actually let's

put it into you know one year just show a little better so the trend with

Bitcoin is you guys can see Bitcoin goes up it'll level down a little bit come

down it'll go up it'll level a little bit come down then it'll go up what I

think's happening right now I think we're close to reaching a stabilization

point right we just hit a hundred billion dollars in market cap just hit

six thousand dollars in price I think we're gonna stabilize a little bit

probably take a little bit of a dip um not too much from like 5,600 5,700 and

then continue the upward trend but if you guys look at it in the long run you

guys can see what the graphs looking like I think it's gonna keep doing this

so it's never a bad time to get into Bitcoin in my opinion I think it's if

you buy and hold it if you're not planning on selling it tomorrow if you

buy and ready to hold it for a year man I think you can make a lot a lot of

money and even if you can't buy a whole Bitcoin buy whatever you can afford

right don't invest more than you can't afford to lose but I think just invest

what you can into Bitcoin you can buy point 1 Bitcoin and if it doubles in

price you'll still double your money so as is my opinion it aetherium let's see

if they're um zoom into what we won't do one year as

well one year is pretty easy god there's so many lines sometimes there's so many

lines let's look at it in u.s. dollars so the green line we're looking at the

Green Line right square everything else the Green Line the thing of the theorems

that it took it climbed up a lot it jumped you guys can see it went from $13

to four hundred ten dollars really fast so naturally what happens there's a

correction simple then it goes back up really fast there's a correction of

course now it's on its way to kind of looks like it's stabilizing but I think

it might probably go up a little bit before it goes back down I don't know

you guys can see the price in Bitcoin kind of went up a lot and then went down

but yeah it's really hard to predict etherium is one that I think it can go

up I think in the future it will go up but I think it went up so fast first

that's gonna stabilize a little bit you know people are kind of wary and

cautious now it would just be it'd be risky to jump in right now I think

you're safer with Bitcoin than you are with etherium litecoin litecoin that

thinks a pretty good one like coins cheap 56 dollars you know like coins

cheap and litecoin is trending upwards pretty constantly you guys he had one

major spike here then it corrected itself and now it's back on the same

path right so things to look out with this is that usually when things spike

they correct there's always a correction and then it normally balances out so you

guys can see it goes up above a bump and if you look at this trend right if you

look at this trend right this trend sorry it's gonna zoom in you guys look

at that trend and you guys look at the continuation after huh oh my god what's

going on all right you guys look at this trend and after the jump you guys look

the continuation after you guys can see oh my god you guys can see that this

looks pretty salt looks pretty similar to this upper trend right so obviously

remember look at the Green Line so in my opinion like corn will continue to trend

upwards of course everything's gonna have all totally cryptocurrency is a

very very volatile market volatile market but I think your safest bet is

Bitcoin litecoin in theory I'm I'd be a little bit more cautious about but in

the long run I think you will be safe another option you guys

have is investing in smaller currencies you have ripple you have a ripple it's

currently 20 cents I remember ripple when it was 12 cents so you guys see

it's almost doubled already and it doesn't cost a lot of money so again

very easy to get into um - what's - looking like I actually haven't looked

at the - graph in a while yeah yeah had a huge spike had a huge spike and now it

looks like it's correcting a little bit - I'd say could go up I would be less

confident though compared to the other ones so conclusion I'd say which one

would I invest in right now I'd invest in Bitcoin I'd invest in litecoin I

would probably get to Ripple right now if I'm not mistaken ripple just took a

dip yeah look at that look at the look at the orange line and

the green line you see how it's spiked up fell down spiked up fell down spiked

up fell down so I think we're at the right to find a point I think now would

be a good time to get into Ripple I definitely want to be getting some more

of these of the som more ripple and some more Bitcoin and some more like coin in

the future now that's the first way first way to invest right buying coins

simple simple simple what's the next week to invest Genesis mining what's

Genesis mining Genesis mining is mining cryptocurrency so you guys can see they

have one two three four five six they have six different contracts where you

can mine cryptocurrency and obviously Bitcoin mining you mine Bitcoin in

theory of mining you mind ethereal now the thing to remember is that most of

these I think do all of them alright so all of these are two-year contracts

except for the big coin the big contract is in my opinion the most profitable one

so I am waiting for it to come back so I can buy a ton of them and stock up the

good thing about it is an open-ended contract no limit no two-year limit it's

as long as its profitable the moment it goes 20 days without being profitable

then your contracts terminated so it's kind of a risky play but with Bitcoin I

don't believe I don't really think it's that risky um like I said I see a

Bitcoin going up anyways difficulty will continue to go up but the price will

continue to go up in my opinion if anything mining the

reason why I missed in my knees if you mind it you're getting Bitcoin right so

if you get that big one you hold that Bitcoin you could be investing in

Bitcoin while mining Bitcoin at the same time you see the like this train you

mind it the price goes up you're then what you have is worth more and it just

keeps going over and over and over again now super easy to cash down to dollars

if you wanted to or you can cash out your Bitcoin put it in your wallet that

again is very very easy but yeah I'm what I plan on doing is I

plan on buying $5,000 contracts I'll probably get 40,000 Terra hash I believe

it is 4000 Terra hash I should be making roughly 36 dollars a day at the current

rate um actually me show you guys what it looks like let me show you guys well

looks like why not Bitcoin mining calculator sorry we're gonna look at the

Bitcoin mining powder since you're cloud mining there's no cost or anything pool

fee will quickly fill that in it's 28% when you're out there I'm gonna invest

$5,000 $5,000 and my hash tray is gonna be 40,000 Giga hash it's gonna be 40

tera hash right 28 billable block correct among those so I get my money

back in 136 days so what is it less than half a year I'll be making $36 a day

after you take out the pool fees originally fifty thirty-eight dollars a

day and an annually I'll be making thirteen thousand three hundred seventy

three dollars on a five thousand dollar investment for as long as its profitable

right so that's why I think Genesis mining is a huge huge play lots of money

to be made I'm waiting for the Bitcoin contracts to come back so I can stock up

on as much as I can afford at the moment and yeah just basically sit back and

watch daily money come in like a grant cardone everywhere man look at this

guy's face doesn't just have a happy face I love Grant Cardone the reason why

I invest Grant Cardone anyways that covers cloud mining cloud mining is

basically mining and finding the Bitcoin now the third option big connect it

connects something I've made other videos about my child you want to see

more that videos go and check those out I

currently have almost ten thousand dollars invested in this platform this

is lending so yeah lending what you do is you lend your money to a trading bot

right a robot trader and it pays you out daily interest and yeah basically you

get paid daily interest here's a list of the interest so guys can see today we

got paid one point three eight percent tomorrow's a less lesser investment less

lesser percentage buck day after that it'll probably be a little higher really

depends on volatility you guys can see volatility today was uh let's see it

ranges but I probably has to make we're probably gonna get like point four point

five percent nothing crazy but some good I it's free money right so why wouldn't

you let me show you guys a little bit of what it looks like so if we take the

average last six months the average is 0.93 last thirty days the average is

point eight for the last seven days point six for last seven days it's been

correcting from the huge spike ahead so that's why it's so low so I'm gonna go

the last thirty days and if you guys were to invest now I told you guys I

have a I have like a six thousand eight hundred dollar investment than a two

thousand seven so I'm almost at ten thousand but let's say you guys just

have let's say you guys do the ten thousand dollar loan right what's gonna

go with the big numbers you get your money back one hundred twenty-nine days

I think let me take a look 120 days so thing is you're once you invest $10,000

here $10,000 is stuck right like it's being held for 120 days I've gone to 20

days they released your full $10,000 back straight to you and you get to take

it home but during those 120 days you get paid out daily interest every day so

everything that you're earning interest is profit

basically right so we're gonna calculate and your profit is gonna be $13,000

after 120 days which is like four months right four months I like around about

you get you put in 10,000 at the end of the date you leave with 23,000 so

thirteen thousand its profit 130 percent ROI guys I'm invested in this I've

withdrawn money every day from it no problem send it to my wallet no

problem I trust the platform I seen a lot of people skeptical about it I

trusted though I have a link for it down below if you guys are interested you

guys be joining part of my team and we really love to have you guys there it's

free to sign up you have to transfer money that's when it cost something but

it's invested money so you guys can sign up for free and if you guys later on

decide that you wanted to invest money then you can transfer it in for now

there's no reason not to sign up it's free you guys can play around the

dashboard see what you guys think and yeah basically those are my three

biggest ways of investing cryptocurrency those are the three ways which I

invested in cryptocurrency and those are three ways I understand I don't know if

there's any other ways I'm not an expert in anything else these three are the

ones that I like the ones I'm comfortable with and the ones that I'm

willing to talk about so guys if you guys learned something in this video

smash the thumbs up button and subscribe to the channel if you guys are

interested in more of this type of content the more cryptocurrency talk I'd

love to make more videos I'm super interested in crypto currency so I'm

learning everyday I would love to share what I'm learning with you guys just

don't forget to subscribe and yeah leave a comment down below if you guys enjoyed

if you guys want to see anything in particular and I will go ahead and make

those videos for you hey guys thank you so much for watching again I'll see you

guys tomorrow for another video

5 Things School Doesn't Teach You - Duration: 8:41.

Believe it or not, there are some things that school won't teach you and today I'm going

to expose five of those things!

Hello and welcome back to CapOhTV, the channel where we know school is a joke but you still

have to do something!

I don't want to waste too much of your time, I'm sure school has done that enough, so let's

get right into these five things.

Crazy as this sounds, you don't have to be friends with everyone.

For whatever reason, when you're in school, people assume that just because you've known

someone for the past 12 years means that they're your friend.

Not the case.

You can be friendly with someone but you don't need to be friends with them.

Here's an example of how this works in the real world.

When you get your first job or your second job or whatever it happens to be, you're gonna

have a group of people that you have to coexist with in order to get the job done.

However, you will probably never, ever see those people outside of work because they're

not your friends.

And you shouldn't feel pressured to be their friend just because you spend seven or eight

hours a day with them.

Trust me, if you can learn to separate who's your friend and who's not your friend and

not try to get it all mixed up and feel pressured to be someone's friend who you don't really

want to spend any time with outside of the time you have to spend with them, then your

life is gonna be much simpler.

Debt is bad, m'kay?

Sorry, but that's a very bad Mr. Mackie impression.

It's still true, though.

Debt is bad but you wouldn't know that by going through school.

Most high schools that I know of now require you to go through some sort of financial literacy

courses.

It's supposed to prepare you for the real world, it's supposed to teach you how to manage

money, how to pay your bills and how not to be broke.

And in the classes that I've seen it includes a little simulation game, it kind of looks

like The Sims, except it's really watered down and only teaches you how to pay your

bills.

But guess who the sponsors are behind the material for these financial literacy classes...

Visa, Mastercard, HSBC, Chase Bank, etc, etc, etc...

They teach the traditional path which will lead you into financial ruin.

They say after high school you have to go to college.

In order to go to college you probably have to take out forty or fifty thousands dollars

in student loans.

And while you're in college or shortly after you need to get a car to the tune of fifteen

to twenty thousand dollars which you should also finance.

And then you might want to buy a house, so you should finance that, too, because who

buys a house these days without a giant mortgage?

Oh, and guess what, you can lease your cell phones now so you never have to actually buy

one, you can just make payments on one and then return it when you're done with it to

get a new one and keep making payments to the creditors over and over and over again.

As long as you owe more money than you actually have, you're broke.

And it doesn't matter how small your monthly payments are, the fact is that you've got

sixty, seventy, eighty thousand dollars in debt by the time you graduate college.

And then you're gonna slap on another hundred and fifty thousand dollars for a house.

Debt is bad, m'kay?

This is a big one: your first job will not be your last job.

I've touched on this in previous videos, but there's this idea that is still taught in

school by almost everyone.

The idea is that you need to choose a career path before you graduate, you need to have

a very clear direction before you graduate, you need to have your entire life planned

out to the last minute before you gradute.

They're saying that your first job is going to be your last job.

Let's be real, though... it's not.

Your first job is probably the first job out of ten to fifteen things you might do in your

lifetime, especially in the world that we live in now.

Things happen fast and for most people that means job changes on a regular basis.

You might stay within the same industry and do a different job in that industry but you're

not, in all likelihood, you're not gonna stay at the same position that you start at after

high school or college for your whole life.

Those days are over because either you're gonna just go on and do something better or

that company is gonna shut down because of the economic climate that we have or that

company is gonna downsize and get rid of you...

what else... that company could outgrow you and say your

services are no longer up to snuff.

There are so many factors these days that you can't count one job for your whole life.

Let's get into a big-picture idea right now: school will not teach you that you are in

control of your own life.

Let that sink in for a second: school will not teach you that you are in control of your

own life.

I've made numerous videos that highlight the fact that the school system has complete dominion

over you while you're a student.

School teaches students to be dependent on authority and to follow directions.

It teaches students that they are just another cog, another mindless drone in a sea of mindless

drones and if you don't drone well enough, if you don't follow directions and perform

the tasks that are assigned to you well enough, then you're marked as a failure, you're discarded

and they just move on to the other thousand people that are behind you in line.

Nowhere will they truly teach you that you're in control of your own life.

You're either answering to the teacher, answering to a teacher's aide, answering to a principal,

superintendent, what-have-you...

It's always someone else who's in control of what you do, think, and say.

But I'm telling you you're in control of your own life and you're gonna have to figure out

what that really means.

Another thing school won't teach you is that high school is not the end of your life.

The idea that the four years you spend in high school are your peak years is a lie that

is told to you by school, TV, and movies.

But somehow this myth continues that these four years are the most important years of

your life and if you're not told that, then you're told that college is the most important

time of your life.

High school and college are only four year chunks of your entire 75, 85, 95 year old

life.

It's insignificant.

It's almost like school is not important and it doesn't matter.

But I bet some people watching right now have been told and have fallen for the lie that

high school is supposed to be the best years of your life.

If you believe that and it's not living up to the best years of your life, whatever that

idea means to you, then you're probably having a really, really sucky four years.

High school is a little BLINK on the timeline of your entire life.

You'll never see 99% of these people ever again.

You'll never see any of the principals again, the teachers, the aides, the janitors.

All of that will be gone far, far in the past as soon as you graduate.

All your negative memories about high school will probably only be remembered by you if

you hang onto them.

No one's gonna remember or care what happened to you in third period on June 7th, 2018.

No one cares.

High school is not the end of your life and you're in control of your own destiny.

What other things do you think there are that school won't teach you or can't teach you?

Leave a comment down below and let's talk about that.

What's CAR-T therapy anyway? - Moffitt Cancer Center - Duration: 1:21.

CAR-T therapy is a process where millions of T-cells are removed from a patient and

genetically engineered.

Think of T-cells as the soldiers of the immune system.

They patrol our bodies looking for any signs of infection or disease.

They relentlessly fight off foreign invaders, dangerous to the body.

But T-cells don't always recognize and attack cancer cells.

Thus rendering the body's own immune system ineffective in the fight against cancer.

Now, scientists can collect these T-cells or soldiers from a patient's blood and give

them an upgrade.

Researchers genetically modify the patient's T-cells by adding a chimeric antigen receptor

or CAR.

This receptor is like a GPS that directs the T-cells to target and kill cancer.

The modified CAR-T cells are then infused back into the body.

No longer average immune soldiers, but a group of Special Forces enlisted to seek and destroy

cancer cells.

A lot of them!

This breakthrough therapy is currently approved for the treatment of certain types of leukemia and lymphoma

but researchers are studying this approach for many different types of cancers.

CAR-T therapy is just one approach researchers have developed to harness the power of our

body's own immune system to conquer the battle against cancer.

How To AVOID Getting Cut So You Make The Basketball Team! - Duration: 10:54.

- Hey, what's up guys? Coach Rocky here,

the official trainer here for I Love Basketball TV

and today we're gonna talk about

how to avoid getting cut in tryouts.

Let's get into it.

So, with tryouts right about the corner,

I felt that there was no better time than right now

to do this video for you.

Now, I've not only had experience

of going through many different tryouts

and things of that nature

and knowing what it takes to actually make teams,

but I've also coached at the varsity level for two years

as an Assistant Varsity Coach

and I kinda know the things that as a coach

that I was looking for in the players

when it came to making the team.

Now, I will preface this by saying that

as a coach, we pretty much knew

before tryouts even started

of the the players that we were gonna take,

especially at the high school level

because at the high school level,

they have open gyms, they have preseason open gym,

preseason workouts and things of that nature

and you should have been attending those

because there's no better way to make a team,

there's no better way to perform better in tryouts

than by getting the attention of the coaches.

So, by the coaches seeing you everyday at open gym,

seeing you putting in the extra work

in the preseason workouts

and off-season workouts if you did summer workouts.

There's no better way to get

in good standings with that coach,

so that it makes it easier for you to make the team.

Now, middle school ball is a little more difficult

because there aren't things such as...

There aren't as many things as open gym

and off-season workouts,

but it is still possible to build a good relationship

with your coach by just talking to the coach,

talking to the other people that

maybe were on the team last year,

becoming friends with those players.

Friends are gonna vouch for friends.

They're gonna want you on their teams.

Their teams are gonna look better.

They're gonna have better chemistry when playing.

So, if you're playing with guys

that played on the team last year

and you're hanging out with guys that

played on the team last year

and they've been where you're trying to be.

If you associate yourself with those players,

you're gonna start working like them,

you're gonna start building the relationships like them.

When they're around the coach,

you'll be around the coach.

So, those are some things that you should have

already been doing.

Now, if you haven't been doing that,

this video is gonna kinda bring to light

some other things that you can be doing

actually in tryouts to avoid getting cut.

So, whether you have been building relationships

with your teammates or your coaches

or, you know your future teammates and coaches.

If you haven't been building the relationships

or you have been, either way these eight tips

that I give to you today to avoid getting cut from the team

are gonna help you have more success during your tryouts.

Tip number one - hustle.

Hustling doesn't take any skills.

All it takes is heart and determination,

so if you want to play on the team, you have to hustle

because it's a must.

Again, there's no excuse not to hustle.

What do I mean by hustling?

Getting back on defense,

being the first one down the court on offense,

hustling for loose balls,

diving on the ground.

Again, these things take no skills.

If you're not willing to do it, somebody else will

and as a former coach, we look for the players

that are willing to leave it all on the court.

Somebody that we knew would

come to practice everyday and grind.

They would battle everyday.

They would hustle everyday.

These are the type of players that

coaches want on their team,

so tip number one, you have to hustle.

Tip number two - be a great teammate.

Again, this is another thing that doesn't take skills,

doesn't take talent.

All you have to do is be a great teammate.

What I mean by being a great teammate

is if there's a mistake, don't blame somebody else for it.

If you make a mistake, don't blame somebody else for it.

Even if they make a mistake, pat them on the back.

Tell them that it's okay.

Next play, keep it moving by staying positive.

What that's gonna do is it's gonna bring confidence

in your teammates.

They're gonna get more confident.

They're gonna get more confident in you

and if you're staying positive

and you're being a great teammate,

when you make mistakes, guess what?

People aren't gonna get on you

because you didn't get on them.

If you get on them,

then that kinda opens up Pandora's Box.

They're gonna get on you.

You're gonna get on them.

Then, everybody's bad teammates.

You can be a great teammate by staying positive,

patting other teammate's players on the back

even if they make a mistake, even if you make a mistake.

Stay positive.

As a coach, this is something that

we see and we value in players

because team chemistry is extremely important.

Tip number three, what do you know,

doesn't involve any skills.

Arrive early.

Be there early. Not on time.

If you have to be at tryouts at three,

on the court at three,

don't get there at 2:55 p.m.

As soon as school ends, get to the locker room, get ready,

get on the court, get some shots up.

Come warm, come prepared.

Get your mind ready.

There's always those players

that wanna hang out in the hallways,

wanna talk to their little girlfriends,

hang out with their friends,

walk them to the bus,

and then show up in the locker room at 2:50 p.m.

and then take forever to put on their shoes.

They come on the court at 2:59 p.m.

and tryouts start at three.

Do not be this person.

As a coach, I'm gonna be one of the first ones

on the court, getting the balls out for the players.

If I see you strolling in

with one minute before tryouts start,

I'm gonna think you're not serious.

I'm gonna think you're not focused

and I'm definitely not gonna be focused on you

during the tryouts.

You're automatically gonna put kinda that bad taste

in the coach's mouth before tryouts even start.

You don't wanna do this.

Arrive early.

Tip number four and you should be starting to see

a common theme in these tips,

is be vocal.

Again, doesn't take any skills, doesn't take any talent.

What I mean by being vocal is

compliment teammates, talk on defense, talk on offense.

By being vocal, it's gonna demonstrate

that you one, know what you're doing,

two, it's gonna cause attention to you on the court

and three, it's another great way to remain positive.

Comment.

If somebody hits a shot,

aye good shot, man!

Don't just give a high five.

Aye, great shot!

Good pass!

Good D!

I got help!

Talk loud. Let it be known that you're on the court.

Clap on D, clap on offense.

If your coach says something, say yes sir, no sir.

Be loud, be demonstrative and be confident

in yourself and your game.

One of my best friends used to tell me a good quote,

stick to what you know.

So, if you're on the court, don't be trying to

dribble between your legs, behind your back

if you can't dribble.

Stick to things that you know.

Stick to things that you do well.

Now, if you're a lights out shooter

but maybe you can't dribble,

then don't try and dribble,

have the guys that can dribble set you up for shots,

get screens, use minimum dribbles to get your shot off.

So, again stick to what you know and do what you do well

on the court.

This will always make you look good.

If you know you're the fastest person on the court,

then use that speed.

Sprint every time you can, whether it's defense, offense,

run the ball down the court.

Do what you do well

and your coach will notice

that, hey this guy can actually do somethings pretty good.

Tip number six - be in shape.

Come to tryouts in shape.

Now, if you have been going to off-season workouts

and playing in off-season open gyms

or preseason open gyms, I should say,

then you should be in pretty good shape.

If you haven't, and I know there're some players

that for whatever reason, whether they're scared

or they're insecure,

they come to tryouts not in shape.

They miss all the preseason workouts

because they don't wanna play with everybody else

and they come outta shape.

I'll tell you as a coach, the first few days we ran a lot.

We ran a lot of sprints

because I wanted to get the people

that were outta shape out the gym.

The best way for me to get rid of somebody

wasn't to cut them, it was to have them quit.

So, I will tell you, the first few days,

there's probably gonna be a lot of running.

If you're not in shape, you will get exposed.

Tip number seven - play defense.

Now again, all these tips, the majority of these tips

don't require any skill, besides maybe tip number five

where I mentioned do what you do well.

That requires a little skill but again,

defense doesn't require too much skill.

It's more heart and determination.

Now, there are some simple tips and techniques

you could use to become a better defender,

but with that being said,

if you wanna play defense and you wanna shut down your man,

then that's probably what you're gonna do.

Now, a lot of players just don't wanna play defense.

Defense isn't the most sexy thing.

It's not the best thing to do,

but I was watching the game the other day

and Patrick Beverley when he was

going up against Lonzo Ball,

shut him down and he took pride in shutting him down

and you know what he chanted

when he was done stealing the ball,

"First team! First team!"

He wasn't talking about first team All-NBA,

he was talking about first team all defense.

You need to have this same type of mentality

when you're on the court in tryouts

because again, as a coach we love players

that can play defense.

Maybe a guy can't shoot well,

maybe he can't dribble well,

but there will be a spot on the team

for the guy that can lock down any offensive player.

Tip number eight, last but definitely not least,

is demonstrating good basketball IQ.

Knowing where to be on the court,

knowing little things like boxing out,

knowing help defense,

knowing when to make the right pass,

knowing when to take the right shot.

Having a good basketball IQ

is a great way for a coach

to be able to pick out the players

because not everybody is going to be a great scorer,

not everybody is going to be a great ball handler.

Teams only have one or two awesome players.

Everybody else are players that kinda fit in

and they know the roles and they play their positions

and they know the game of basketball.

If you have good basketball IQ

and you know the game,

then there will be a spot for you on the team.

Good luck in your tryouts coming up

and if you want a free scoring workout that helps you

take your scoring to the next level

before those tryouts,

yes, this workout works quick,

click that first link in the description.

That's gonna take you to a page.

I'm just gonna ask you for your first name, your email.

You put in your first name, put in your email

and I'll instantly send you over that workout.

It's gonna work on mobile; it's gonna work on desktop.

Any device, it's gonna work.

So, you can start getting better today.

You can take it to the court

and start training today right now.

Also, don't forget to hit that thumbs up for me

if you enjoyed the video.
