Mike Sarge: Music artists and entrepreneurs, what's good?

Mike Sarge here from mikesarge.com.

Today, I'm getting into the top five reasons why people may not be supporting you.

Yeah, go ahead and get your pad and your pen now.

You don't want to miss this one.

And go ahead that subscribe button and let's work.

So listen to that.

Mike Sarge: So you finally did it.

You finally decided to start pursuing what you love.

I mean, regardless if that's in music as a career, regardless if that in the medical

field, education as a teacher, you're going to release your first book finally, you want

to get into law enforcement or politics, whatever it is, you finally made the decision and that's

the hardest part.

But, why does it feel like no one's got your back?

Speaker 2: The power of Christ compels you.

The power of Christ compels you.

Mike Sarge: You know, why does it feel like your family members, or your friends, or your

coworkers, or the ones in your community, or at your church, why does it feel like they're

not really showing you love and support like you feel like they should?

They should be the ones, the very first ones to be liking your stuff, right?

To be buying your product, to be sharing it, to leaving comments, things like that.

Today, I'm going to give you five reasons why that may not be happening.

We're going to find out real quick, is it their fault or is it yours?

Stay tuned.

This is in no particular order.

Let's get it.

Mike Sarge: All right, so let's start this off.

Number one, if I could think of one right now, of reasons why people may not be supporting

you is, that you're not professional.

Some of you guys are just not professional.

What I mean by unprofessional is, I go to your events, I go to your shows, I go to your

conferences, your book openings, your company opening day, or whatever and it's unorganized,

it's unprofessional, people got nasty attitudes, running behind.

I may have sacrificed a couple other events or things that I wanted to do that day, but

I sacrificed so I could be there to support you, and things are just not working well,

or running smoothly.

You don't reply to emails.

You may have a wack email address.

Some of you all sending emails from erotic pony or erotic princess 1976.

Look, I'm not even going to get into that because that's a real thing.

I didn't just make that up off the spot.

But anyway, things are just not right.

There's just unprofessional, and unorganized, and that may be a reason why people aren't

supporting you the way that you want them to.

Mike Sarge: Side note, throwing shade at people on social media and not actually talking to

them and complaining that they're not supporting you, that's also a form of being unprofessional.

Just keeping it real with you.

Mike Sarge: All right.

If had to think of a number two, the number two reason why people probably don't support

you is, because you don't understand your following.

You set too high of expectations on other people when it comes to your passion, your

dreams, your art.

Let me give you an example.

For me personally in my brand, I know what my audience, my following loves.

It's either one of five things.

They either are huge fans of music.

They love inspirational content.

They're into religious content as well.

They love sports and funny things like me.

That's for me personally.

Mike Sarge: But let's say for your brand in particular, let's say, music, and you're another

artist.

You want me to share your content.

Well, your audience likes things that are focused on money, sex, drugs, banging on the

street, things like that.

Well, it's going to be pretty hard for me to share your content with my audience because

that doesn't fit what they look for.

Sometimes, we put too high expectations on people that follow us because if I'm following

you, and you're asking me to share your stuff or to spread the news, I might be doing that.

I just might be doing that through word of mouth.

But just because you don't visible see it, you don't see me doing it, that does not mean

that I'm not supporting you.

We all have to get out of the mentality that just because we don't see people doing something,

that does not mean that they don't support you.

That does not mean that they don't have your back.

Bring your expectations down a little bit, and then once you do that, lower that joint

a little bit more.

You feel me?

Mike Sarge: All right, so my next three points, I really want to hammer in on your content

and the things that you're releasing because number three is the fact that your content

is not consistent.

It's not consistent.

I've seen it so many times where you have people, when you have creatives like you and

me, where we post, we make posts, let's say Monday and Tuesday, we made a post, made five

posts on Monday, then another six or seven on Tuesday.

And then what, we disappear from Wednesday till about Sunday.

Why?

Because we didn't plan it out and we're not being consistent.

How are people supposed to follow you?

How are people supposed to be excited about what you're going to come out next, is if

one day you make all these posts, and then a couple days later we don't even hear from

you?

For music artists, you can't just release a song, or an EP, or an album, make all the

announcements about it, and then when it comes out you just go ghost.

We don't hear from you.

You can't be an author, release a book, and we hear from you for about a week, and then

you just fall off the map and you don't continue promoting your book, your product, Same thing

with any entrepreneurs.

So I'm telling you guys, you have to be consistent.

Plan out.

Mike Sarge: If you have nine to ten photos that you can possibly put on social media,

or through your email list, or your newsletter, plan those out.

Just don't post them all on a day.

What for?

That's just wasting good content.

Please make sure that you're being consistent by actually planning stuff out.

Mike Sarge: Now, sticking with the whole content thing.

Number four, some of you guys aren't releasing engaging content, engaging content.

If you follow me on any of my accounts, whether it's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, things

like that, sometimes, I will release content that's different from the usual.

I may post a meme, or I may post a question.

I may ask a question like, what better when it comes to fried chicken, the drum or the

flats?

Don't answer that.

Some of you guys I may have to cut off as friends because you're probably going to give

an answer that's unacceptable, and I don't want to do that to you.

I don't want to do that.

I love all of you all.

But the point is, when I pose a question like that, many people will leave comments to give

their opinion, and then it actually forms a community of people around my engaging content.

Ask a question.

As a question that actually matters.

What's the better cereal, Fruity Pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

Don't answer that either.

I don't want you to do it to yourself.

I'm not trying to lose friends today, or followers, subscribers, et cetera.

I love all of you equally, some of you all.

Mike Sarge: But, yes.

Make it fun.

Make it engaging.

Every now and then, post a photo of a meme, post a photo of you just doing something goofy,

or something random in Walmart, which there are tons of things that you could probably

take video of and photos of in Walmart.

I'm not even going to get there either.

Back on topic, my bad.

Basically, what I'm really trying to say is, don't be boring, all right?

Make engaging content.

People already know why they follow you, right?

But, show them the personal side.

Show them who you are and don't just release content only on your brand, or not necessarily

your brand, but only on your music, or only on your product.

Show them who you are, the real you.

Mike Sarge: All right.

The last point for the day when it comes to the content and why people do not support

you is your content isn't even relevant.

Look, there's a reason, again, there is a reason why people are following you.

If you are a music artist, and I go on your page, I expect to see posts about your career.

So for me, I'm a hip-hop dude.

I'm a music artist, right?

So when you go to my page, when you go to my IG, you're going to see pictures of me

on a stage, you're going to see pictures of maybe an EB cover, or a single cover, you're

going to see promotion from my Spotify, from my YouTube channel.

You know what I mean?

You're going to see things that are music related.

There might be a video, a music video, right?

There might be a 10 or a 30 second clip of a snippit of a song that I'm working on.

It is relative to why you follow me.

Again, when it comes to your content, and whatever you're pursuing, whatever your dreams

are, whatever you're pushing out, it needs to be relevant to why people are following

you.

Yeah, I know, it sounds super simple, but a lot of us are slipping on this, and I really

don't understand why.

But, that's okay, you've got your boy here.

I got you.

I got you.

Mike Sarge: I want to make this final point.

Hopefully, I can make it clear.

When it comes to support, everyone is going to play a different role in your career and

in your life, right?

Because, there are going to be people that are going to be there from the start, from

the jump, that are going to have your back that you can visibly see.

They're going to tell you great things and how well you're doing, and they can see the

progression.

There will be other people that tell you, hey, you need to get to better at this, don't

get too prideful, don't get full of yourself, things like that.

Mike Sarge: There are going to be people like that.

But there are also going to be other people that are going to be on the outside.

You may not see them, but they're talking about your content.

They are boosting your numbers.

They are telling other people about your concerts, and about your book, and about your new position,

and your new career, and your store, and things like that, and your services.

So please, humble yourself and understand that everyone's going to have a different

season in your life, and that's okay.

That is okay.

Your job is to make sure you're doing everything that you can to make your product, your music,

your services as undeniable as possible, and everything else will come.

Everything else will come in due time, so don't be focused on other people.

Understand that you have a role and they have a role.

Mike Sarge: So, what did you think?

Why the Tacoma Narrows Bridge Collapsed - Duration: 8:48.

One of the most fundamental jobs of an engineer is to compare loading conditions to strengths.

If the loads exceed the strengths, you know you've got a problem.

Buildings and other structures face a huge variety of loads, including floods, snow,

rain, ice, earthquakes, and crowds of people.

One of the most interesting forces faced by civil structures is the wind.

Hey I'm Grady and this is Practical Engineering.

Today we're diving into one of the classic case studies of engineering failure: the Tacoma

Narrows Bridge.

This video is sponsored by the Great Courses Plus.

More on that later.

A bridge is a quintessential civil structure.

Humanity's need to get from one place to another without getting wet is as old as history

itself.

And for so many years, there was one force with which bridge engineers had to contend:

gravity.

The fundamental question of bridge design was this: "How can we hold up the structure

itself and all the people and vehicles that may cross against the force of gravity pulling

them downward?"

And secondary to that, "How can we do it economically, for the least cost to the public, since most

bridges are funded by the taxpayer?"

So over time, bridge designs evolved with our understanding of structural engineering

and ability to create better construction materials into lighter and more efficient

shapes, one of those shapes being the suspension bridge.

A suspension bridge is essentially just a deck, two towers, two main cables, and connector

rods which suspend the deck, hence the name.

The primary advantage of suspension bridges is that they can so efficiently span long

distances with only two towers, reducing the amount of material required, and more importantly,

the cost.

This advantage of being able to span long distances while minimizing material gives

suspension bridges their iconic slender and graceful appearance.

But that same lack of material reduces the rigidity and stiffness of the structure.

Where, before, bridges were generally stiff enough that gravity was the only load that

needed to be considered, now a new force started to impact their designs: the wind.

In July 1940, the Tacoma Narrows bridge opened to traffic between Tacoma, Washington and

the Kitsap Peninsula.

At the time, it was the third-longest suspension bridge in the world.

Financing construction of the bridge was a major obstacle, which led the state to pursue

an innovative design.

Rather than the originally-proposed trusses, the bridge used two narrow plate girders to

stiffen the deck, giving the bridge its iconic steel ribbon appearance across the Puget Sound.

Unfortunately, that analogy extended beyond its appearance.

Even during construction, it was apparent that the bridge was too flexible even under

moderate winds.

Construction workers gave it the nickname "Galloping Gertie."

Only four months after it opened, the bridge collapsed in dramatic fashion.

In fact, this failure was so dramatic, that there's a good chance you've seen this

video before.

So what's happening here?

You've probably heard of resonance which is where a periodic force syncs up with the

natural frequency of a system.

The classic example is a swing.

With resonance, small periodic driving forces, like pushing someone in a swing, can add up

to large oscillations over time because the energy is stored.

In the case of wind-induced motion, the periodic driving force comes from an effect called

vortex shedding.

This is where a fluid flowing past a blunt object oscillates as vortices are formed on

the backside.

When these alternating zones of low pressure occur at a frequency near the natural frequency

of the structure, even small amounts of wind can lead to major oscillations.

This is why some chimneys are equipped with helical vanes to create turbulence and break

up the vortices.

The day of its failure, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge did experience resonance from the vortex

shedding.

You can see this in the vertical undulations for which the bridge was famous.

But this resonance isn't why it failed.

About 45 minutes before failure, a different kind of oscillation started.

You can see in the historical footage that, right before failure, the bridge isn't oscillating

vertically, but in a twisting or torsional motion.

The reason for this change in oscillation is still debated, but one of the best suggestions

has has to do with the aerodynamics of the bridge.

Rather than a truss through which wind can flow, this shape of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge

with the large steel plates on either side created some strange interactions with the

wind.

Any amount of twist in the bridge created vortices, or areas of low pressure, in locations

that actually amplify the twisting motion.

As the bridge returned to its natural state, its momentum twisted it in the other direction

where the wind could catch it and continue the twisting.

This phenomenon is called aeroelastic flutter.

It's the same reason that a strap or sheet of paper vibrates in the wind.

It's a completely separate mechanism than resonance from vortex shedding, because the

periodic forces are self induced from the naturally unstable aerodynamic shape of the

bridge.

This torsional flutter eventually created too much stress in the suspension cables,

and the bridge failed.

One way that modern bridges avoid flutter is to include a gap in the center of the deck

so that the pressures on either side can equalize.

I cut a slot in my model, and sure enough the vibrations almost completely stopped.

Another option is just to make the bridge deck more aerodynamic to avoid creating vortices

that push and pull on the structure.

Of course, bridges aren't the only civil structures affected by the wind.

Take a look at the very first Practical Engineering video about Tuned Mass Dampers to learn about

how wind-induced motion can be mitigated in skyscrapers.

For a simpler example, take a look outside at just about any high voltage power line.

You might notice small devices hanging near the insulators at each pole.

These are stockbridge dampers that help suppress wind-induced vibration on long cables and

signs.

And of course, other types of engineers contend with flutter as well.

I've heard that airplanes are designed for wind loads, but I can't confirm it.

These days, we have a much better understanding of the wide variety of loading conditions

that can be faced by buildings and other structures.

But, much of our current understanding has come from failures of the past.

The case of the Tacoma Narrows bridge is a well-known cautionary tale that's discussed

in engineering and physics classrooms across the world.

The main lesson isn't necessarily that you should make sure to consider aeroelastic effect

when you design a suspension bridge (even though you definitely always should), but

I think more importantly it's a reminder of how profoundly capable we are of making

mistakes.

When you push the envelope, you have to be vigilant because things that didn't matter

before start to become important.

Unanticipated challenges are a cost of innovation and that's something that we can all keep

in mind.

Sadhguru - Every day, you practice this and then you see - Duration: 11:50.

Questioner: I have been seeing your videos in YouTube,

this is the first time that I am seeing you live.

So, I have a basic questions, which will help everyone here.

Everyone talks about, you know, knowing ourselves and the first step is going inside

and then the way to go inside is meditation and when I try to

Sadhguru: I don't know, please don't (Laughs)… do

I never said such things.

I don't know which everyone said those things (Laughter).

Questioner: Okay, so then how do we go inside?

Vinita Bali: That is the question (Laughter).

Sadhguru: Inside what, you are already inside the hall (Laughter)?

Inside what?

Questioner: Inside ourselves.

Sadhguru: Ohh (Laughs)!

Questioner: Okay, if that is the truth of the first step of knowing answers for all

the questions, if going inside is the answer,

then how do we do that?

Sadhguru: First of all, you must understand what is inside, okay,

and what is outside.

If you do not understand what is inside and outside,

then you will go to all the wrong places.

Now what is inside?

Your body – accumulated over a period of time, yes or no?

Hello, Maa?

Participants: Yes.

Sadhguru: What you accumulate can be yours, cannot be you.

Is that much clear?

Participants: Yes.

Sadhguru: Whatever it may be.

What you accumulate can be yours, cannot be you.

So, this body (Gestures) is an accumulation.

What you call as my mind, the whole content of the mind is accumulated,

depending upon what you are exposed to in your life.

So your body is a heap of food, small or big.

Your mind is a heap of impressions, again small or big.

Between these two heaps, where the hell are you?

So, inside, outside – leave these words because

when it comes to language, there is only that much leeway,

so within that, maybe different people are trying to use it in different ways,

we don't know in what context they used.

You put everybody into one bundle and said, "All of you said this."

I don't know who these all people are.

Different people employed different methods around them,

looking at the people around them, what was best suitable for the people around

them, accordingly they would have worked most probably.

If they are genuine, they would have worked with the people around

them, not with concepts from somewhere.

What…

Looking at an individual person, you will do something,

what works for that person.

What you do with this person (Gestures) may not work for another person,

you'll have to do something else with that person

but you are talking about a generic inward, outward.

So, first determine what is inward, outward.

Everything is outward right now.

The world is outside, body is also external material,

all the material in the mind also is external so what is this inward you are talking about?

Then you will immediately say atma, paramatma, soul, this one.

Now you are going into belief system.

You don't know!

You know you have a body, yes?

Hello?

Participants: Yes.

Sadhguru: Please check your neighbors (Laughter).

You know you have a body, you believe you have a mind (Laughter).

But to some extent, you know but rest is belief.

Yes or no?

Vinita Bali: Yes.

Sadhguru: I'm not questioning whether it's true or false,

let's not go there at all, but it's belief, it's not yet in your experience.

If you talk about something, which is not yet in your experience,

to put it bluntly you're just a bloody liar, that's what

it means.

But because lies are holy, lies are written in scriptures,

lies are repeated by all kinds of people who dressed in different ways,

which are supposed be holy though ridiculous.

Because of this, you are not supposed to question these words.

Anywhere you go, first thing is people say, "Sadhguru, what

about the soul?"

I ask them, "Which sole, right or left" Laughter/Applause)?

So, let's not te… talk about something that is not in your experience.

Right now, your body is in your experience to some extent,

your mind is in your experience to some extent, rest you don't know but we can infer.

If I have to …accumulate this much (Gestures) body,

if I have to accumulate this much (Gestures) mind,

something more fundamental must be there, yes?

Something more fundamental must be there, we don't know what the hell it is.

For now, we will call it "you."

How you will go into yourself, I'm asking (Laughter)?

You can go into this hall, you can go out of this hall?

How will you go into yourself, I'm asking?

Tch, saying let's leave this, this is not the way.

You do this way.

What is not you, all those things you keep it aside.

Before today… if you… before you go to bed,

everything that's not you, keep it aside.

They may be precious to you.

You think about it, your house, is it you?

"Oh!

My house" (Gestures) (Laughter).

All right, you have lots of passion about it

but all right, keep it aside.

Your husband, is it you?

No, that's easy, "He is not me" (Laughter/Applause).

My children … are they me?

Oh, little difficulty, but no (Laughter), tch,

they are not me.

They're beginning to tell you – if they're twelve, they've already told

you (Laughter).

So, the clothes that you wear, is that you?

No.

The body that you wear, is that you?

No.

All these thoughts and emotion, is this you?

No.

Everything that's not you, keep it in one heap,

not physically, just do this mentally.

Keep everything aside, let me see.

Every day, you practice this.

One day, when you successfully keep everything aside that you are not,

what you are will be there (Applause).

We have too many ideas about things that we've not seen,

this is a big problem.

Shankaran Pillai went to Britannia (Laughter/Applause).

Can I…?

Vinita Bali: You love the story, yes.

Sadhguru: Shankaran Pillai went to Britannia Industries (Laughter) to find a job,

to find a job.

So, they were looking for a really smart, farseeing sales manager.

So they asked him one question, "Which is farther

Mumbai or moon?"

Shankaran Pillai thought, he said, "Mumbai."

They said, "What?

Mumbai is farther than the moon?"

He said, "Yes."

"How?"

"Well, I can see the moon, I can't see Mumbai" (Laughter and Applause).

So what I am saying is – if you go by your present perception,

you'll get all the wrong conclusions.

So don't be in a rush to make conclusions.

Let's pay little more attention.

You are a worthwhile life, which deserves some attention, isn't it?

Don't seek other people's attention (Laughter).

Your own attention, doesn't this life (Referring to oneself)

deserve attention?

Pay attention to this (Referring to oneself).

Enough attention, everything will be clear.

Everything about you, you're asking me.

If I tell you, what do you have?

You have some more words.

Tch, some more words you have,

that will not get you anywhere near the truth.

One more word or ten more words doesn't get you any closer to reality,

just you'll have more things to say to somebody else.

This kind of hearsay is spreading in the world.

Everybody knows where god is, who his wife is,

how many children he has, when is his birthday,

his address.

In every bhajan, people are singing his address, where he is and how to get him

but they don't know a damn thing about themselves.

This kind of, what to say, a very knowledgeable ignorance

is dangerous (Laughter), you know?

If you do not know, it's not a problem.

If I see, "I do not know," the possibility of knowing is always there,

isn't it?

If I do not know and I think I know, then I've destroyed all possibilities.

So, we have arrived at many things, we know

In every culture they know what is the nature of god,

where he resides, how the ambience is there and the works, you

know?

Tch, you Everybody knows the geography of the heaven,

isn't it?

Don't you?

but you don't know a damn thing about yourself.

It's time, it's time we paid attention because

everything you know, you know it only the way it's projected

in the firmament of your mind.

You don't know anything any other way.

Yes or no?

Participants: Yes.

Sadhguru: So, what you need to fix is – you are seeing everything in a mirror of your

mind and the mirror is wonky.

First fix it, first thing is to make it stable,

flat, proper plain mirror,

so that you see everything the way it is.

Does the plain mirror show you everything the way it is?

Everything reverse, you know?

Then you'll have to flip it, that'll take much more skill,

most people can't flip a dosa (Laughter).

Now to… flip the whole universe, the whole life that is reflecting in your

mind, to flip it over without shattering it into

pieces will take much more.

But the first thing is to level out the mirror so that it shows you everything the way it

is, not some other way.

Right now, everything is seen depending upon how you are identified with something.

Every identity has distorted the mirror of your mind

and it shows you things in completely different way than the way it is.

First thing is stop talking about things that you do not know –

no soul, no atman, no paramatman, no god, no divine, no heaven –

talk about something that you know and then the longing to take the next step

will become strong.

Otherwise, when you know the geography of the heaven,

what is the need to pay attention to anything?

Why Stuff Won't Make You Happy - Duration: 3:55.

- One of my favorite things in life

right now is Netflix.

I can binge watch a show, I love documentaries.

I just love Netflix.

It's a way I can come home after we put the girls down

and eat dinner. Winston and I, we love to have a good show

and it's great.

So, as I was scrolling through Netflix I saw a documentary

that I had heard a lot of people talk about,

but I hadn't seen it.

It was called "Minimalism".

So, I was like "Oh yeah, this will be cool.

I'll totally watch this."

And by the end, I was like,

praising Jesus, hallelujah!

I was so fired up because,

not only do they talk about so much of what

we talk about here on the show about getting out of

debt and getting rid of stuff and selling stuff and

not going into debt for things.

I mean, everything we talk about

they kept reiterating and kind of had the same philosophies.

But their whole thing was that they got rid of

a ton of their stuff 'cause they realized that

stuff does not equal happiness and in America today

we've fallen into this lie that the more stuff you have

the better your life is going to be.

And I just realized as I was watching this

I'm like, "Man, we have so much crap in our lives

and in our houses and in our bathroom sinks

and in our closets.

Like, we have so much stuff.

So much stuff.

And you know me, I enjoy some things.

So I always say, "It's okay to have nice stuff.

Just don't let your nice stuff have you."

But you walk into the average person's home and it's like,

we just have stuff everywhere.

It's just...it is unbelievable.

And then again, for the average American that goes into debt

to buy stuff that we do not need.

And I just got so fired up 'cause I was like,

"Who?! Who set the standard of living in America?"

Everyone says you've got to have this lifestyle.

Like, this is average.

Whether it's a three-car garage, or a room for every person.

Everything is just like,

"Yeah this is it, this is it.

This is what your life should look like.

This is the vacation you should take.

These are the clothes you should wear.

These are the brands that are great.

Here's the grocery stores you should shop at.

This is what's average."

Who said that's average?! Who said that's average?!

I'm like, "No!" It just made me so mad

because I think we really have.

We've gotten into this idea that man, our lifestyles

should look like this and no matter what we make,

no matter what our income is,

we deserve this standard of living.

And it just fired me up.

And so I was like, "We've got to get the Minimalists

on our show! We have to get them here

to talk about all of this!"

Because you guys, again,

stuff is not going to make you happy.

Stuff is not going to make you happy.

Stuff is not bad, I want you to be able to

shop at the grocery store you want to,

take the vacation you want. That's fine.

Those are not bad things.

But when we put our value and our happiness that that stuff

is going to fulfill us, it's not.

We end up like a rat in a wheel for our entire lives

chasing something that is never, ever

going to fulfill us.

(sigh of relief)

Are you mad too? I hope you're mad.

I hope you're just like, "You know what?

I need to get rid of some crap in my house."

So, the money challenge for this episode is:

When the show is over, I want you to look around your house,

and I want you to start small.

But get rid of one thing.

Like, go in your closet and be like,

"Wow, I have four or five black long-sleeve shirts.

Have I worn one of these shirts in a year?"

The answer is probably no, no you haven't.

Get rid of it. Sell it. Give it away.

I don't care what you do with it.

Get rid of one thing.

Because when you start to purge a little bit

it's like, "Wow. I did this." I went into my closet

and I did this. I went and I looked. I was like,

"Okay." I had this filter of, "Okay, if I was going on a

four-week vacation...what would I pack?"

So, it's a lot, right? I mean, I enjoy clothes.

But I'm like, "Half the stuff I haven't worn in like,

a year and a half." And I always have it in there.

I'm like, "Well, just in case that one thing comes up

I'm going to need it."

Nuh-uh. I chucked all that clothes and it felt so good

to purge. It felt so good.

Red Dead Redemption Story Summary - What You Need to Know to Play Red Dead Redemption 2! - Duration: 8:30.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 right around the corner, we here at Suggestive Gaming figured

now would be a good time to go over the story of the first game to catch up.

So let's take a look back at John Marston's story before we go back to his early days

later this year.

Also, make sure you stick around, because afterwards we'll take a look at the non-canon

Undead Nightmare expansion, as well as the game's precursor: Red Dead Revolver.

Without further ado, this is What You Need to Know about the Red Dead series.

Our story begins in the year 1911, where in a town called Blackwater, the FBI have taken

former outlaw John Marston.

Marston is offered a political pardon, as well as his family's safety, on the condition

that he brings down the other members of his former gang, starting with a man named Bill

Williamson.

Marston travels to Fort Mercer to appeal to Williamson, who sics his men on Marston in

turn, berating him for his turning on the gang.

Marston reaches for his revolver, but is shot by one of Williamson's men.

Presuming him dead, the gang leave Marston's body to rot.

However, a few hours later, a rancher named Bonnie MacFarlane happens across him and takes

him to her ranch to recover.

After repaying the MacFarlanes by helping around the ranch, Marston meets up with a

band of unlikely partners, including a US Marshall, a con artist, a treasure hunter,

and an arms dealer, and the group stage an attack on Fort Mercer.

The group attack the fort, only to find that Williamson has fled across the border to Mexico

to seek help from another former member of their gang: Javier Escuella.

Marston follows him to Mexico, and meets a Mexican Army Colonel named Agustin Allende.

Allende informs Marston that he has captured both Williamson and Escuella, and will deliver

them if John helps Allende and his army end an ongoing rebellion.

After receiving Marston's help, however, it is revealed that Allende had lied from

the beginning, and he tasks his right-hand man Captain Vincente de Santa with executing

John.

De Santa is interrupted by a group of rebels, along with their leader Abraham Reyes, who

save Marston and kill Allende's soldiers, but are unable to capture de Santa before

he escapes.

Reyes promised Marston that if he helped take down Allende, the rebels would help him find

Williamson and Escuella.

The group kill de Santa, and holding true to their promise, find and capture Escuella.

Escuella reveals that Williamson has been informed of Marston's uniting with the rebels,

has hired Allende to protect him.

The rebels, along with Marston, storm Allende's villa, killing his soldiers and cornering

him inside the villa.

After the rebels break in, the two attempt to escape in an armored carriage, which Marston

and Reyes are able to stop by killing its driver.

After this, both Williamson and Allende are killed by Marston and Reyes.

Reyes then leaves to advance on the capital, and John returns to Blackwater to meet with

the FBI.

There, the two agents, Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham, inform Marston that his job is not

complete until he helps them hunt down the leader of his former gang: Dutch van der Linde.

Marston and the FBI wage several battles with Dutch and his new gang, and eventually they

and the US Army storm his hideout.

Marston eventually corners Dutch, who warns him that the government will always find a

new "monster", and to avoid capture, he kills himself by falling off a cliff.

With his mission complete, John is allowed to return to his family at their ranch in

Beecher's Point.

He settles down with his wife Abigail, son Jack, and family friend "Uncle", and swears

to keep himself, and his family, away from trouble; abandoning his outlaw life for good.

However, just as Dutch had warned, Ross double crosses John, leading a large group of FBI

and Army-men to attack the ranch.

After Uncle is killed in the shootout, John tells his wife and son to leave while he stays

back to defend the barn.

John and Abigail share a kiss, and the mother and son ride off.

John exists the barn to face Ross and his firing squad.

Attempting to kill as many as he can in his last moments, John is eventually shot dead.

As he falls, Ross watches, lighting a cigar to celebrate the death of the final member

of Dutch's gang before he and his men leave.

Abigail and Jack hear the cease-fire, and return to find John's lifeless body, realizing

that his sacrifice would keep them safe.

They bury him on the hill overlooking the ranch, next to Uncle.

Upon his grave they inscribe "Blessed are the Peacemakers".

Three years later, Abigail passes away, and Jack then sets his sight on tracking down

the man who killed his father.

He eventually finds Ross, now retired, and challenges him to a duel.

Jack fires first and kills the man, avenging his father's death and leaving the rest of

his story untold…

While this is the end of John Marston's story, we are given another one, albeit a

completely original and non-canon one, through the "Undead Nightmare" expansion to Red

Dead Redemption.

It begins with the Marston family in their home during a storm, discussing the fact that

Uncle has not come home yet.

However, right on cue, Uncle arrives, infected with a zombie virus.

John runs to fetch his gun, but while he is gone, Uncle bites Abigail, infecting her with

the virus.

John shoots Uncle and tends to Abigail, but she becomes Undead and attacks Jack, turning

him Undead as well.

John hogties the both of them and leaves them behind to go to Blackwater to find a cure.

There, and throughout his search for the cure, he encounters various characters that he met

in his "actual" journey, all who he helps with their various supernatural problems.

He eventually follows leads down to Mexico, where he meets the Mother Superior in a nunnery.

After helping her save her town, she sends John to fetch her an Undead.

He does so, and she pours Holy Water on it, which causes it to erupt in a blue flame.

Mother Superior sends John with Holy Water to clear out a nearby graveyard, and upon

returning from the task, she tells him a woman informed her that the cause of the Undead

plague was because of something Abraham Reyes has done.

John finds Reyes, but he is now Undead and trying to kill a woman.

John kills Reyes, and the Woman informs him that Reyes, trying to find a means of immortality,

stole an ancient Aztec mask, starting the plague.

The two return the mask to the crypt it was stolen from, and in doing so, the Undead are

returned to normal, and John makes his way back home.

There, he finds that Abigail and Jack are back to their normals selfs.

Months later, Marston has been killed.

However, Seth Briars (the aforementioned treasure hunter), digs up the mask once again, causing

the plague to return.

This raises John from the dead as well, however since he was buried with Holy Water, he returns

with a human soul, allowing him to prolong his life.

While not connected to the story of John Marston or Dutch's gang, there is one other "Red

Dead" game: "Red Dead Revolver".

For the sake of completion, let's take a look at the precursor to the Red Dead Redemption

series.

In the 1880s, Nate Harlow and his partner Griff strike gold in Bear Mountain.

The two celebrate by creating a unique pair of revolvers for themselves, each inscribed

with a scorpion.

Later, however, Griff is captured by the Mexican army.

He offers General Diego of the Mexican Army half of the gold in Bear Mountain to spare

his life.

Diego agrees to this, and sends his Colonel Daren to kill Nate at the instruction of Griff

to claim the other half of the gold for his own.

Daren tracks Nate to his farm and shoots him and his wife, killing them.

Nate's son Red, however, retrieves his father's revolver and shoots off Daren's left arm,

causing him to flee.

Years later, Red, now a bounty hunter, takes out a gang led by an outlaw named "Bloody

Tom".

Attempting to transport their bodies to claim the bounties, Red is attacked by another gang

and their leader "Ugly Chris".

Red and the town's sheriff, O'Grady, survive the attack and defeat the gang, but Red must

then take the sheriff into town to find a doctor to tend to his wounds.

In the town of Brimstone, Red is tasked by it's Sheriff Bartlett to take on some bounties.

After doing so, Red learns from the Sheriff about the town's Governor Griffon, who owns

Bear Mountain.

Red, aware that his family was killed over the gold there, sets out to learn more but

is roped into a fight in which he is forced to kill several patrons, leading to his arrest

by Sheriff Bartlett, who reveals to Red that General Diego and Colonel Daren are still

alive.

Bartlett releases Red, who travels to a location where Diego's supply wagon is station.

After destroying it, however, he is captured by Daren, who imprisons him to with in his

mines.

There, Red meets a soldier known as Buffalo Soldier and his cousin Shadow Wolf.

The three are freed and Red attack's Diego's fort and kills Daren.

However, Shadow Wolf dies due to wounds sustained during the battle.

Buffalo Soldier goes to Governor Griffon to inform him of Red's plan, but Griffon reveals

that he knew this all along, and captures Buffalo Soldier for his helping Red escape.

Later, Red intercepts a train carrying Diego's gold, and a battle ensues between Diego and

Red.

Critically wounded, Diego pleas with Red and offers him the gold.

Red declines and kills Diego, avenging his parents' deaths.

Later, Red learns that it was in-fact, Governor Griffon who led Diego to his parents to spare

his own life.

He attacks him at his mansion with the help of the Sheriff and some townsfolk, and eventually

kills him in quick-draw fashion.

The Sheriff warns Red to leave, as killing a government official is a hangable offense,

and offers to pay him, but he refuses the money, instead telling the Sheriff to give

it to the townspeople who helped him.

Finally, Red retrieves Griffon's revolver, finally bringing the two together once again.

8 Foods You Should Eat to Have a Healthy Brain - Duration: 7:43.

8 Foods You Should Eat to Have a Healthy Brain

The brain is one of the most important and complex organs of our body.

Moreover, your brain, together with your nervous system, is responsible for providing a wide variety of physical and mental abilities.

The brain also functions as the axis of control of the whole body, not only because it regulates cognitive functions, but also because it intervenes in the vital processes of all organs and systems.

It's so surprising that so far it's been impossible to exactly determine what may be the brain's greatest scope in human development.

However, what's clearly known is that life habits positively or negatively influence the multiple tasks it performs.

For example, your diet can provide some essential nutrients which help keep this organ healthy over time after your body absorbs them.

In this article, we want to share 8 healthy foods that everyone can eat which take care of this important organ.

1,Dark chocolate.

Moderately consuming dark chocolate that has a minimum of 60% cocoa provides interesting benefits for the brain and nervous system health.

This food contains high levels of antioxidant substances.

After being absorbed in the body, they minimize the negative effects of free radicals on your cells.

It also provides significant amounts of B vitamins and minerals needed to prevent hormonal and nervous imbalances.

Dark chocolate is also recommended to stimulate the production of serotonin and endorphins, two neurotransmitters that control stress and anxiety.

2,Natural yogurt.

The reason you're advised to consume natural yogurt to improve brain function is that it contains healthy bacteria that help protect it.

Even though these live cultures directly influence intestinal health, their absorption positively influences the optimal health of the brain.

3,Oats.

Known as "the Queen of cereals," oats are a food rich in nutritional compounds that provide many benefits for the health of the body.

First of all, they contains significant amounts of vitamin B1.

This is necessary to protect the brain from the negative effects of aging and free radicals.

Furthermore, their antioxidant compounds slow down cell damage caused by free radicals.

In turn, they promote an improvement in concentration and memory.

Moreover, oats are recommended for times where you must exert yourself intellectually since the provides a healthy boost of energy.

4, Onions.

Onion is a food rich in antioxidant compounds that help protect brain cells to prevent the development of neurodegenerative diseases.

They contain large quantities of quercetin and anthocyanins, which contribute to improving concentration ability.

This, in turn, also balances the functions of the central nervous system.

5,Oily fish.

Oily fish is one of the greatest natural sources of omega-3 fatty acids.

This is a type of healthy polyunsaturated fat that provides benefits for both heart and cognitive health.

This nutrient helps clean arteries since it removes cholesterol and prevents the formation of plaque.

Its anti-inflammatory properties improve the process of cellular oxygenation and prevent the development of chronic disorders such as strokes.

6,Avocados.

This delicious green-pulp fruit has healthy fats and antioxidant compounds that help prevent brain cells from aging prematurely.

In addition, their omega-3 fatty acids, as well as its vitamin E content, counteract the harmful effects of free radicals and prevent cognitive decline.

7, Flaxseed.

Flaxseed contains omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E and other compounds with antioxidant action thatt help protect the health of the brain.

Consuming it gives the whole body extra energy and also improves concentration and mental performance.

In addition, adding flaxseed to your diet reduces the negative impact of oxidative damage.

It also counteracts cells in the brain tissues from aging.

8,Olive oil.

The healthy fats in extra virgin olive oil are useful for removing bad cholesterol (LDL) in the arteries.

This type of cholesterol is associated with cardiovascular disorders such as stroke.

Furthermore, this nutrient, together with its antioxidants, controls the inflammatory processes of the body.

Plus, it also decreases imbalances in the nervous system.

Consuming it enhances the smooth functioning of brain cells and blood circulation, which is crucial for keeping the brain healthy.

Eating these foods regularly is a great way to promote cognitive well-being.

Include them in your diet and enjoy all of their fantastic benefits.

3 Search Engine Optimization Tips - Get More Website Traffic - Duration: 4:10.

Here are three quick tips on how to make sure that your website is SEO optimized.

The first tip seems like it might not be a big deal, but make sure that you don't have

your website no indexed.

I talked to a lot of people, and they say.

"Man, my website is not indexing in Google at all.

I don't know why I'm not showing up in any of the rankings."

Then, I go into their website and I look at the source code and they have a line of code

of their website that tells Google not to index their website.

It's called a No Index Tag.

Basically, all you have to do is go to your website, right click on your website's background.

Say View Source and then hit Control F. And type in the word noindex with no spaces.

If you see that in there, that means that you're telling Google not to index your website

at all.

Generally, when this happens most people think.

"Ah man, why would you do that?

Why would that ever happen?"

But I see it happen more often than you would expect.

The reason is, when people are developing the website, the put the no index tag on there

so that Google doesn't index the website before it's complete.

Then, they finish the website.

They give it off to the client or whoever the business may be.

Then, the tag stays in there and the business has no idea because they don't even think

to look into the code.

Their website just doesn't rank.

So, definitely go on your website, make sure that your website does not have that tag.

And make sure that your website is indexing in Google.

That's a huge one, first step.

The second tip is make sure that you're optimizing your pages on your website for specific keywords.

Every single page on a website has a title tag, a meta description and then it has the

body content.

What you want to do is think about the key word that's going to be most relevant for

that page and make sure that the same exact keyword is in the title tag, the meta description

and the body content a few times.

What that does is it basically tells Google, it says, "Okay.

Google comes through and it's just a bot.

So, it goes through and it sees the same keywords three, four, five times all on the same page."

It says this page is likely about this.

A lot of people they create blogs, they write a bunch of content and they don't ever think

to put the keywords in the title tag, meta description, and body content.

Google just has no idea what the page is about.

So, when you're creating your pages if you're writing blogs, if you're putting up video

posts, make sure to think of the one key phrase that's most important.

Make sure it's in the title, meta description, and the body content exactly how somebody

would search it in Google.

The third tip to help your page's rank in Google is to think about the content from

the opposite side.

Think about what are the phrases that someone is going to search into Google that will bring

them to my content.

Then you want to use those specific keywords in your content so that your page will rank

for those keywords.

So, in tip two, you want to put those keywords in the title, meta description, and body content,

but you want to think about the phrases that somebody is going to search in Google that's

going to bring them to your website.

So, rather than saying I'm going to create all this awesome content and people are just

going to find it, think about the topics and say, "Okay, I want to talk about this topic."

Then think what is somebody going to search in Google to bring them to this content and

then optimize your page for those specific keywords.

There's a lot of places that you can do research for that.

One is SEM Rush.

It's a free tool.

You can pay for upgraded services, but check out SEM Rush and you can actually research

the keywords that get a lot of traffic and volume.

But to start, just think of it from the other side.

Say what are the people that are going to be my target audience?

What are the specific phrases that they're going to search in to Google and optimize

your content for those keywords?

It'll bring a lot more into your website and you'll start ranking a lot better.

Those are three quick SEO optimization tips that will help you get your website ranking

better and make sure that you're ranking in Google.

So, hopefully that helps you out.

How to Use Brand Collabs Manager | FACEBOOK'S LATEST UPDATE - Duration: 5:44.

- You've probably heard a lot about influencer marketing,

brand marketing, and all that,

but I'm going to show you how Facebook is getting involved

in brand marketing and influencer marketing.

Boy, it's getting confusing.

That's this week on Think Tank Tuesday.

(upbeat music)

Hi, I'm Paul Potratz,

and welcome to this week's Think Tank Tuesday.

A new set, something different,

got my glasses on so I look studious.

Trimmed the beard,

so I don't know why I did that.

Well yeah I do, it was an accident, okay.

But this week I'm going to show you a relatively new feature

that Facebook is doing

through individuals that have an audience.

And it's really it's kind of a combination

between building your brand and using influencers

to build your brand.

So now we're going to switch over to the website

and I'm going to show you what it is.

So I got an invitation sayin' hey, Paul,

do you want to be somebody that would share your brand,

share your audience, and I was like yeah, okay.

Yeah, sure, let's check it out.

So let me show you right here.

The first thing is a pop-up where you can pick the area

of the United States, Canada, where you want to go.

Gender, age range, education, relationship status,

interest, and then what's parents?

Let's see, what is parents?

Oh all parents, or children.

So you can even basically create an ad campaign

to spam young children.

So it makes a lot of sense to me, why not?

Hey, it's Facebook, right?

Life events, what kind of life events?

Upcoming birthday, new job, new relationship,

away from family.

So you can actually spam people that are lonely, all right?

So a whole new feature on advertising I guess.

Long-distance relationship,

anyway we won't even go there.

But anyway what this is is it's a Facebook platform

where it has recommended creators.

So based on who you're wanting to target, your audience,

the people that are going to buy your products, your service,

or you tchotchkes, you can target them through individuals

that already have an audience.

So if you look here, like this guy here,

Rushion McDonald, he has 733,000 followers

that are watching the content that he is creating.

So the takeaway is you as a business owner,

you as a salesperson, you as a marketer,

you have to get into the game of creating content.

And I mean you guys know I've been doing this for years

of creating content.

And you want to create content that's not sale, sale, sale,

but Rushion McDonald has his show

where he's doing interviews.

And then you can see Souther Bite, 255,000 followers.

Well established but growing, food.

So I'm going to click on that and kind of show you what that is.

But it's really helping busy families get home-cooked meals

on the table without a lot of hassle or expense.

Southern Bite readers are just a number, but anyway,

you get my point.

So if you were a company like you see right here,

like 7UP, Bigs, never heard,

Sunflower Seed, don't know them.

Borden, heard of them,

College Inn which does chicken broth, beef broth, right?

Hey, you didn't know I knew that.

But anyway, General Mills, Libby's,

so all of these different companies are saying hey,

this is a completely different way to advertise.

This individual, this guy right here,

put together a Facebook group that he has an audience

of age range 35 to 44, a lot of males,

which is really interesting, but hey it is what it is.

And he does videos, he creates content,

so these companies are saying hey, this is a great way

for us to get the name of our company out.

So I'm here to tell you simply, just real simple,

the days of doing radio, TV, and newspaper

are probably not as valuable anymore

because this is a great way to brand,

or cross-promote, that's the word I wanted.

It's a great way to cross-promote.

And regardless of the type of business that you have,

I don't care what it is,

you can be an accountant, you can be a car dealer,

you could be a hair stylist,

you could be a proctologist, it doesn't make a difference.

Whatever you want to do or you want to reach people,

doesn't it make a lot of sense to go to something like this,

like a Facebook group

where people are consuming this content,

wanting this content, searching this content,

seeking this content out,

and taking time to watch this content

whether it's on their desktop, their mobile phone,

or their Smart TV.

Who would have ever thought a TV would be smart, but it is.

So that they are consuming the content,

they're not trying to skip through commercials

or anything else 'cause they want it.

So if you're spending money in radio, TV, newspaper,

and I hate to say it, even pay per click,

you probably want to consider brand colab.

With Facebook, I think it's a great tool

and very few people are really leveraging it.

When I say few, yeah, a lot of the brands like Borden

and College Inn and Libby's and all those guys,

they're in it, they're on it.

But hey, if you're a small business

or a middle sized business, regardless,

even if you're an attorney,

this is a great way to advertise for pennies on the dollar.

And I think you just have to think about

what I'm really trying to tell you here.

If your audience would match up,

in other words your audience would watch Southern Bites

and the video that this great guy's creating,

and you have the association with him and his brand,

it just elevates your brand.

So I'm tellin' you,

there's something to influencer marketing

and brand colab,

or Colabs Manager is what it's called through Facebook.

But hey, are you struggling with Facebook advertising?

Well here's my sales pitch.

Give me a call, pick up the phone.

Call me, text me, whatever you want to do.

Message me on Facebook, follow me on Facebook,

but I would love to actually help you do more on Facebook

and I'll see ya next week on my next video.

Getting Better For You: System Improvements Coming Sept. 28–Oct. 1 - Duration: 2:12.

Hi, my name is Dave Larsen, President and CEO of Affinity Plus.

As you may already know, this year, we've been making investments in your credit union with

significant improvements to our internal systems.

These improvements allow the credit union to take a big step forward in serving you even better in the future.

We're at an important moment so mark your calendar.

We will upgrade our internal systems beginning at close of business on Friday, Sept. 28, through Monday, Oct. 1.

During that time our branches, contact centers and online and mobile banking services will not be available.

However, you will be able to use ATMs, your Affinity Plus debit and credit cards, and be able to write checks.

Our doors will reopen on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

We've been working steadily on this project for two years, and we were thoughtful when choosing the time to make these improvements.

Still, we understand that members may feel a temporary impact during this time frame, which is pretty typical

when making these types of improvements.

We want you to feel informed about what's happening.

The information you want and need has been added to our website.

It's at affinityplus.org/newsystem.

This page will be regularly updated in the weeks ahead.

Through all of this I want to assure you that the security of

your accounts and personal information has been a top priority for the credit union.

That's true now and into the future.

We also want to stress what's not changing–our core values of Caring, Excellence and Integrity.

We welcome your questions!

You can call, use Live Chat, send a secure message or stop by any of our branches.

I speak on behalf of 580 Affinity Plus employees across Minnesota

when I say–we're proud to serve you every day.

And we thank you for your credit-union membership.

Emma Gannon: 5 time management tricks you need to know | Prince's Trust Online - Duration: 1:55.

Hi I'm Emma Gannon I'm an author writer podcast host

lots of different things and lots of different jobs going on.

so I'm here today to share with you some tips and hacks

on how to handle your time a little bit better

so listen up for some tips.

So a really important thing to do

is to set some realistic goals for yourself.

So, get a few things done

and kind of give yourself a pat on the back when you do them

So instead of writing a long to-do list of ten different things you want to achieve

really whittle it down to a few specific things.

Maybe one or two things you know you can do that day.

Try and minimise your travel as much as you can.

If someone's trying to get you to go all the way across town

for a five-minute meeting, you can offer to have a Skype call or to have a phone call instead.

If you are commuting and it is a long commute

then make sure that you use that time well

making notes or doing your admin that can be done on your phone.

and just try and do something at least at that time when you're travelling.

Real work comes from focus which you need to block out time for.

So if you can make a note in your calendar

for two or three hours that no one can touch

and if you put it in your calendar it means you have to stick to it.

A lot of us spend a lot of time on social media

but you should really try and have some time for yourself

so if you want to switch off and you're finding it really hard

put your phone in a different room so that it's physically away from you as well as mentally.

So one thing that can lead to burning out and kind of feeling exhausted

when you'll be no use to anyone, is when you work flat out, all the time

without breaks. So make sure that you factor in breaks.

Make sure you factor in treats or rewards.

Make sure that you factor in nice things

so that you can feel good about yourself too.

So that's it from me, thank you so much for listening

and I hope these tips have been useful for you

whether you're starting your own business

or you're looking for work currently

I wish you the best of luck.

Movies That Will Make You Happy - Duration: 12:53.

Why everybody you wanted to be happy? You're looking for ways to be happier? How can you

be happy? We'll give you one really easy, simple way, right now. Now, I've had the time

of my life. And I never felt this way before...Well, just joining us you hearing us sing song from

Dirty Dancing. Probably the happiest movie you'll ever see. Really? You like it? Does

it make you happy? No. What here name little Buffy, ah Tiny, Witty. No. What's the character's

name?Shafty. No. Yeah she has stinky, it's like one of the 7 dwarfs. Lifty. remember

at the end she gets lifted out. What is her name? Dirty. Girly. Ah it doesn't matter.

I'll remember it at some point. This is as stupidiest thing. Hey, it's Scott and Jeff

are out here. We're talking about how to be happy. There's just so many places we can

go with this one. You could see this is a Western state, Western Hemisphere. Although

I have seen Cinemarks around. Yeah. A little bit. Haven't you seen..We're both professional

speakers, we travel all over the world, doing keynotes and training sessions but I've seen

Cinemark in other states. If not it's AMC, it's Megaplexes, it's all over. What about

those theaters this days? I mean it's like you get. It's like you're laying in a hospital

room. Yeah, you might as well go home. Yeah. Watch all episodes of Lord of the Ring's here.

Those are amazing. You pay premium price for but I mean they are lazy boy recliners man.

I mean you've done this when we're gone to London together. You know after a long day

of speaking whatever group we're speaking to,. You go..Remember they have tables they'll

bring right up to you. It's like a server. It's crazy. Everything alright? Could I tap

up your water? Sort of thing. Are you enjoying Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone?

Philosophers Stone. You know J.K Rowling. Lady Rowling. I think she's a nightress.Ah

or whatever like a Dame...Oh Dame. Is she a Dame? She might be a Dame by now. She's

like the richest British woman like ever. Next to the queen or something. But when she

first routed, it was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone. And to Americanize it

I believe they called it "The Sorcerer's Stone. Which make's it...Well Philosopher doesn't

sound quite as wizardy to Yanks. So if you're British watching this maybe you know more

about it that we do. But the point is is if you want to be happy, little things like getting

out to a movie. Or not getting out. Watching a movie at home. Yeah. It's fine. So for entertainments

and ah...You look up the English version of Star Wars the Phantom Menace which is actually

the Star Wars, the Phantom Delwy. So...It doesn't even compute. Yes, that's British.

Here's some happy movies according to people on the internet. Wooh. And you can leave your

comments of the movies that make you the most happy. I'll run some by, you tell me if why

they would be happy. Forest Gump.To be honest with you, I make them up. I barely even got

a word out of my mouth. No, I like that movie. That's a fun movie. You know I've read the

critics as well. " Ah this little thing, everything come in together in one lifetime. Couldn't

happen. It's possible. Come on. Break the fourth wall for crying out loud, right? I mean,

just go with them.Yeah great movie. Suspend your disbelief. Great movie. You know because,

it's great movie because it's all about optimism and it's tackling life challenges and making

mud out of mud cakes or lemons out of lemonade. I'm going in reverse. Life is like buck..

You know the whole idea that you know life..You're handed a lot of different things and you just

make the best of it as you can and you try it. And yes it's fictionalized and based on

absolutely nothing true but any movie like that? Inspires you. Yeah.here's another one

for you. I lost my place because I've been moving around too much. Here it comes. Despicable

Me. Did you like that?Yeah, my daughter likes that. Animation, I love animation. I love

Steve Sherel. the little minions were just. I don't know what it was about but they, wow!Just

went like wildfire. And the beauty of movie like Despicable Me that I love and that's

inspiring is that it kind of shows that anybody can change. You know that even the hardest

heart or the worst person has this opportunity to redeem him/herself. And then little family

of midget icons. Midget emojis. I guess midgets not probably the right word to say anymore.

But I'm not talking about it's an animated character. The word midgets still exist in

our lexicon. We just can't say it. I'm sorry for a little person I used the word again.

No that was Fiat. The Fiat Midget. MG. Yeah. MG...Ah whatever. The next one the Sound of

Music. Oh, you we showed that to our daughter when she was 5 and she loved it. As young

as 5 years old and it's just so good. I fell in love with Julie Andrews when I was that

age. She was just so cute. What about, what was the older, the oldest daughter, Gretl?

Liesl. Liesl. Gretel. They were from Austria you know. She was I am 16 going on 23. Even

though my name is Gretl. Oh Liesl and Liesl was a cute name. Ah but it's a happy movie.

What was the little girl. What was the little name? The one that was so cute you but I don;t

remember her name. But they all have English accent fir being Austrian. Well you know that's

the language of Europe. Sing Street. Have you seen Sing Street? I added this one. Sing

Street. You have seen it? I've seen Sing. Nate have you seen it, Nate? No. No Sing Street

is one of the most inspiring...Especially for someone who kind of was a teenager in

the 80's. You need to see Sing Street. It's a period piece from the 1980's but made in

2015-2016. It is mind blowingly good. And give it a few minutes because they're Irish.

They're Irish kids and these Irish casts. And they'll take you seconds for your ear

to tune in the Irish. Because it's very strong you know but I'm telling you. Yeah it's strong

but man is it...And you'll love the sound track. This one I added, I don't know if you

agree with but Groundhog Day. Oh yeah. It's Bill Murray. How does he not make you happy?

Filed up almost any Bill Murray movie. Except maybe some of his more recent ones. What about

Bob. Groundhog day. If you'll think about Groundhog Day, it's also got a very deep...

redemption. Deep message to it. I mean you'll never know how long he has lived that day.

It could be a thousand years. He's living that day over and over because you know by

the time that he comes the master concert pianist, you're just like wow! Isn't it cool?

He decides to take the time that he's been given and actually do something and that's

what made him happy. Was he was working, he was striving, and he was doing things. And

he enjoyed himself as well. But that's a..But he got into it.Yeah. That's a great movie

to uplift you. Okay, So wrap things up, we're going to talk about our top 3 celebrities

that we've met. Not our movies, no. Got you on that one. So we met a lot of celebrities

and you got to be careful how you approach a celebrity and how to treat a celebrity,

how to talk to a celebrity. But I've met so many. I can even remember them all just from

working as a film actor and TV actor and stuff. But also just them passing, I've met some

of them. Third for me, this is really going to go back to children of the 80's is Howard

Jones. Remember that? Oh yes, we met him in London. Yeah we were doing a trade show together.

We're both up on stage and just the script and just got says, "hey, Howard Jones." Howard

Jones, one of the coolest. Nobody reacted, I know. One of the coolest guys in the 80's.

Because this is 20 years later. Yeah but that was so cool to me. He was so nice and he said

" Oh, I love Utah audiences. Everytime I come to Utah audience. It's true Utah audience.

Ah we're in Utah by the way. They love Howard Jones, if you remember them up, look it up.

Number 3 for me Mike Lookinland/Chris Barnes. Mike Lookinland played Bobby Brady on the

Brady Brunch. And Chris Barnes played tenor boy along of that. I was a young kid about

their age when the shows came out. I was a young actor, I'm so jealous with them for

the roles that they had. But I just thought they were amazing when I I met both of them

in person through working with them. It was just a ...It was a cool little you know full

circle moment of little Scotty meets little Bobby and little Taner kind of thought. Number

2 for you? Number 2 for me is Stephen King, the author. Oh, wow. I met him in elevator

in Washington D.C. And I didn't know it until we were half way up to my floor, You know,

he's cracking jokes a little bit. He's the goofiest I could got. Yeah I get out of the

thing and I turned around and look at him, almost as the door is closing and I said,

"Stephen King, right?" He says, "yes". Goom! I said, yeah nice to meet you. Have a good

night. Boom! And I just ughh.. Oh my wife instantly...It was cool. Was it a hotel in

the northeast like camp somewhere like a..No it was a big major Mariott hotel so it wasn't

like one of this you know. Wasn't the shining face in Colorado. That would have been awesome,

you know that would have...Steven King. Ah number 2 for me is the sast of Modern Family.

Specifically Ty Burrel and Julie Bowen who play Phil and Claire. They're the main parents

when I did an episode of Modern Family. I think it was Season 7. And just had a few

hours. Just basically sit, chat and talk to them. Ty actually has a house here in Utah

and Julie doesn't but she also has boys. She has 3 boys, I have 5 boys. We talked for a

long time. She's a bit crossword puzzle fan. And she was doing the New York times crossword

and she's kind of saying, " Oh I love that, I do that everyday. And she pulled out of

her purse of photocopy of it and said well here. She said I always carry one around.

I guess anybody wants to do it. Just a lot of fun.number 1 for you? Jay Leno. Nice. No,

not one I open for him. We both met him. That's right. That's the moment I'm thinking that.

Yes. So without doing a trade show together, doing our speaking stuff when we go out on..

Right in front of Season's Palm. Right out in the street trying to figure out what we

want to do and here comes Leno with his 7 or 8 lone trash pits. He comes right out to

us microphone boom, it's all there. " So what you guys doing here in Vegas?" We just thought

like idiots. It was one of those moments where you just can't think of anything fun in Vegas

to that effect. Here we are couple of Mormones in Vegas out of trade show. We've just come

out of Cesar's Palace, we're not drunk. Don't I have money to see the big shows? Nah. We're

not with the ladies. We're basically dressed like a couple of tourist like this. That's

right. Yeah, look at this. "What are you guys doing? Are you high? Are you drunk? What are

you..." No we're Mormones. We were just in arcade playing video games. Yeah. That was

not our shining... I wonder if I made it on the Tonight show. I hope as if. That was fun.

Number 1 for me was Christopher Lloyd. Did a show called Granite Flats which was on Netflix

for a number of years and a really fun television series. And Christopher Lloyd was kind of

our big name. You know recurring guest and he was just a great myth for me. But all those

things of course make us happy. But get up. Get out. Enjoy your self. See a movie now

and then. You know kind of escape from reality. A drive is a great place to do that. There's

still a few of them left in America. Summer time is a good time to be there to drive.

Unless you live in a warmer climate but chance to take the kids. take the kids and go to

a drive and just take the phone and put it on the dash board. You can do that...You know.

But do that while you;re driving. No. See you next time. What do you think? That that

little list of happy movies make you happy? If not, comment. what is your happiest movie.

We want to know. Write a go to movie for you. Like us, subscribe, share, tell your friends.

We'll see you next episode.keep smiling.
