Press the bell icon and never miss update from Aasaanjobs.
We have always heard of companies complaining that fresher are not adequately equipped with the
right skills for the real world scenario.
There is huge gap between what is being taught in colleges and what is actually required
in the real World.
So we at Aasaanjobs for that we are going to make a video for all who student out their
studying under graduation or post graduation programs and we are going to tell you, how do we
well equipped to face the real world.
Lets get started.
Point 1: Figure Out The Alternate Available For You
You need to get started with is study all the option available to you, no matter which
course you are pursuing.
There's going to be a list of jobs available to you right after college, start with that list
& figure are the skills required for those jobs.
Match it again, skills that you already have.
This will also require some amount of self evaluation.
But there should be a good starting point for you to figure out What are your option?
Point 2: Get In Touch With Alumini/Network Once you narrowed down to a few job role that
you might want you to pursue.
It's time to start meeting people who are already down those career paths.
The best way here is to connect some aluminis for college itself.
Meet them & understand why they made those choices, what are skills required and where
you can improve.
Ask them pros and cons of the job role.
This will help you to understand, if you are fit for it or not.
Once this process is over then you will have definite list of job role, that you want to
try out.
Now it time to understand, what skills are required for this job roles, What is career
progression 5, 10, 15 Years down the line.
Narrow down what is most attractive and suitable for you.
Point 3: Determine Your Skill Sets & Start Working Them
Now that you narrowed down to few job role that you are looking to try after speaking to
your alumini.
You also have an idea of what is skill set required and where you are lacking.
It's time to start working on those skills.
No matter which profession you are after there is always going to be some skills you need to learn. Perhaps,
if you software, it could be as simple as Microsoft Excel.
But the idea is to start learning and start adding those skills to your CV.
Which brings me to my next point
Point 4: Add Your Skill To Your CV Add all those skills to your CV, these are
the most relevant thing that are going to get you a job.
These are skills that bridged a gap between what is taught in college and what is actually
required, out there in the real World.
So for example if you become good at some software that you will need, once you get the
job that you already decided you want to apply to, add that to your CV.
The difference here is that while all of the other student are only going to education
qualification on their CV, you actually have real World job skills.
Point 5: Get An Internship The next things going to be important is "Internship".
Yes you have acquired a lot of new skills, but there is nothing better than actually going out,
working in some companies and putting those skills to use.
Intership could be a great way to get started there, a lot of companies might hesitate to
hire fresher directly.
But they might be an okay to give an intership few month & test you up, that is your opportunity
to go and put your skills to great use.
Points 6: Start Experimenting These are the thing that you need to keep
in your mind while you make your transition from college to your first job.
However, while doing these keep one thing in mind, everyone try to make sure that they
end up with the best job right from the very beginning.
But that might not happen, in that case be ready to experiment.
It is always okay as fresher to make a few jumps in your career, you might want to began
with a sales then eventually you end up with marketing because sales did not work out for you
or any other career option for that matter.
So keep in mind experiment till you find something that suits you the best and with that we come
to the end of this video.
