today it's time for an echo an unboxing I'm have a look inside this kit the necron
doomsday ark and necron ghost ark let's do this Nick speaking and welcome
to this video right today I am gonna unbox the necron doomsday ark/
ghost ark I am looking forward to having a look in
this box I do already own a couple of these models but it's been a long time
since I built them now before we have a look inside the box if you would like to
keep up to date with the wonders of Warhammer 40k not miss a necron upload
then please subscribe and hit the bell button so you don't miss a video okay so
before we go table down and have a look inside
this awesome box I just want to say a massive thank you to Al from Al wood's
modelling mayhem because actually this box was donated from him so Al a
massive massive thank you now Al was doing a necron army but his real passion
is scale modeling and he's got some great scale model builds over on his
channel I will link you up to his channel in the description below for you
to check out he is also doing kill team with his son so it's well worth
having a look right it's now time to go table down and do a necron unboxing okay
so here is the kit and this is of course a dual kit so you can make the ghost ark
as pictured on the front or you can make the doomsday Ark as pictured on
the back so let's get the cellophane off and have a quick look inside
okay cellophane off right let's get the lid off okay here we go look at that a
massive box for the sprues this box could be half the size and get all of
the sprues in there but anyway isn't that life buy a packet of crisps open it
up and it's half empty right so we've got some sprues and of course
instruction book we've got some decals or decals two sets of those and some
stems and a flying base okay so first of all the instruction book it's designed a
little bit like a road map so it unfolds and it's impossible to fold back
together again and it is big but it is very well
detailed in terms of all of the bits and sections that you have to build as I
said I've built this kit before in actual fact I magnetised it between
the two which yeah there you go I was never very good at folding maps
I magnetised it between the two so that you could obviously get the most out of the
kit right let's have a look at the sprues so we've got a three sprues in
total two are the same so let's have a look at those okay so these two sprues
are basically the front section of the Ark you've got these spines here and
these join together and then once you've built them they all join together
themselves now the thing to bear in mind is although they're not supposed to go
in any particular order I've heard of horror stories where they
don't actually fit very well so don't forget to dry fit everything before you
glue it you've also got the Warriors on here these are for the ghost ark now if
you're planning on building this as a doomsday Ark it means you will get all
these warriors left over and these are great for making objectives or just for
basing material you have one half of the big gun for the doomsday Ark on this
sprue and the other half of course on the other sprue then you have your gauss
flayers just there the detailing on this kit is pretty awesome and if you're not
going to magnetise them you end up quite a few spare parts left over which is
pretty cool so as I said you get two of those sprues okay so this is the other
sprue this is effectively the back section of the model with these two big
arcs you'll be using that for both of the kit options along with all of the
other panels I would recommend it's probably worthwhile considering painting
some of these pieces before you actually glue them together and that would
include the driver of this vehicle because that can be quite fiddly to
actually glue together so I would recommend you paint the driver before
you glue him in now as I said you get two sheets of decals I don't use decals
or transfer sheets on my models but they are in the kit and then you get the
flying base now you get two very short stems I prefer to have a bigger stem
with my ghost arks now it's fair to say that this little stem fitting on that
big ghost ark which is about that big in size is a bit wobbly you could
potentially look at using a different basing system maybe magnetise it I know
some people use two bases one at the front and one at the back I've just got
this single base here and although it's a bit awkward it does work so the little
stem just pushes into that hole there now you could glue it into place but to
be fair you don't have to it just pushes into place and gluing it it doesn't make
it any more steadier in actual fact it just puts you at more risk if the model
does get slightly knocked the top of the stem is going to break so I just push
mine into place the arc is a little bit wobbly on the flying stand but it is
doable and that is what you get in the box now if you are interested in
magnetising this kit and I would highly recommend you magnetise it you never
know what Games Workshop are going to do in the future which models are going to
be the flavour of the month I do have a magnetising tutorial which you can check
out I'll put a link in the top right hand corner there for you to have a look
at and if you enjoyed the video please consider subscribing hit my icon at the
end of the video so you can keep up to date with the wonders of Warhammer 40k
